I went to Cho’s because it is one of the only places around that still repairs electronics. I dropped off a surround sound unit for a relatively minor repair. The amp worked, but the preamp didn’t. I told them that I wasn’t in a hurry. I expected a call back letting me know it was fixed. Several months went by, and no call. I assumed they were ordering parts. I finally called and they said, sorry for the delay, they hadn’t looked at it. They promised to look at it and call me back the following Monday. No call back. Several more months went by, and I finally stopped in to find out what the story was. They had not even started work on it. They said they weren’t able to find parts for it, but I’m not convinced they even took it apart. They refunded my $ 35 deposit. I gave them 2 stars because they were nice people and polite, but I was disappointed that after nearly 2 years, the unit was not repaired. Moral of the story, ask them if they can fix it, and get a date from them on when it will be fixed, then keep calling.
