I had the pulled pork sandwich it was good. The slaw that comes with its literally two bites THAT’s It! The sandwich is good. Nothing spectacular. My boyfriend got the full rack of ribs. Mostly fat. Disappointed to say the least

Very nice and clean restaurant. Food was really good. I had the ribs. They were awesome. Meat fell off of the bone. My daughter had the chicken fritters(tenders). And fried corn. She said they both were really good. I would definitely go back. The wait staff was really good too.

My husband is always on the search for good BBQ when we go to North Myrtle Beach. We saw Smokin’ Hot during our first nights visit to Barefoot Landing. The menu looked good so we tried it the next day. We went around 3Pm on a Sunday. No one at the outdoor hostess stand was very friendly. The hostess led us in and to a table. It was not crowded at all. Our waitress was not very friendly. When you work for tips, we expect more. Plus, you are living at the beach, most of us can only dream! She seemed miserable. I got the chicken fingers and got two sides, fries, and Mac n cheese. My husband got the pulled pork sandwich. My meal was good, my husband said his was ok, nothing spectacular. The fries seemed a bit chewy, like they sat under a warming light for awhile. Not sure we will make a point to come back after the poor service experience and ok food.

We had dinner here tonight. The bbq ribs and shrimp were really tender and not over smokey. Our waitress was very friendly and the service was prompt! Must have the s’mores for desert!

Food was pretty good for the price. The service was good, quick, and friendly. We got in pretty quickly even with a party of 8. I had a burger and it was good. My kiddos had chicken fingers and enjoyed them with all the sauce choices. It wasn’t anything super special, but it was a reasonably priced, good meal, in Barefoot Landing and a nice stop during an evening of walking and shopping.

Tried this place out yesterday while boating. Food was ok, nothing special. Just had a bacon burger, will try something else next time to be fair. Pricing average for Barefoot Landing area. The wait staff was great though. I didn’t get her name(nice young lady with short hair and tattoos). She was fast, efficient and constantly checking on how we were doing.

Barefoot Landing was awesome, but this place… NOT. The food was ok, not the best BBQ I have had. My family is down here with another family for the week and we all shared the same thoughts about the restaurant in general. We sat outside. Our waitress was not nice at all and had absolutely no personality, if it were not for this one aspect, I probably would have bumped my stars up at least 1 spot. I had the Pulled pork BBQ and it came on a kaiser roll and 3 different sauces were brought out. I tried the«Sweet & Sassy»…it was neither. We each had younger members of the family that don’t really partake in BBQ, and wanted the Grilled cheese. We were abruptly informed that that was for 10 and under and we could order the full priced BBQ and Cheese and have the BBQ removed. Note: If you do this ask for the BBQ they pull off on the side… you are paying for it, you might as well get it. We did not do that and wished we had later. Tourist trap restaurant and you are treated like one… beware.

My husband and I are locals and decided to try Smokin’ Hot out for the first time recently. I got the shrimp and fritters and enjoyed it. I got hushpuppies and coleslaw as a side. I would advise not to get the fried shrimp and hushpuppies as they are fried with the exact same breading so they taste the same. My husband got the hot dog with pulled pork. He really enjoyed it. We did think that the hot dog was going to be a bit bigger than it was but for the price we couldn’t complain. We will definitely go back and bring our guests! Our server, Savannah, was fantastic!

Excellent service, the food came quickly, and our pulled pork with the sweet and sassy bbq sauce was very tasty. The mac n cheese was good. The fried corn wasn’t for me. Price was reasonable and the atmosphere was perfect for a quick dinner with our three kids.

This is the first time I ever left a restaurant hungry. My daughter had fried shrimp which had no flavor. My husband & I had a whole rack each left with what we got. They were terrible. We love dry ribs and what they call is smokeless gooey dry rub ribs sucked. Sides were ok Brunswickstew fried corn & green beans. Fried pickles were not to bad the chicken quesadilla were the only thing that I was half way decent along with the sides I mentioned. What a waste of money will never go again. P. S. I even tried it with all the sauces but nothing made the ribs taste good.

Being a local, and passing this place every time we are at Barefoot Landing, we often said we were going to try this place out. Having been to most of the restaurants in Barefoot, yesterday was the day. Walking by, there was someone outside the front door offering samples of pulled pork. Tried a sample and walked in. We had a party of four, we got a table inside where we could see the water as well as watch the games as March Madness was under way. We ordered drinks, and as a lover of draught beer, was disappointed when told they only have bottle beer. They had a small selection, thought since they had just bottles, they would have more craft beer. The girls got sweet tea, said it was your average tea. We ordered appitizers, a plate of nachos and an order of wings. The wings were good, nice and crispy on the outside, juicy and hot inside. Sauces were on the table if you wanted some heat. The nachos– lousy at best. Put in a microwave and didn’t melt all the cheese together. All the chips on the bottom didn’t have anything on them, so by the time you got to the middle of the plate, alls that was left was cold cheese, and a pile of chips. We ordered, three of us got a half rack of ribs, one got the pulled pork platter. The ribs were ok. Not falling off the bone, lot of fat. The rub was ok, but chewy ribs are just not enjoyable. My side of green beans was good, but my side of macaroni and cheese was cold. How hard is it to nuke a two spoon container of macaroni and cheese? The wife got grilled corn, said it was good, but her fries were hard. The Cole slaw side was two fork fulls at best. My friend got the pulled pork platter, said it was ok. Nothing to rave about. The service started out great, but as time went on, I think our waitress forgot about us. My wife filled her own sweet tea twice, and I could have had a couple more beers but never got the chance to order. I usually judge a good restaurant by one I will come back and visit again. This one will be avoided as there are plenty of places around that we haven’t tried yet!

As a local, tried this place for the first time. Prices are reasonable. 10 – 15 dollars for dinner entrees that is plenty of food. BBQ burrito was tasty, and huge! Taco trip was plenty including the two sides. This is good BBQ, not really spicy or saucy but what u would expect from a BBQ in a tourist plaza and is trying to appeal to everyone. Service was reasonable and friendly. This place is worth a shot for a reasonable dinner That’s different from a chain, with a nice view and near everything.

The pulled pork BBQ sandwich I ordered was good and my husband enjoyed his burger and seasoned fries. My hush puppies were tasty but a little overdone. The service was very friendly but very slow. Really slow. That’s why I can only give it 3 stars.

Our experience was average! We had a party of 7 and the guy at the door told us it would be a 25 min wait. We didn’t mind waiting since there were other stores around to browse in to help kill the time. When we got called that they were ready for us, we walked in and there were at least 10 tables completely empty, which left us wondering why we waited so long for a table. Our server was average; made sure our drinks were filled and brought chips to try the sauces. The food was good; typical BBQ. Nothing extra special; I’ve had better. We were able to use the 15% off in the coupon booklets that are sitting all over Myrtle Beach. If you decide to eat here, definitely request to sit on the patio. There is a gorgeous view of the water and a marina(we didn’t know about this seating around until we finished dinner).

I am shocked to see this many negative reviews! The negative reviews trick you; try for yourself if you visit area! I went to this place twice while I was visiting Myrtle Beach. Service was amazing Jennifer and Alex were very attentive and pleasant. Food: pulled pork platter with Mac and cheese and fries were delicious! Coleslaw yet small was a perfect two bites. My friend had ribs with beans and fries. Ribs were moist and fell off the bone. Great with or without the sauce. If you have kids it is a must to try the smores dessert. So much fun! Best part of the place was the moonshine drinks. Look forward to going again next month when I visit SC !

Ok, I travel all over and follow Unilocal reviews almost every time I can when choosing a new restaurant, but I have to tell you the 2 stars are so undeserving for this spot. I’m not sure what the others were looking for but the service and food here was better than most in the Boardwalk area. Wings were amazing, the GM even sold us some of the«secret» rub to take home at an unbelievably low cost. I will agree that it is a bit tucked away but there is plenty of parking and easy access. And again, plenty of great food choices and well deserving of 4 stars from any true BBQ fan. I’m giving them 5 stars in hopes that others give them a chance and prove the 2 star review wrong.

Color me not impressed. Ordered take out. The ribs were decent but no sauce provided. None. Made for uninteresting ribs. Other sides were pre-prepared and meh. Ordered a side salad and asked for extra tomatoes because my daughters wouldn’t eat their sides. Made that clear. Guy said no problem. Side salad had NO tomatoes. Was iceberg, some cheese, and two onion slices. Ordered a beer while I was waiting and bartender stiffed me on some change. Did he think it was a guaranteed gratuity? Typical tourist trap. We are here every year. On to the next trap, I guess

Terrible. This is not a true BBQ place. They do have pulled pork, chicken and ribs, but no brisket, no sausage. Shrimp were fried, not barbecue. Sweet potato fries were covered in cinnamon and sugar, and cooked far too long. The pulled pork sandwich was small, and the meat dry. The coleslaw that comes as a side was served in a tiny cup — the size that most places put salad dressing in. They charge you $.50 to get pickles on your sandwich. Service was terrible. The barbecue sauce bottles that were brought to the table were filthy, with dried sauce all over the tips of the bottles. The only upside was the moonshine cocktails. We had the Black Betty and Caramel Apple. Both were delicious — but hardly any alcohol. Avoid this place.

I don’t know why the review for this place is so low either. We were skeptical also. Therefore we started out with the sampler(ribs and 2 sliders + dab size of slaw). This was very good. So we ordered 3 sliders(2 chicken &1 pulled pork). There were also very good. Except for the dab of slaw, we did not have any sides. I am rating the BBQ meat. The slaw is perfect for tartness and amount for the sliders; and freshly made. You get 6BBQ sauces to use as desired. Margaritas were $ 4& $ 5; a very good price. Good too. Our server, Verneice(Neicy) was attentive, smiling & efficient. Water view on one side and a parking lot on the other side. The interior is modern with booths along the walls. The bathroom was very clean & the sink water gets hot. It’s ironic when I see signs telling workers they must wash their hands using soap & warm water & the facet water is ice cold no matter how long it runs. We were here for lunch. Give this place a try.
