This has been our favorite steakhouse in our area for many years, but what happened last night will probably make it our last visit. We sat at the bar and ordered the large Filet Mignon, Medium-Rare, to split. The Menu price for the steak was $ 51. However, the restaurant misrepresented the cut of meat and made a substitution of something else that may have looked like Filet, but was not. It was round and thick, and cooked to the proper temperature, but the meat was dry and very grainy. As I was taking my first cut, it seemed odd, having to saw through it, and the meat, which should be buttery and smooth, was rippled. This was NOT Filet Mignon.

This review is for Ruth Chris in City Place Don’t waste your time and money here!!! I brought my son here, hoping to enjoy a «one of a kind» experience dining for the two of us, for we can not ever normally spend this kind of money on a single dinner night. We both ordered steaks well done but they came out«burnt to a crisp». We got the lobster mac & cheese,(my son is a huge fan of both), that was disgusting and very watery! I ordered a Mai tai… Believe it or not, it was so very strong, it burned my throat! The only thing that was decent was the creamed spinach but even that was not worth $ 9! Our server’s name was Joeseph, he was rude, acted as if he was better than us, with his nose in the air. He had a «assistant«that did most of his work and he was rude to him as well, telling him what to do, not even saying please! I did pay the whopping $ 157.00 plus a $ 30 tip just because I did not want to ruin anything for my son but if I had to do it all over again, I would have sent everything back and walk right out!!! We will never ever go back there again!!! Rip off!!!

I don’t even know where to begin. Perhaps with the chain, itself. I always equated Ruth’s Chris with a Longhorn or Outback Steakhouse. I could not have been more wrong. Ruth’s Chris is fine dining, from its quiet well appointed décor, to its discreet staff, who bend over your shoulder to ask if there is anything else she could get you. I got there around 5, just when happy hour started. A fellow patron filled me in while I combed through the menus: $ 9 drinks, and same food, but much cheaper. But I wanted a steak dinner(I did take advantage of the drink and got a two-fisted Manhatten that was perfectly balanced. I scanned the dinner menu, until I lit upon the meal I had envisioned: steak salad(?) with blue cheese dressing, ribeye, creamed spinach, pinot noir and banana cream pie. The salad was fresh and came with marble-size chunks of bleu cheese. The cheese was fresh and so good, I was sucking the dressing off the leaves in hopes of finding more chunks. Next up the ribeye. Cooked to my med. rare order without any spice trickery that I could tell. When meat’s this good, it does’t need anything but salt and pepper. The creamed spinach was warm, gooey and I used it as a dipping sauce for the steak. The only downfall was the banana cream pie. The cream was a little runny for my taste, but it was a pretty little thing, and I managed to eat the toasted bananas that were covered with glistening sugar droplets. Save your money and go for the food and the experience or hit the bar at happy hour and savor your good time.

Love Ruth’s but this location is a bit long in the tooth. The food was good, as usual, but the dining experience was too noisy for a $$$$ restaurant. Could not hold a simple conversation at our table. In addition, the décor was dated and the staff dysfunctional. I’m never disappointed by Ruth’s but this time… the experience was well below my expectations.

The reputation of this establishment is highly regarded in the area of Southern Florida of which I am accustomed to frequent this time of the year. A reservation is a must on a weekend eve. The place was packed as expected. I was at my table within 5min of the scheduled time. My server was James who seemed familiar and was very accommodating. Warmed bread was brought to the table with room-temperature butter. I did not order any alcoholic beverages this visit. I perused the menu and decided on a price-fixed menu which included the 3courses for $ 55.95. Be prepared to pay dearly for their Signature Steaks and the sides are a la carte. The ribeye steak was cooked medium to my liking. The smashed potatoes were well-seasoned and the spinach was a bit mundane-tasting. The dessert lacked any spark to my palate. Coffee was excellent and bottomless. Overall it’s a nice experience if you’re willing to pay for it. I do have one suggestion: if you order the price-fixed item, ask for a larger plate so you can put all your sides on it, instead or having 3diff plates cluttering your table.

Although this is a chain, it’s the best of its kind. The food is great, Angela, Martin and Cheyanne are all so sweet

Bartender Angela was very busy during happy hour. And cranky mood but the drinks were good. Dinner in the dining room was very good. Burger was prime but a bit overdone. Fries not very crisp. Cheyenne was an absolute sweetheart and made the evening so much fun. Atmosphere and décor A+ Dessert and coffee well worth it. Cheesecake was yummy with fresh berries. I’ll definitely be back

Requested a nice table for two, seated in a booth for six by the exit and the servers order station. Wedge salad was dry and overwhelming with blue cheese chunks, maybe a tablespoon of bacon. Entrée was served before the salad plates were removed. We had to hand the plates to the server so he could put the Hot entrée plates on the table. My dining partner touched the very hot plate, no mention from the server about the 500 degree hot plates. Was not given a steak knife… had to ask for one. I noticed lobster tails being removed table-side for other diners… ours were served in the shell. Filet of beef was cooked to perfection but the meat was a little fatty and gristly. Disappointed!

I frequent Ruth Chris in Parsippany, NJ often. The Ruth Chris in Parsippany, NJ is outstanding; you feel like you are dining at the high end steakhouses in NYC. I was visiting friends and family in the Palm Beach area and decided to go to Ruth Chris. Since we decided last minute we could only get a reservation at 8:30pm. The group was three 25 year old guys. We elected to arrive at 7:30 for drinks, upon checking in the host informed us he wouldn’t be able to seat us until 8:30 despite there being some empty tables; which was expected. We went to the small bar and had a couple of drinks which were excellent. After the hour went by we were seated at a table that was empty the entire time we sat at bar. The waitress comes over, her name is Ann Marie. Ann Marie begins to talk to us in a childish way. Now I understand we are on the younger side of the clientele at this particular Ruth Chris but don’t treat us any differently. We taste a couple of wines and decide on a bottle of wine to order. We than procede to order a pretty large order: –Crab Cakes –Caesar Salad — Chop Salad(x2) –Porterhouse for 2 with 6 additional Shrimp — Mashed Potatoes –Cream Spinach — Grilled Asparagus Throughout the meal the staff is constantly filling our water cups and treating us great except Ann Marie continues to treat us like kids. the salads came out they were a little on the small side. The Crab Cake came out it looked like it fell apart and they just shoved it on a plate, we asked Ann Marie for tarter sauce because it was a little dry and she said(looking at us like we had 10 heads) she could only offer us A-1 sauce or dijon mustard, neither of which I want on my crab cake. We finished the appetizers and about 25 minutes go by we finish the wine and our entrees haven’t arrived yet. While Ann Marie is standing in the corner another waitress Carol comes up to our table and says Ann Marie forgot to put the rest of our meal into the kitchen, it will be out as soon as possible. This is when everything went way down hill. I understand she made a mistake but Ann Marie wouldn’t even come tell us herself and to top it off a manager didn’t even come over during this ordeal. About another 20 minutes go buy and our steak and sides come out. To our surprise the steak and shrimp are cooked to perfection. Some of the sides were a little cold though. As Ann Marie brought the food over it was her first time facing us since she forget to put the food into the kitchen. She apologized and said dessert would be on her. Now we needed to order another bottle of wine to go with dinner since we finished ours during the 45 – 60 minute wait period. At this point we asked for a manager. The manager, whose name is Jeremy, finally comes over to our table for the first time all meal. Doesn’t explain anything to us, apologizes to for the waitress screw up and says the 2nd bottle of wine is on him. We finish all the food and order coffee and dessert. We are now onto hour 3 of our meal; point to note is no Ruth Chris dinner should ever last this long. The coffee comes out room temperature(took about 10⁄15 minutes) and we ask for the check. When the check comes the only thing that was taken off was the bottle of wine. We ask to speak to the manager again we explain everything that went wrong with the meal, the amount of time this meal took, the lack of professionalism of Ann Marie(although we gave her the benefit of the doubt and assume she is new), the presentation of the appetizers, and the temperature of sides and coffee, in addition to the fact that Ann Marie told us dessert would be comped and it wasn’t. Jeremy comes back about 5 minutes later gives us the check and had taken an additional $ 60 off. Immediately following the check Ann Marie comes over to the table with an attitude and says she is sorry the meal to not live up to her expectations, we shouldn’t leave her a tip. And is constantly hounding us that we shouldn’t leave a tip saying its her fault don’t tip her. Now we are not harsh people we understand waitstaff make most of their money in tips so we weren’t going to do that. We left her a 15% tip on the original amount. Once the situation got into Jeremy’s hands he should have handled it differently. The meal should have been completely comped, or at least cut in half. Additionally once something goes wrong in his restaurant he should approach the customer and not wait until we ask to speak to him. He was aware of the food not being put into the kitchen he should have come over to the table with Ann Marie, not send another waitress. I hope this particular Ruth Chris does a better job in training their staff and Ruth Chris corporation spends more time training their managers how to properly address customer service in the hospitality industry. I hope to see improvements next time I am in the area.

Been ages since last visit to a Ruth’s. Had the prix fixe ribeye for dinner. Came out as expected – delicious! Creamed spinach still the thing to get for me. Unfortunately everything’s so much pricier now but still get your $‘s worth.

We eat here at least twice a month. We always share the huge aged bone in RibEye. The bread and butter is so fresh. Our favorite side dish is the sweet potato casserole. They have great wines by the glass. We always have quick courteous service. We go out to dinner every night. This is one of our favorites. Its consistently good everywhere.

I’ve eaten at many Ruth’s Chris Steak Houses going back over 30 years. With one exception, I can’t recall a bad meal and given their positioning and pricing that’s expected and no surprise. Although through the years this chain has kept pace with changing habits and the high cost of eating out by offering complete 3-course prix fixe meals, rather than an only ala carte menu. I think RC was a better experience then but this is probably a smart business decision and has positioned them as clearly the mass market«upscale» steakhouse, including kids and the occasional customer in shorts and a tee shirt. This was our first visit to this location and I was pleased when I compare it to experiences at other locations. 1. The interior is more«steakhouse» like then many other locations with dark woods etc. Some RC’s are brightly lit and look more appropriate to be a country club dining room. This location is still not the type of dark and«manly» interiors I crave from the old days when places like the first RC’s I visited in Dallas or when the Palm and Morton’s had just a couple of major locations. 2. We previously have had servers although professional and seemingly experienced lacked some maturity and not quite up to the level of service they should be. That was not the case of our recent meal at this location. We were fortunate to have Louie as our server who clearly knew exactly how it’s done. He told us he had been at this location many years and it showed. A great server makes for an exceptional meal. 3. Started with the Tempura Onion rings with a honey Thai dipping sauce that were excellent. This is a change and improvement from the breaded«tower» of rings previously served. My wife had a Caesar salad large enough to share and topped with lots of delicious shaved Parmesan although it was a bit underdressed. Cocktails here, which I’m sure are pricey(never looked), are a very full pour and their blue cheese olives are a wonderful addition to iced cold vodka. 4. We had family style servings of Creamed Spinach, Potatoes Au Gratin and a fresh corn, red and green pepper medley. The corn was somewhat overpowered by the flavor of the green pepper. 5. Filets ordered were perfectly cooked, crusty and tender as expected and to my pleasant surprise were offered with no-charge Bearnaise sauce. Louie advised this location never charged for this delicious sauce, which was not the case at a Sarasota location we visited often. That location charged a few bucks which I always found incredibly petty. 6. A shared crème brûlée with berries topped off the evening. There are very few drawbacks to living in the less major cities in Florida and Ruth’s Chris along with the Capital Grille do fill the need when you want to indulge in excellent food, service and damn the cost!

I’m concerned that if I sing the praises of the happy hour deals here on Unilocal,I’ll never get a cozy table in the lounge again. The prices are great, the food is so very tasty, and the drinks pretty much rock my world. Perfect spot to stop in on the way home from work with my coworkers. When you work right off of RT1, and live right off of RT1, it’s a no brainer – I love my little neighborhood. It’s a secret, so don’t tell anyone

I’ve been to maybe 30 of this franchise or company stores around the country. Always(usually) great steak, service and atmosphere. The few tough or tasteless pieces of meat encountered at even the finest steak houses are always exchanged with no questions asked. A few stores have always been favorites and this is one. Like other stores, you pay the price, but for special occasions and steak is what you are looking for, service and food are as good as it gets in North Palm. Holiday menus are always good and I’ve had several thanksgiving and Christmas dinners here when no large family was home to entertain. The bar area here is great to eat at, especially early for happy hour which starts at 4:30. This place fills up most every night, so get reservations. Too bad the days of «Ruth’s Table» frequent diners nationwide special reservation line was so short lived! I still love Ruth Chris and feel it’s the best chain steak house in US, plus there are lots of stores.

Ruths Chris is a good steak house but it depends on the location in my experience. I’ve been to good ones and bad ones. And then I’ve been to excellent ones — once — and that’s this location. The steak was fantastic, the service was great… really as good as it gets. I don’t know why one steak tastes different than another depending on the location but I assume it’s good management — or in the case of this location — excellent management.

Love this place! The best of the traditional steakhouses. They have lots of options for us non-steak eaters. The bar staff is very friendly. Excellent happy hour choices. I love the chopped salad and BBQ shrimp. Yum!

Here is a tip, go there for Happy Hour. Mon — Fri they have happy hour and have $ 7 meals. I ordered the steak sandwich, which came with fries. The sandwich was amazing. The steak just melts in your mouth. The only negative I can give, is that the portions are small(well for me, someone who loves to eat!) They also have great drink specials for happy hour. I will agree that the décor is lacking a bit, but overall, this is a great place to eat.

I celebrated a family member’s birthday here not too long ago and was really pleased with our service. We were greeted by confetti on our table and the server was so personable and friendly and just made us feel really at ease. I got the filet, which was undercooked at first, but sent it back and when it came out, it was perfect. Not too big, and cooked just right. The sweet potato casserole was the BEST thing on the menu though. I even mentioned it to my server who ended up bringing me the recipe after our meal was done! I also had dessert, a crème brûlée kind of dessert, which was really fantastic. It came with a cookie and it was all so decadent and rich. Wish I could eat like this all the time! What a wonderful experience.
