GBS Brows

Brows on fleek since 2011. I alternate this location and West Springfield depending on whether I’m at home or work. Love both locations equally.

So there are different folks working here on different days — I’ve come here on a variety of days and have had different people thread me. I do not have one complaint except that a couple of times I came right as they were leaving to eat lunch and because there is only one person, I felt guilty having them stay or I came back which messed up my schedule. So now I avoid lunch time and everything is fine.
I’ve read through the comments here and most of the complaints seem to be based off of either henna (which I have no experience with) or that their eyebrows weren’t done how they wished. I’ve been going here for almost two years and I am pretty clear about what I want «I just want my eyebrows cleaned up, angled here, and I want to keep them thick» and they do them perfectly. It is like going into a hair salon — if you want something specific you don’t just step in and say «I want a haircut» and give no other information, you let them know exactly what you want. I would advise to give this place a try for the threading — they are super quick, professional, affordable, and as long as you are clear about what you want, they fulfill those requests!

I’ve gone here more than once to get my eyebrows done, and I love it everytime. Unfortunately, I went in to get henna and it was just awful. It looked as if a child had drawn on me. There was even a picture for reference and it looked not any where close to it. I am extremely disappointed, and very embarrassed to even have it on me. She took off money for it, and apologized because even she knew it wasn’t a great job.

I brought my friends kid in for a henna tattoo, and the girls here were not very friendly, or helpful. The shop was empty, and when we walked in, we got the feeling that we were inconveniencing them? The henna designs were not very nice, but she found one that she liked, and it came out not great, but okay. I thought she was way overcharged for it, but I didn’t say anything because the kid was happy. They didn’t give us any clear information on maintaining it, so we had to Google it, and research it ourselves.
I bought my own henna kit with cones for less than she paid for her one tattoo, and I did about as good as the girl did on my first try, so I am further unimpressed.

First time I went to GBS, the girl that was there did a good job on my eyebrows, kept them thick and just shaped them. I was happy that I had found my go to place and went to them on a 2^nd occasion. The second time around it was a different girl, looked much younger than the one before. Well, she completely butchered my eyebrows… left them so thin and I let her know I was dissatisfied and she made matters worse by being on the defensive. I would rather have bushy eyebrows than super thin ones. Even worse is that I now have a thinning area where she attacked my eyebrows.

Had nice facilities and choices but the actual henna was pretty bad. It was thin and cracked immediately and unfortunately the art was misshapen and didn’t look anything like the original design. Was really exited but this was a dissapointment. :(

Do not recommend. The girl who did my eyebrows (the only working there when I came in) butchered my eyebrows into thin stripes that I hate, so I lost my more natural look. my eyebrows were also irritated for days (eyelid skin)

I’m a big fan of GBS brows because they’re inexpensive, precise and quick. An eyebrow threading costs $ 10 and is as pleasant as getting hair ripped out of your face can be. They’re really open to walk-​ins and I’ve been in and out within 10 minutes if the place is empty.
Great value, awesome technique and they have a punch-​card for frequent threaders.

Disclaimer: I’m picky about my eyebrows. I rarely touch my own, so I need someone who can clean and shape.
I’m a big fan of threading and was a regular customer of Ashu at Moments Spa in Madison, WI. However, not all my threading experiences have been as great as they are at Moments Spa.
This was one of the better ones, because they didn’t butcher them. However, instead of high arch, they rounded them out (which isn’t the style I was looking for). My biggest annoyance was that she said she «fixed» them for me. While mine had grown out, and needed some definite cleaning, they didn’t need to be «fixed.» They did keep them thick. I may try another technician, and explain what I’m looking for.
Other annoyances: they wore gloves, which I think reduced precision, and she wasn’t as skilled as Ashu (ie. more painful). I’d recommend giving them a shot.
