Carolin is an awesome bartender. Get the ka ka ka ka Kia taco! It will burn on two ends! Queso with taco meat not the best. The fritters are much better.

REALLYSLOWSERVICE!!! We waited forever for our food– and the nachos were soggy. The tacos(glad we got soft) were tasty– however– again barely warm. Could have been a great experience. But it is difficult to be happy about waiting forever for food — only to have it come lukewarm and soggy.

I’ll start by saying that this was our second visit here. First one was awesome! We couldn’t wait to come back. Second time, we brought our parents. The hostess completely ignored us walking up. Then, after about 5 minutes of standing there while she chatted with another worker she turned around to see how many seats we needed. She was highly annoyed that we needed a highchair. Then, she walked away and didn’t even tell us we could follow or anything. Once we were sat she slammed the menus on the table and walked away. Ok, cool??? Waitress saved the day, she was so sweet and took care of everything we needed. I didn’t catch her name and wish I would have so I could thank her properly. Because of her we may just try this place once more and hopefully the hostess has a better attitude!

Great Mexican food for the the price and quantity of food you get, loved it. Like every place in North Myrtle Beach there is a long wait, but that is usually a good sign. My family of three ate for under $ 30.00 and that included a $ 3.00 margarita that they have all the time.

So a 30 minute wait turns into close to and a half. Had to get the menu’s and silverware. Food was very good when we finally got it. Do not plan on waiting for such a long time again.

We went for the tacos! They had a wide range of tacos, they are a little small, but with great flavor, and I like the way they come out wrapped in foil. The carnitas were the best though! That and the service. Our waiter Robert was super cool and attentive. The atmosphere was very nice. They do a great job of keeping it cool. The interesting thing is there is no inside. Everything is outdoor dining. The restrooms were very clean too!

Saw the sign on the way to our hotel and decided that we Had to check them out. Hubby and I went to eat there the next day for lunch and this place did Not disappoint. The atmosphere is great. The servers are very friendly and attentive and the food is amazing! I ordered the Donald nachos, which have shrimp and lobster, a spicy mayo and a mango salsa on them. So good! The portions are huge! So prepare to get a to go box! Great place. We will definitely come back next trip!

Wifey found this cantina online and in coupon book. Your myrtle beach coupon book offers usually BOGO tacos or free 3-way chips and salsa. We loved our food. Kind of an indoor/outdoor seating situation, lots of tvs, and food was great quality. I got hungry hippo nachos and they were delectable. Wifey got bang bang shrimp and beef tacos and said bang bang shrimp tacos was amazing!

Blah. That’s the first word to come to mind. The good: cool ambiance and good live music. The bad: the food, the drinks, the service. House margarita is only $ 3, which sounds awesome, until you order it and realize that it’s just sugared margarita mix that has been sitting out all day. Don’t waste your $ 3 ordering one. Chips were very greasy. Queso with chorizo was actually just a bowl of watery chorizo with MAYBE s tablespoon of queso. Grilled baja taco was literally the blandest piece of white fish I’ve ever had. It was super soggy and had no grill marks, tasted like a piece of frozen fish that had been microwaved. I had to take limes from the bar to make it edible. I have no desire to revisit.

Great atmosphere and food! They have a great outdoor set up with a fire pit, and swings, etc so its a great place to be when the weather is warm. Nachos are amazing, and the servers are typically friendly and helpful. The only time there’s ever been an issue, is when I’ve been there with larger groups, and the servers seemed overwhelmed and got some of the checks wrong, which is completely understandable and happens. Over all though, always a great time and experience!

We love this funky restaurant with their beach themed décor and open outdoor seating up near BareFoot Landing. We usually enjoy their house margarita and try a different nacho creation each time we go, so far we tried the first four and they were all great! It can get windy sometime and I take a hoodie on those days. The staff are wonderful too!

The food is great and the atmosphere is amazing! They don’t take reservations and with a table of 14 it took some waiting, but well worth the wait. Our waiter was fast and efficient. We will be back!

We have only been in myrtle beach for 5 days and we have eaten here 3 times. It’s amazing! The rock’n lobsta taco is fresh and packed with flavor. The make your own nachos are delicious. The ‘naked’ nachos are $ 7 and not at all naked. They come with queso, melted cheese, pico de gallo, lettuce, and sour cream. These are plenty to share as an appetizer and more than enough for a meal! Their $ 3 house margaritas are delicious and have plenty of alcohol! I can’t recommend this place enough! They have good music playing with the option of indoor or outdoor seating!

Cool place to hang out and have some drinks. $ 3 margaritas all day everyday. Awesome atmosphere with indoor and outdoor tables + TVs. It would be a great place to go just to enjoy the weather and have a few… or a lot of drinks. I got the Fire In The Hole Nachos. They were really good, but not as spicy as described. Every chip had something good on it. A lot of reviewers complained about having to pay for chips and salsa. I so agree, BUT this is a Mexican restaurant ran by Americans, so it’s not going to be your typical Mexican food or the typical Mexican restaurant experience. It is owned by the same restaurant group that owns River City Café. It’s located right across from Barefoot Landing(behind the McDonald’s). Update: Don’t sit outside when the wind is gusty. There’s a sand pit out there and sand was blowing into our face, drinks and food. Super gross. Cool idea to add to the atmosphere, but another one or two tables could be there instead.

Decided to try this restaurant because we just love Mexican food… The place has a real nice fire pit at the entrance to sit at while you wait to be seated… This is an outdoor venue with plastic garage door walls, heaters for the colder months of the year, party lights hanging from the ceiling, high-top tables and regular tables. Certain days they have music. We were seated right away. I ordered sangria and DH ordered Dos Equis beer which we both enjoyed. Waiter had to open the garage door walls to bring in tables it got real cold real fast! Burrrr… I ordered Sriracha Chicken — Boneless chicken breast gently marinated with cilantro-lime, grilled, and topped with melted Sriracha queso and shredded cheese. Served on yellow rice w/a side of seasoned black beans 10.95… Chicken was a little chewy. DH had Carnitas — Crispy, slow roasted pork, seasoned black beans and yellow rice. With guacamole, pico, cilantro, onion, pepper jack cheese, fresh lime and choice of corn or flour tortillas 13.95. DH liked his choice. Manager Justin noticed that I wasn’t to pleased with my order so he brought over some chips and salsa… which was nice. Then on the end of the evening he took our bill and took off the food and we just paid for our drinks. Thanks Justin! Will give Nacho Hippo another chance in the future!

This place has done an excellent job with their branding and décor. The curb appeal is amazing and definitely draws you in. I was craving Mexican food, you know… chips, salsa, burritos or Fajitas. Sadly, this place doesn’t offer the typical free chips. And then they charge you for salsa. They didn’t have burritos not fajitas. Is it just me, or is that really really really odd for a place that says Mexican Cantina on their sign? The service was horrible and they even charged me for food that was cancelled… Though the dude never canceled it so all of a sudden it was my fault? BADBADBAD service. I should have consulted the Unilocal review prior to going in. People were very generous for the average to be 3. Taco Bell would have been better…

I’d give another ½ star if there was an option. Food is good & flavorful. Variety of tacos, chorizo, gringo pork, kamikaze tuna, & Rikki Tilki chicken I’ve had. Queso dip with chorizo rocked! Margaritas good but not consistent, I had 3& all tasted variably different. Not a big deal but would rather have a complementary basket of chips &1 kind of salsa than pay for 3 different salsas.

The nachos were exactly what I wanted. My server, Sarah, was great and personable. I spoke with Justin, the manager, and they were very accommodating of my food allergy. Great atmosphere. I will definitely be returning.
