I am from Cicero and I was around when this place first opened in 2007(I think I was there the first or second week?), and I had a pretty poor experience — the food wasn’t great and the service was middling. I informed the manager, who sent me gift certificates to induce me to come back, which I did not do for a while. Years pass by, I moved out of town, and when I came back to visit in or about 2011, my friends wanted to go to Coppertop Tavern. I gave them my «I had a bad experience there a while back» speech and voiced my opposition. We went all the same, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the improvement in both the quality and variety of the food and the quality of service. I have had about a half dozen dishes there since then(when I come back home usually), and all are pretty-to-very good. Beer selection is good and prices are reasonable. It has now become the default option for food when I come back to Syracuse. Now to be fair, its not the best food I’ve ever had or anything to that caliber, but everything I have ordered there since 2011 has been«very solid» or better. I would say based on the above and the expansive menu, a place I once wrote off now rates a solid 4⁄5.

Copper Top is my recommendation to anyone looking for a good place to eat in Cicero. With such a long menu, it has food to please anyone in your group. The portions are big enough for two meals so I always take half home and eat it twice. Burgers are great, pizza is great, salads are great… All American good food.

Coppertop is one of my favorites! I haven’t tried one menu item that I didn’t like. Great beer selection, too. I have no complaints about Coppertop.

This place has the best wings. One such is the Jamaican wings. Caribbean shrimp was super tasty. They also have a good drink menu with good beers too. Definitely a recommended place for a fantastic dinner.

The popularity of this place is almost historic. This place can go on an hour long wait on any average Wednesday dinner. CT tavern is what Red Lobster used to be in the late 80’s. A dimly lit atmosphere with a lot of faux wood to convince you that you’re not eating at Applebee’s but also soothe your wallet to believe you’re not at The Waldorf-Astoria. It’s where proud parents bring there recently graduated teenager. Once you get past the wait and generally confused hostesses, the food is… fine. The ad filled menu may convince your stomach you’ve found Nirvana but your head may smell the extra money spent on creative writing. Most items fall short or just barley meet their mouth watering descriptions. A pondering scenero goes as such: ” I’ll have a burger”. «How would you like that cooked»? «Medium-rare». “We can only cook to medium or higher”. «Why? What’s wrong with your meat»? Perplexed look by server. The vast beer menu and creative mixed drinks saves this from a boring 2 star rating. The food is descent if you stick with pizza or pasta. I’d recommend going if you’re not hungry, you will be by the time you sit down.

Been coming here since they opened at this spot. Can honestly say that I/we’ve never had a bad meal here. Stopped in for lunch the other day. Ordered the soup and sandwich special off of their express lunch menu. Tavern Ale soup was spot on; chicken salad sandwich was piled high with meat and was served with an abundance of fries. All that food for just $ 7.99(?)? Crazy. Food came to the table in about ten minutes. Good service– good food… that’s why we keep coming back here.

Food was OK. Beer selection was fantastic. Service at the bar was slow when we first arrived(though they didn’t seem to be busy), but it picked up and bartenders were great once they got chatting with us.

Food is excellent, large portions, great taste. I love the show string fries they are always crispy and hot! Just had fish n chips on my bday yesterday and that was amazing with the Irish egg rolls. I typically order vegetarian meals, the Grilled Veggie sandwich is so delicious!!! I love it. Service has always been nice even when they are packed busy. Had a super sweet waitress Samantha last night and she gets props bc they were super busy and she remembered my ranch dressing!(So many times this gets forgotten by servers) overall great experiences I have had at Coppertop and I will be back

Best: martinis, margherita pizza, Jamaican wings Worst: Italian nachos, too many menu items, music Okay, Italian nachos and bad music probably seem like trivial things to complain about. But when all you want is a plate of reallllyyyy good nachos with beef, cheese and all the fixings, and you are forced to listen to Journey’s «Don’t Stop Believing» every time you’re in, it starts to bother you. Get some normal nachos, CopperTop! Get the radio off the 80s channel and onto something different! All whiny complaints aside, I love this place… It’s one of my favorite Syracuse-area restaurants. The martinis can’t be beat and neither can the draft beer selection. And despite the number of wood-fired pizza places popping up all over the place, CopperTop still has THEBEST margherita pizza I’ve ever tasted. Be sure to arrive a bit before/after normal dinnertime on Friday and Saturdays… Especially if you prefer bar seating. It fills up fast!

This place is one of my favorites in Central NY. Avocado Egg Rolls, Bang Bang Chicken and Shrimp, Pub Burger, or any pizza. There I saved you a lot of time. Great selection of beers. I’ve never had a martini yet but they seem very popular. I’ve been here many, many times and service has always been great. Check this place out; you won’t regret it.

Owned by the same family that owns the Tully’s local chain, CopperTop boasts a well-stocked menu of American & global fare, plus weekday happy hour, in a TV-lined pub setting, started is 2007. Like its predecessor, CopperTop does everything pretty well, just in a different way. More of a pub themed restaurant, CopperTop is decorated with beautiful wood accents and a huge bar right in the middle. Their menu has twists on American favorites and American twists on global dishes as well. Their Pepperoni Chicken Pasta is my absolute favorite dish there. But I’ve never had a bad meal. Their portion sizes are huge. Service has never been bad. Prices are a buck or two more a meal than similar restaurants, but nothing too crazy expensive. I recommend it. Delicious dishes, good service.

Hands down this place is usually awesome! There is nothing fancy about it but if you want good food, a variety of options in a comfy atmosphere go here! I have enjoyed everything from the fish tacos, lobster mac and cheese, soups, salads on the lighter side menu and even the flatbreads and pizzas. They offer indoor seating in a dim(really dark) but relaxing atmosphere. Family oriented(during day and early evening) but good for a nite out with friends as well. Great local spot. I have never been disappointed until tonight. My boyfriend ordered me lobster mac and cheese for takeout. I’ve eaten this dish several times but tonight it was just God awful. I swear it was immitation crab meat or at least it did not taste as sweet as their usual succulent lobster mac and cheese. So disappointing.

My all time favorite casual dining spot in Syracuse. Always great food, friendly staff and great service. Martinis are the best. Pizzas are creative, fresh and crisp thin crust. Chicken tenders are a must appetizer. Salads have never disappointed. Expect a wait especially on weekends. Great atmosphere, food and drinks.

They make good food. Let’s put that out there. I’ve had countless meals from there with pharmaceutical reps who come in and bring in food from there. Their marinara-based fusilli dish is wonderful, as well as their mashed potatoes and salads. The 2nd time I actually came in the restaurant I had a breaded chicken with salad on top. It was good. The biggest complaint is their willingness to be flexible with groups. I understand the hassle involved with groups, but customers are customers. It’s almost inappropriate to be «selective» with groups bigger than others. Why is 6 the magical cutoff number before splitting becomes a chore? If a restaurant is so good, surely a customer would want to invite his friends. Being accommodating would allow my friends and I to enjoy more of the food and pay less attention to the hassle. This inflexibility was unfortunately the main topic of conversation among my friends towards the last half hour of our dinner there.

Copper top is like a team coached by Bobby Knight, they do the basics well. And they give you huge portions so you definitely won’t leave hungry. Chicken white chili was delicious and their pizza is very crispy with a lot of imaginative topping combinations. This restaurant needs to revisit their check policy for large groups though because they won’t let you split more than 2 checks and they don’t tell you until the end so it creates a massive inconvenience if you’re not aware. I will return but not with big groups of friends like I did today. It’s a shame because the food they serve is typically the crowd pleasing type.

Parking: Ample off street parking available. Restrooms: Clean and presentable. Service: The waitress was excellent. She greeted us promptly and was very attentive throughout our meal. The management seem to really care about the customers. Two different managers visited our table to ensure everything was going well. Food: We ordered the Sweet Fire Chicken Tenders and the Fish & Chips. The food came out quickly and was steaming hot. The portions were very generous. I would definitely recommend the Sweet Fire Chicken Tenders tossed in a sweet ‘n spicy Thai sauce. They were delicious. Summary: Five stars. Highly recommended.

I just want to say that the Bang Bang Chicken & Shrimp is easily my favorite meal in Syracuse. I’d almost say it’s my favorite dish anywhere! Sometimes it’s not as spicy as I like it, but it’s always awesome. Oh, and their lunch special is really good too– especially for the price!
