Tacoasis gives great value for the dollar! The restaurant is counter service or drive thru for carryout only dining. They do have a picnic table in the lawn out front. The menu is a la carte with a number of terrific options. The food is prepared with fresh ingredients and all served in plentiful portions. The food comes out quickly, carefully prepared, and hot every time. And, as the sign says, Cash or Check Only! No Plastic.

Great food. Lacking in customer service and usually sound very short when ordering. Gives a feeling that they want to get rid of you as quick as they can.

For anyone that is looking for authentic style Mexican or even New Mexican, this is definitely not the place to go. I am from Arizona and am in town visiting, so our Mexican food is pretty good and a lot of places keep it very close to traditional Mexican/New Mexican styles. A lot of the great places in AZ look like little shacks or hole in the wall places. Not the case here. My family and I love Mexican food so we cook it often, but we call it «white people Mexican» sorry if that offends anyone. But that’s exactly what this place is! Their beans are from a can, almost certain it’s Rositas brand, their salsa seems very close to Pace salsa, their rice tastes the exact same as the packaged rice my mom buys from the grocery store, and their chicken tastes like a rotisserie chicken with pepper on it. Nothing really original here. The only reason I gave it two stars was because it reminded me of my moms home cooking, but her’s is still better. They are also inexpensive and fast.

Tacoasis not only has a great name, but also has good quality food at really low prices. It’s teeny… about the size of a storage container, with a bar-height counter that has room for 2 people to stand at and picnic tables outside. Their chimichanga is good. There’s an apple dessert that’s nothing fancy but is tasty & cheap(I think its $ 1.20). Dont miss this little gem!

Having recently moved to Northfield from St. Paul, I am on a quest for good quality food that does not come from a huge restaurant chain. I was pleasantly surprised by Tacoasis. The place is tiny; don’t expect to be eating inside because there is only a counter with no stools/chairs. There are tables with umbrellas outside. The prices are great though and the menu is pretty big. Hours are a plus as well; 11am to 10pm daily?! Nice.(In St Paul most decent places closed their doors at 9pm.) The best part is the kitchen is 100% visible while you’re standing at the counter. You watch your food being made every step of the way and you can see how spotless everything is. As far as the food goes… I’m a fan of the soft tacos and the tators, but was not impressed with the rice(it was a little gummy and the seasoning was… strange.) This is on my list of favorite lunch spots for sure. I’ll be returning to continue to explore the menu soon!

I’ve been eating at this place for 14 years. It is consistently good with nice portions for a great price. The super dinners and specials are a great deal. It’s higher quality than the other fast food Mexican chain in town and I have never gotten sick from eating here. The inside kitchen area is spotlessly clean. Go in and order and have a look for yourself. My favorite is the Super Nacho or the HUGE Tacoasis Super Dinner. I usually can’t finish the latter. I hope they are here another 14 years!

We only eat eat here when we are able to use a toilet within 20 minutes eating. The food is quick and cheap but I have never eaten here without almost crapping my pants before I leave.

A wonderful little dive on busy hwy 3 in Northfield. If you can get over the small amount of sketchiness you’ll find yourself at an americanized mexican gem. Great value, especially for poor college students. On weds they have super dinner specials where you can get an entire meal for less than $ 8! My personal favorite are the nachos!

With daily specials, including two for Tuesday, $ 2.14 for two delicious soft tacos, you can’t beat the value of this meal. Tacosis is nothing fancy, in fact it’s very bare bones — featuring a couple of picnic tables outside and standing room only inside. But if you can can get past the simplicity of this taco stop, this meal will hit your tex-mex spot. Somewhat basic, the tacos come with savory seasoned beef, lettuce and cheese — if you want something more you’ll have to add it. It’s easy to drive right by this small town spot and turn your nose up at it, but if you’re looking for something quick and cheap, I would recommend this joint favored by the locals. Try the nachos supreme and the soft tacos, they’re delicious!

Tacoasis — perhaps the BEST name ever given to a fast food restaurant! I haven’t actually tried their food, just a HUGE huge fan because of the name!

Was good– a nice value for your money. Seasoned beef in tacos was delicious, and the hard tacos actually stay together as you eat them. Those 2 things make it an above average experience by itself. 2 things that kept it from 5 stars was lack of taco sauce or anything else on the side inside the restaurant while I was there, and the chicken tacos were a bit bland(needed some sauce). I’d recommend the beef tacos– very good!
