Once they get the old lady out it might be an enjoyable environment.

I love this place!!! My family has been going here since they opened. I know there are other Greek pie places in town but this one is the best.

Fun, divey pizza shop. Totally family-friendly. The pizza is only okay, but the tiramisu is beyond delicious!

Greatest pizza ever! We’ve tried every pizza place south of the river and this is the best. Busy place on the weekends, get there early for a seat.

The gyro pizza is so good! But there service can be better. I ordered to go and had a bad experience with a young lady. But other than that I would for sure get pizza from there.

Thank goodness for Basil’s pizza. My friends and I were starving for some delicious pizza after a late night of poker. Basil’s was the perfect match for our craving!

Wow, it’s the same as when Bill was still alive 40 years ago. The owner, Theologia is there every night. You have to like the cracker crust. Summit on tap, good pizza and good prices with a smile!

The best pizza in Minnesota. Hands down. With impeccable crust paired with the perfect tangy sauce and squares of cheese as opposed to shreds, this pizza can hold up against any I have ever had. Try the Olé/Knight and I dare you to not think its the best around.

Don’t get me wrong… basils has the best pizza I have ever eaten in my whole life. but their service is absolutely terrible.90% of the time when we order for delivery they forget something like the bread or the taziki sauce. but we love it so much that we have to get it. but it’s ridiculous how much they f up our order.

Gyros pizza. Gyros pizza gyros pizza gyros pizza. With tzatziki. This place was a staple of my college days but it absolutely holds up. The quality is undiminished lo these 25 years. If square pizza is your thing, this is the center of the world.

The good: Delicious pizza. They deliver. Nothing more needs to be said. The bad: Had to stay at Archer House to discover this rad pizza joint.

I’m not even done eating and had to write the review! I’m here on business and looked up area places on Unilocal.Basil’s looked good, but had not had a recent review so I was a little apprehensive, but am SO glad I went with it. Garlic Cheesebread with Sauce — the bread was good, the sauce was outstanding! It was a true homemade meat sauce. I’m so used to getting generic red sauce, this was such a tasty surprise. Meat Pizza(no salmi) — thin crust and homemade ingredients — fresh sausage, fresh cooked hamburger, and crispy, sliced bacon! I don’t like a lot of sauce on my pizza so the combination of crust, sauce, and toppings was perfect for me. I’m actually sad I’m full because I want to keep eating this awesomeness! Nicely done, Basil’s!

The pizza here is a bit like Broadway Pizza(big pizza cut into squares), which is a style I used to not like, but Basil’s does it well, a bit step above Broadway Pizza. Best pizza in Northfield, and probably the best place to eat in Northfield.

Hands down the best pizza sauce and toppings I’ve ever had on a pizza. The smell when you walk in the door is intoxicating! Yum!!! We will definitely be making a return visit.

Yum Yum Yum, a thousand times, Yum. Such a better option than the other pizza places in town! I love the sweet family that runs this place, and the pizza is always the BEST. The ingredients are always fresh, they don’t take TOO long, and you never regret going! Only downside: the restaurant portion is so tiny and always busy. If you’re not doing delivery or take-out, plan on waiting for a table and feeling crowded. BONUS: It’s called the Gyro Pizza. Shut up ad order it.

I can safely say that this place contributed to my freshman 15 back in my college days. For four wonderful years I would order their Gyro pizza with the extra size of tzatziki sauce. Each piece was cut into little squares perfect for dunking. The pizza is on a cracker thin crust, which is my favorite and the gryo meat is the real stuff off the rotisserie, not that fake thin stuff that you buy frozen at grocery stores. It’s funny that people mention the similarity between Basil’s and George’s Vineyard’s pizza. The story heard around town is that the owners of Basil’s, George’s Vineyard and B&L’s are from the same family. There were some irreconcilable differences and each family member decided to start their own pizza place. After leaving Northfield I struggled to find a Gyro pizza that comes close to Basils. I never found it, which is why my husband and I make annual trips to Northfield for that delicious pie!

Good pizza, huge portions, cheap prices. They serve their round pies cut into small square slices — I’m big on sampling, so this is much better than having to commit to a huge wedge slices! They are open late, which is great given most of northfield sleeps at 5:30. They save us by being open til 1am on mother’s day! They allow you to halve a pizza and have it two difference styles. The 6 us shared 2XL pizzas(4 styles) and a dinner Greek salad and there was plenty to take home. Came out to be under $ 10/person. I’d stick to the specialty pizzas. We ordered: –Athen’s Special(gyro, tomato, mushroom, onion). Delicious. Gyro is cut thick and surprisingly great as a topping. –Hawaiian — wouldn’t order again. canned pineapple, lunch meat ham. –Greek Popeye(spinach, feta, bacon) — very good. Lots of all three ingredients. We didn’t order garlic bread but watching them make it in the kitchen — it sure looked good! Only complaint: Strange vents blow up your shorts and make the place pretty chilly. Bring a coat.

We just got a carry out from Basil’s one evening. The pizza was good, but I didn’t feel like it was anything extra special. It is no better than George’s Vineyard pizza and costs twice as much. In fact, I actually prefer a Little Cesar’s $ 5 Hot and Ready pizza over Basil’s any day. Not that it tastes that much better, but at least there is a balance between taste and cost. The interior of the building was also must less… uh…nice? than I expected reading the reviews on here. It smelled like grease which I find to be gross. Moral of the story, I probably won’t be back.
