When you go for tacos you want variety and you want consistency, because when it’s MONEY you want to come back, right?! You want that GO-TOTACOSPOT?! Taco Nano has that ANDMORE… Trust me when I say it’s ALLABOUTTHETACOS. Been three times in last two weeks. Each taco stands out and eats different, each incorporates different techniques and ingredients while maintaining amazing consistency. Quick service typically but regardless, the quality is worth the wait. Service is normally very quick so you can sit back and relax(avec tacos).(**TIP: when it’s busy be prepared to stand while waiting, but it’s AC/enclosed. Its a colorful atmosphere inside, nice and noisy so whip out the smart phone and snag some pictures while you wait, even the menu is funky!). Yesterday I had 4(all fish including taco of the week Crispy Wahoo Fish Taco) and today I had 6(four types of fish tacos!). It’s small and dare I say ‘cute’ enough to talk about it like its«your little secret taco joint» «standing room only, gotta know how to find it» sort of place. You’re going to brag about the tacos so much to your friends/co-workers it’s gunna annoy the sh*t out of them. in a good way. Trust me, they will want in to, so ask if they wanna ORDERONETOGOANDITCOMESNEATLYWRAPPEDANDLABELED, which I appreciate. That is my two cents in Taco Nano. My go-to taco joint, where I plan on taking down 8 tomorrow!

I’ll start by saying I’ve been here a couple times while visiting my mom in northfield. I live in the city, surrounded by many family owned hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurants. The food here is really good. I have tried the Old El Paso taco, which honestly is kind of like fancier Taco Bell, & I’ve also had their steak taco. The steak taco is really good, & the beans are delicious. My one complaint is the service. The young men who work here seem unenthusiastic, & the woman who works the register has been a bit rude. Like a lot of others have said, seating is very minimal. If you’re looking for authentic tacos, this is your place; especially because there aren’t many taco places in the suburbs.

Wow! Wow! Wow! Just moved here from Tennessee and I could not be more impress with the Tacos and service here. The people were incredibly nice and helpful. The food was out of this world! Get the Sea of Cortez Taco it was my favorite. Also the Plantains were some of the best I’ve ever had. I would come here weekly for sure.

By far the best tacos in the Northshore!!! They are all great, but the crispy shrimp will keep you coming back! The other must have on the menu is the guacamole, it is made fresh to order in a variety of spice levels. Everything is fresh and delicious. The owner/chef is really nice and is always socializing with all the guest. There is a lunch rush, but worth the wait, the tables clear quickly.

Best tacos in the Northshore. Usually quality and tacos don’t go hand in hand, but Taco Nano is an exception to the rule. Every taco is made with high quality ingredients and each is full of flavor. The location is a little hidden, but that doesn’t stop lines of people waiting to get their taco fixes in. My favorite is the crispy camarones(shrimp) taco has a sauce hat compliments the shrimp and veggies perfectly. Each taco seems hand crafted. Where else can you order a duck confit taco? Again, delicious. Each taco is $ 3 or $ 4, which is a little steep, but quality has its price. I don’t think their Northfield customers mind paying a little extra to get quality ingredients. Hands down, best in the area.

Small place and lots of people coming in for a Tuesday night. Started with medium guac, even though I didn’t think there was any spice to it. Tried the margarita, will pass next time, tasted more like juice in it. Had the pollo gringo, it was okay. They had a special which was the brisket taco which was good. The old el paso was good, but my favorite was the adobo skirt steak. Will come back, really wanting to try the turkey taco!

Absolutely a fan. Is a little pricey but the tacos are great. So is the Guac. Love the guac.

Very very good! The spicy guacamole was awesome. The friendly employees added raw onions to the quesadillas at my 5 year olds request. The veggie taco and the beer battered tilapia were both great. My husband gobbled up the skirt steak tacos without offering a bite so I know they were good and I will try one next time. Plantains were also very good. With the Guac and chips, two tacos was more than enough for me. My husband had three. My only regret is that they don’t serve wine, but maybe that is intentional since there are only a few tables and wine makes me linger longer.(They do serve beer and margaritas).

I’ll start off by saying Taco Nano has the best tacos I’ve had on the North Shore. I’ve tried almost every taco on the menu and the Pato en Mole Negro(duck), Adobo Skirt Steak and Crispy Camarones(shrimp) stand out as unique, flavorful and just straight up delicious. I was extremely surprised that I had finally found a taco place worth visiting close to where I work. Their beans and rice is also quite tasty. Aside from food, their décor, colors and menu design is clean and fun. Their service is fantastic and the labeling of the tacos is organized and much appreciated. The only downside and reason I’m giving this place 4 stars? There is no where to sit! I get it, it’s small… and it seems like most of the people visiting who live close know to order to go… however, if you do not live close and the weather outside is not desirable you really will have NOWHERE to go. Excited to check the place out, I unfortunately walked in right after about 10 people with small children ordered and took all the seats, so I checked the margarita off my order list and sadly ate in my car. Luckily all the food was incredibly good so it lessened the blow of that annoyance.

My boss and I had lunch at Taco Nano last week, dang is it good. I love the no-frills-no-fuss attitude to the décor and menu. The tacos were fantastic. I tried the al pastor and adobo skirt steak. Both were over-stuffed with amazing fillings, and no skimping on the meat! The pork al pastor had traditional cilantro & onions, and the pork is obviously spit cooked with pineapple. An interesting touch was the fried jalapeño on top — but it did not disappoint! The adobo skirt steak also came adorned with traditional onions and cilantro, as well as a generous serving of freshly sliced avocado. Everything was absolutely bursting with flavor. The tortillas are 100% house made, not the dry double-stacked corn tortillas you find at some other places. These were deliciously fresh, not dried out, which made for a much better taco experience. I only wish I would’ve tried the plantains… but I will certainly be back.

Nice little taco joint. Just a few simple good eats to choose from. I went with my sister and place was casual with some seating. Most people seemed like they ordered takeout. It’s family friendly and just a fast eat type of place. Quick service and clean joint. we ordered the steak and vegetarian tacos. Plus we shared a guacamole with chips. The Guacamole was delicious. The tacos were good but I felt like they were just good not amazing. All in all the food is good, easy parking, and it’s affordable(It’s about $ 4 for a taco).

Great Tacos! I would consider this place to be the best in the burbs. First of all the restaurant is really cute and small with really bright colored walls! It’s probably not the best for large parties. But with 2 – 4 people it’s great :)! This place is also self serve so you order tacos at the register and they bring it to you! They give you these really cute cards with pictures as your number! My favorite taco was definitely the al pastor! The fried jalapeño pepper on top was the cherry on top! The pork was also cooked really well! It was $ 3-$ 4 per taco and the shrimp or fish i believe is a bit more. So for one taco it isn’t super cheap but it’s still worth it because of the great quality. I also got some horchata which was around $ 2. I’m a huge fan! This place was a huge surprise and I loved it! I definitely will make the trip to satisfy my taco cravings!

Wow! What a great little taco joint! We ordered a hodgepodge of various tacos(which are bigger than your average taco and filled quite handsomely) and the flavors were fantastic! We were stuffed after 2 tacos. We split rice & black beans and got guac & chips. The guac was probably the best I’ve had in a long time; outstanding like you made it yourself. The flavors are diverse and very tasty! Girl @ counter super friendly. Awesome Latino music & eclectic colors surround the restaurant. We were headed to the bar next door for lunch & I’m so glad we stopped here b/c it was fantastic! We will definitely be back.

First time eating at Taco Nano’s. Easy parking, well lit, took over whole place with party of 13. Great place for kids and adults. I tried the carne asada and fish tacos, guacamole w/chips and rice. The guacamole and chips was one of the bests, rice tasted great and the carne asada taco packed with flavor. Want too impressed with the fish taco. I did come late after food was already on table so that may have made some difference. Taco Nano is definitely my go to Mexican joint. Will definitely be coming back and recommend for everyone to try it.

These tacos are amazing– I truly don’t understand how anyone can review these as just«average». I go here almost once a week and have tried almost every taco on the menu and there has not been one taco I haven’t enjoyed. I especially love the Turkey Picadillo, Pato En Mole(duck), Crispy Camarones, and Pork Al Pastor tacos. AND don’t forget to look at the taco of the week when you get in, never disappointed with those either. Although they are a bit pricey($ 3 – 4 per taco) the quality of each taco is so worth it. The guac is also delicious. It’s a bit pricey but you get A LOT with a single order and they are accompanied with warm, salty tortilla chips. Can be split between 3 – 4 people. So worth the price. Don’t pass this place up if you’re in the area!

Awesome little taco joint in Northfield serving food I don’t expect in the northshore. I went for the first time for lunch this week… highlights — nice selection of tacos — Old El Paso is straight up old school American taco realness… and it’s soooo good, in an embarrassing way. — Duck mole taco was awesome, this chef knows how to make a mole — I can’t remember the last one, but damn it was good(the best of them actually) — I think it was pork — super yummy tortillas — Good guac. Chips are so/so — definitely not a highlight. We took our tacos outside to the little picnic tables near the Happ Inn, which was perfect.

Immediate reaction after eating: this place is legit! it is really good the price can be a little bit high but given the area it’s reasonable. Super fresh ingredients, friendly staff and a great spot for a quick bite or a meal. I definitely recommend the shrimp, the fish and the steak tacos. Pleasantly surprised by the flavors.

Supremely superior taqueria. With the same chef as the adjacent Happ Inn, I knew I was probably going to love it even before I stepped in. It’s a small place, with just a few small tables and a long communal one, so it’s more suited for carry-out. Tacos are made to order, using fresh, organic ingredients. There’s quite an array of tasty options from which to choose: duck, beer-battered or blackened tilapia, crispy shrimp, skirt steak, al pastor, chicken – there’s even a ground turkey version. Vegetarians aren’t forgotten about either; there’s a taco with crispy potatoes, poblano rajas, and portabella mushroom. We tried four different ones and they were all fantastic. The al pastor had big chunks of charred, juicy pineapple that I could smell even before unwrapping it. The skirt steak had an added bonus of sliced creamy avocado. So, so good. I also got an order of guacamole, which was available in three levels of heat(genius idea). The medium level of spice was perfect. The texture was sublime; no pureed baby food here. Large chunks of avocado, with just enough tomato, onion, jalapeño and cilantro for balance. The accompanying chips were salted just enough and appropriately sturdy to hold up to the guac. Good selection of sides and desserts(fried plantains, rice and beans, tres leches cake, and flan), and there’s even margaritas! Another detail of note: all the tacos are labeled, so there’s no pesky unwrapping of everything trying to figure out what’s what. That alone makes me a fan. Good job, Taco Nano!
