Our family has been using Tick Tock for about the last 2 years. Before that we had tried 2 different daycare centers for our older child — one pretty small one in a small town and a busy one here in Chicago suburbs. But he has never been as comfortable in either one of them as he has been at Tick Tock. Our daughter started going there when she was 9 months old, and has always been comfortable there. I can’t think of any negatives of this center, but think that the following are their positives — 1. Dedicated, caring staff 2. Ability to use the daycare hours our children need(flexibility) 3. Parents night out(one Saturday a month, when children over 2 go to the daycare for an evening movie, while parents can have an entire evening to themselves) 4. High ceilings make the place have an open feel and allow them to keep large play equipment indoors — a great asset during Chicagoland winters 5. Tucked away from busy streets(makes it have a safe-from-traffic feel) 6. Reasonably priced I highly recommend that anyone for whom Tick Tock is a convenient drive should try it.

We absolutely LOVE Tick Tock and are so grateful to have them helping us care for our son. The entire concept behind this business is FANTASTIC, and I can’t believe they haven’t expanded to other areas. I never feel anxious leaving him because he always has a great experience, and all of the women working there are SOWONDERFUL and talented. It is the next best thing to leaving him at grandma’s house with more bells and whistles… friends to play with, guided activities, a healthy lunch, learning time, a nap and lots of loving hands to hold him if things are tough or he’s just tired. Thank you so much for everything Tick Tock! We are grateful for all that you do :)

I’ve been bringing my three children here for close to six years now. I started when my oldest was two and a half and my middle son was 6 months old. At first I was very skeptical and unsure as I had never had an experience with«institutional» daycare. However, I was so impressed by the care my children received(and continue to receive) that I just keep coming back. What is most impressive is that many(if not all) of the caregivers that were there six years ago are STILLHERE! Unheard of in the childcare industry. Ms. Amy and Ms. Peggy are like old friends now. My older two don’t go often anymore, but they still love it when they do and they are 8 and 6. My youngest has been attending since he was 6 months old and he is now 3. I don’t know of any other place on the North Shore like Tick Tock and I’m so grateful for it. I’m a stay at home mom without a regular babysitter. Tick Tock allows me some time, at my convenience, to run errands or go to the gym. I’ve tried to use daycare at my gym, but I just didn’t feel as comfortable with the caregivers as I do with Tick Tock.

I would not recommend this place, due to the lack of proper supervision. While some of the caregivers are excellent, you don’t know who will be with your child on any given day. My children were allowed to be hit repeatedly in the stomach, chest and face with a hard hockey stick by another child, which caused a raised, black welt on my younger son’s face. I was not called to be notified of the injury, but only discovered it upon my arrival to pick him up. When I questioned the safety of putting hockey sticks in the hands of young children, the owner was defensive and hostile. Her excuse is that children play rough and sometimes get injured. This is the risk she’s willing to take with other people’s children. My son could have lost an eye had the hit been slightly lower. A parent should not have to worry about their children’s safety while in day care, so I will be taking my children elsewhere.
