Update! I still think this Quizno’s sucks big time, but two nice employees gave this joint an extra star. I got a honey bourbon chicken sub one weekday over my lunch hour. Two women were working there — one on each side of the industrial-sized toaster. I didn’t see the woman who was loading my sub(Cool Lady #1) put any oregano onto my sandwich, so when the other lady rung me up(Cool Lady #2), the following ensued. Me: Hey, did she put any oregano onto my sandwich? Just curious, sorry. CL #2: Hm…[She asks CL#1 in Spanish if CL#1 did.] CL #1: Ooh… no me acuerdo(translation: I don’t remember). I’m not a Spanish whiz, but I understand wayyy better than I speak. Before I could restrict myself, I found myself saying to CL #1, «Oh, don’t worry about it, that’s fine» before CL#2 could explain anything to me in English. We then had a short conversation in Spanish when they realized I spoke gringa-sized fragments. Good times.

Quizno’s is terrible, and so is this one in Northbrook. How could the village let a place like this exist in their town? Please Quizno’s, leave and let local business take your place. I ordered some kind of sandwich with bacon and avacado and hated it. They put my sandwich through the conveyor oven but it didn’t even cook the bacon at all. Please go away, Quizno’s. If you want a good sandwich, just go right next door to Landmark or even to Sunset Foods, where they have a sandwich bar and a seating area in the grocery store.
