Unfortunately I do not leave ratings often, but this situation warranted one. My wife and I were in the process of getting a quote from waxman’s and our experience was terrible. First, the showroom is absolutely terrible and outdated. At least update the carpet!!! I mean c’mon man. The lighting absolutely kills any chance you’d have to possibly imagine what a piece of their inventory would like in the real world. Second, no pictures allowed. I mean zero! We got a quote and I wanted a copy so I snapped a picture. Another sales person very rudely called me out on it in front of the people we were working with. I paid for the measurement. That quote is mine. so I’ll take copy if I want it. If you don’t want people taking pics of carpet samples… I get that, but my personal quote?! C’MON man! Lastly, it makes sense they don’t want you to take any pictures because the pricing is absolutely outrageous! A big box store or wholesaler is the way to go. Do yourself a favor… Don’t waste your time coming here for any carpet or rug needs.

My parents recently built a new home and went to Waxman’s to purchase area rugs for several rooms with hardwood floors. They have purchased several area rugs from there in the past. They chose one and were told it was a brand new pattern and would take 4 – 6 weeks to arrive. After 6 weeks and hearing nothing regarding delivery my mother called to check on the status. She was told it would arrive in approximately 10 days, they apologized for the delay, and offered complimentary delivery. When the rug arrived my father picked it up as opposed to waiting for the delivery, as they were anxious to finally have it in their home. As soon as the plastic wrap was removed they could tell that this was not the very expensive rug that they had ordered. After calling the store and being told that the wrong rug must have been ordered, they returned their purchase to the store. Upon arriving to the store they were told several different accounts of how they had ended up with the wrong rug. Ultimately, it was determined that the store never placed the order, by the time they attempted to place the order(presumably after my mother had called to check on the status) they discovered that this«brand new pattern» had been discontinued, and then ordered a similar rug to substitute for the one they had failed to order in hopes that my parents would not notice that this was not their original purchase. In the end, their money was refunded, however it is unfortunate that a business that has been present in the community for so many years has such decietful practices.

The Good: They were nice and courteous when I purchased the carpeting and were able to come through on a time crunch. The Bad: Their installers left carpet scraps and shavings all over the house and did not vacuum. About a year and a half later I have carpet coming up in the hallway and they refused to fix it due to a 1 year labor warranty. They offered to cut the service fee in half($ 75) but I don’t believe that is good enough. The carpeting should not be coming up after only 1.5 years. My mothers carpeting purchased at Lowes is absolutely fine after 5+ years and was a lot cheaper, I would just go to Lowes for my next carpet purchase.
