Have to agree with Robert’s review. I like to support local businesses, but am always disappointed in the coffee and food. And that burnt butter smells really just clings to everything, clothes, hair… Sit outside if it’s a nice day for rather ordinary coffee.

Bad coffee, unimaginative pre-packaged food, cast off furniture. None of the atmosphere you expect in a funky coffeehouse so close to a theater. There’s also an eerie scent in the air that smells like coffee, grease and burnt food. I wanted to like it, the place doesn’t work.

friendly funky little place. Got some nice warm tea and no attitude like up the street.

cozy space. friendly staff. decent prices. clean. that burnt grill smell. it’ll be in my hair and clothes all day. not a fan of that, i’m afraid. soy milk is sweetened; wish i’d asked beforehand since i’m trying to reduce my sugar intake. latte was just ok. more assembled rather than crafted. no art. i was happy they had gf banana bread but it was oddly not sweet, and quite dry. portion was generous but taste was ick. like a brick. hope they find a better recipe. lots of pastries, some mini quiches, the usual coffee and tea options. gf instant oats offered. stars for some truly beautiful art on the walls. prints, paintings, collage. I’d buy that piece called«back together» if I weren’t a folksinger. not much seating. piano and a dried out 12-string guitar in the back. wonder what else happens here? was passing thru and probably won’t return. points for art, mainly.

Delicious almond milk lattes ! Came here with my mom this morning so yummy! I used to live right around the corner great to be back in Northport. This place has such a unique charm living in LA I rarely find authentic places for coffee! Service impeccable and I will be back for lunch! Tyou!!!

Stopped in for a salad and a coffee. No complaints here. Very cute inside, nice people, fresh ingredients. I enjoyed it. I also love that they have a couple of tables & chairs outside to enjoy on a nice day.

Perfect little local coffeehouse. Homey and warm; delicious coffees and even better desserts and pastries. Addicted to the cannoli. Small suggestion to the establishment: please ditch the powdered chai mix. Chai lovers: just remember to order your chai lattes with the tea BAG specifically. The Skinny Chai Latte is made this way, but you can still get whole milk and sugar syrup with it if you want. Non-skinny chai drinks are made with the powder, which is truly inferior.

Stopped in today for a latte and I was pretty disappointed. Coffee was not very robust, kind of watery, and not very good. Milk also gave a sour after taste. The staff was very nice and polite. The prices are fair. The pastries looked really, really good, but I just wanted a good cup of coffee. Maybe, I’ll try again, but not likely.

I thoroughly enjoy all my experiences at Caffe Portofino both as a tea/coffee drinker, and a musician. Their coffee is full-bodied and strong, with a wide variety of flavors and amenities to be added, I always enjoy their iced coffee in the summertime. They have a nice selection of black teas, but they do a very good job with their own tea concoctions. I personally enjoy the London Fog, which is Earl Grey mixed with a hint of caramel and frothed milk, almost like a cappuccino but with tea– the bergamot in the Earl balances the sweetness of the caramel very well. They also have an upright piano and do many open-mic nights, though sometimes I just enjoy popping in, enjoying a London Fog, and woodshedding for an hour or so on the keys. They love that I play jazz! Very friendly local staff, and very conducive to the musician’s/artist’s community in Northport– local paintings and photography adorn the wall, and local musicians(such as myself!) share their songs, or play the classic standards, which gives you the feel of a café on the Riviera! Definitely worth a stop in if you’re passing through Northport, but if you’re a local and haven’t stopped in yet, you’ll be hooked in no time!

It’s a cozy locally-owned place with good(and affordable) food options, and apparently they have open mic night for musicians. I’d come back if it was nearby. However, the Unilocal offer is not valid anymore. That was old management from a year ago or so.

The perfect local coffee shop. Delicious confections and great coffee. Try the«Red Eye» if you really want to wake up. We love everything about Caffe Portofino. In addition to coffee, local art adorns the walls which just adds to the charm. Can’t go wrong with Portofino.

Great coffee from ink! coffee in Aspen & Denver CO. Good & strong. A fun, funky, cozy atmosphere with artwork decorating the walls from local artists which is for sale. I didnt have any food but there was a good assortment of baked goods. There is a menu of breakfast & lunch items that sounded good. Friendly service. A great little neighborhood spot.

I love exploring new coffee places and Portofino had all the great basics: cozy atmosphere, baked goods, comfy seating and a variety of drinks, samwhiches and salads. But it was also unique! The coffee itself is delicious and the baked goods there are a little more up scale including a decadent red velvet cup cake! I got one of their original creations, a campfire mocha. Espresso, hot cocoa and marshmallow syrup. Unfortunately they were out of the syrup so I picked another. It was the end of the day and they were out of that too. I ended up getting a brown sugar syrup and it still tasted delicious! The guy then gave me a free cookie! Who doesn’t love cookies l?! There are plenty of places to eat in North Port but I doubt you will find better coffee as nicer service anywhere else! Plus the prices are really reasonable!

A great little coffee shop with pretty good coffee and food(wraps, cookies, cakes, etc.). A nice atmosphere too for reading/studying. Also does a lot to support the local community. Glad to give them my business!

I really like Portofino’s but I have to agree with Russell H. below regarding the wraps — I never quite know what I’m getting in mine. If you have strict dietary needs, be sure to remind them of that. It’s a great, charming little spot otherwise.

Charming little coffee shop with friendly staff and a few vegan options. The coffee could be stronger, but in an area devoid of options their brew is OK. Recommended are the blueberry ‘morning’ granola bar and veggie wrap. The seating area is small but comfy, with an upright piano taking up much of the space. In addition there are chairs and tables outside, great for my 10 minute breaks while working across the street!

I got a veggie wrap. The description said it had tomatoes, avocado, hummus, mushrooms, tomato, grilled zucchini, and spinach in it. The wrap I got had guacamole, grilled mushrooms, grilled zucchini, and lettuce in it. Not really what was advertised. It was also pretty small for the $ 6.24(tax included) I paid for it, but hey everything is overpriced usually in Northport. Being a vegan, accidentally having dairy usually messes up my system. It seems the folks at Portofino like to grill with butter because I had a pretty bad stomachache the rest of the night. I knew something tasted strange in the wrap. Next time I will ask more about what is in the actual wrap, but I thought I was just going to get what was advertised. I have had a better previous experience here, so It gets a two from me.
