Just had one of their cheesesteak sandwich, and it was really good. Had lots of meat, peppers and onions with wiz. I got to say that it was a surprise to find a decent CS in Syracuse. The place is a hole in the wall but who cares if you get a good sandwich.

Same old story. My wife and I bought 2 cheese steak sandwiches. They call them the«Belly Filler» to go. My wife ordered mozzarella cheese, mayo and did not get either. I ordered marinara sauce which cost 60 cents, and did not get. Three mistakes on two sandwiches. I read the reviews on Gino’s Original Cheese Steaks after the fact. Missing items for takeout seem happen quite a bit. I’d also like to mention that the sandwiches are average at best. The one That rises to the top is a cheesesteak sandwich, missing cheese! Just to disallow any thought of mistaking the order by us, We were asked twice.

I work in the food world, so after my Hubby’s order was wrong the very first time we ordered, we were chill about it and we aren’t overly picky people so he still ate his meal. It’s fast paced– I get it. People are human. We give it another shot. Order is all sorts of wrong, yet again. My parents grab some to go on their way over to our home and BOTH of their sandwiches were wrong. This time, we are all sort of annoyed and the cheese steak craving STILL isn’t met. Third time, hubby orders in and waits, seems like all is well until he opens it and low and behold, not even close to what he ordered. He calls and explains that we are in the industry and he doesn’t want anything for free– just wants them to pay better attention to the orders. They were very defensive & nasty. Months go by and I today I decide to give it one last try… It’s less than a mile from our home and who doesn’t love a cheesesteak? Well whatta ya know?!! All sorts of shizz on the sloppy sandwich and no WIZ. You have ONEJOB! We finally learned that the place is ran by a bunch of burnouts and good luck to whoever dares to order from such a schwag establishment. We will never be back … I’ll buy some shaved steak from the deli and cheese wiz and a fresh roll & save ourselves the hysteria~ fire it up fellas!

Super greasy overcooked and tasteless. Let me save you eight dollars. Go to the store and buy a package of frozen steakums. All the greasy drippings you would throwaway dump that on top of your sandwich. Now you have a Gino’s cheesesteak sandwich.

Went there for my first time today and loved it. Very friendly employees and great food. The fries are the best in CNY, hands down. I’m dead serious when I say that. I will definitely go there again soon to try some of the various menu items. It’s not just cheesesteaks here!

The first few times I ate here it was 5 stars! The last two times(within about a month) I have noticed they are pre-cooking the steak and then reheating to order. Just my opinion but the taste is not the same. Still good but not 5 star

Been there twice in 2 Weeks to get the Belly Buster Steak Sub. Very good. While I was there another customer told me she was getting the Chicken Wing Sub. She there ealier in the day and it was so good, she came back to get another one for dinner. Fries weren’t anything to brag about. Will definitely make this a regular stop to try some of the other menu items.

Cheesesteaks ! Philly cheesesteaks ! Who doesn’t love them ??? It’s great to have Philly cheesesteaks in Syracuse. except you won’t find them here. The short story is that I visited Gino’s, that appears to try to capitalize on the name of Philly’s famous Genos but, falls miserably short of any Philadelphia authentic famous standards. They claim to «import» their rolls from Philadelphia… well imports aren’t always better. Long story short is I ordered a cheesesteak wiz, wit, fries and a soda which came to 11 bucks. I waited almost 10 minutes until my order was ready(no problem with the wait). The cheesesteak and fries were delivered on a plastic tray with the sandwich very tightly wrapped in wax paper. Why wrap it in paper when I ordered in? I eagerly tried to unwrap my sandwich and encountered wax paper saturated in grease and cheese wiz. Please, place the meat and cheese inside the roll ! I could not even take a picture of the sandwich because my hands were so greasy. I could not find the expected peppers and onions so, I suspect my order was not properly made. Eventually, a cheesesteak was revealed after much unwrapping. The meat was packed in the center and with no meat at the ends. Also, by wrapping the sandwich so tightly, the bread was soggy with grease, the cheese wiz coated the outside of the roll and it was impossible to eat without grabbing a soggy, greasy piece of roll. I have never had a real Philly cheesesteak served on soggy bread like this. The cheese wiz was not of the gendre found in Philly. This cheese wiz was overpowering with its artificial cheddar cheese flavor. To add insult to injury, the meat itself was overcooked and included the unpleasant surprise of burnt, acrid scrapings from the grill. The expected onions, peppers and mushrooms were no where to be found on this sandwich. The fries were golden and delicious looking. While slightly crispy on the outside, they were awfully mushy and entirely flavorless inside. They cost $ 2.50 for a small portion size. By the way, the can of soda was great !

Stopped in to test out the steaks. Got the original, Cheese Whiz & Onions. Staff makes everything to order right in front of you. Lots of neat-looking options beyond the original steak that I’ll have to stop back and try. Got my sandwich to go figuring I’d take it back to work, but I ate the whole thing in the parking lot. Good stuff!
