We arrived at 5:30 and it took13 minutes to get seated in an EMPTY restaurant. We were ignored, food was cold and no one checked on us.
Last visit.

Meh no. Just no.
I ordered in for a salad to come pick up. The Mexican Cesar with avocado. They charged extra for the avocado which I was fine with.
I went to pick up my food and I literally stood there for at least 5 minutes before an employee noticed me in their pretty empty restaurant. They gave me my food, I signed the receipt (with a colored pencil??? Wtf?) and left. I opened my food and the salad was pretty pathetic for being $ 13. The avocado was TINY and brown. I tasted it and it was totally rancid and awful tasting and had to through it away. Salad was ok except for the chicken which was Luke warm and tasted like dog food. I love the salad dressing and the seeds they put in the salad. When I go to other locations the salad isn’t this awful. This location is definitely a waste of money. Stay away.

As always, El Torito in the Cantina is very nice. service is exceptional and the food is good too. Our server, Belen, is quick, professional and attentive. Definitely the place to go to become a regular. Not one bad experience experience!
I think that overall this place is very nice, clean and organized. Their food here is really good and their shrimp is awesome! Of course, the margaritas are always a hit! Exceptional service, too!

Really great food and drinks, the only thing keeping this place from that last star is the service. We come her all the time, and the service is never really great. You always have to flag down a server to get a drink refill, and there is almost always something wrong with someones food at the table. It’s always small things but its just consistently like that. Everyone is very friendly and the drinks are strong, so really the only setback is the service. Other than that, this place is awesome and i highly recommend it!

Never have a been so disappointed with food before I placed a order for a plate of asada I asked for well cooked and it was all bloody I asked if they can please took it a little more when they brought it back and I took a bite it was so nasty I didn’t want to eat anymore .
Growing up this was my favorite place to go to, to eat I remember on Sundays the buffet was so good but now I won’t be going back even if the food was free .
What a let down this place needs to do something and something fast .

I have been a long time customer practically raised eating cheese quesadillas and eventually branching out to the chicken fajitas. The rice is good and the beans are fine. I find the service from some waiters/​waitresses leave you thirsty and wondering if they forgot you were seated. With the understanding of how busy the place gets I can forgive it as it doesn’t ruin the dining experience. I don’t drink but sitting at the cantina provides a great view of the game on that big screen. Chips and Salsa are free (asking for a side of Pepita dressing is a personal preference). Deep fried ice cream is not a must but if you are looking for a sweet treat and your local ice cream parlor might be closed after a late night out, this is a tasty alternative. Wrapping it up I suggest Taco Tuesday as a day to mark on your calendar if you plan on going. All in all the 3 stars are for the pretty penny it will all cost you when the bill comes and the chances you are stuck waiting to order a drink while watching your team.

JUAN was amazing! Great customer service and great mango margaritas! I absolutely loved the hostess too! Cute little bubbly Asian girl!!:)

Tuesday taco night at El Torito Northridge. Plus happy hour and Homemade tortillas. Plus plus great salsa and chips. Had great service. Thanks Belen for making it a great night !

Good food. The staff is welcoming and attentive. Management made sure things were going great. Margarita was ammmmmaaaaazing!!!

I thought I was the only one had bad service but look like it’s keep happens to everyone
It was my second time first time I got to go order and food was really good … This time
1. I asked for any bottle drink (water, soda, …)he said we don’t carry at all. It was ok, even most of place start to have it … Anyway
I ordered. And wait 5 min I couldn’t find the guy, finally I went to bar I was standing front of bar and bartender pass me 4 time … I said excuse me 3 time … Finally order strawberry martini with extra shot GIN and I went back to my table
He brought my drink half of glass was empty and taste like water LOL I said leave it I don’t care I have to go to work any way, Food was really good until they brought me bill they charged me 2 martini $ 20
I told the waiter I only order 1 martini
He said no you order 2. I really don’t care about 10 box, I said charge my card no problem, but funny and sad part when I ask manager and I told her the story she said did you see how he made it for you :)) I was what??? Lol sorry next time I call my lawyer to stand there when your bartender make me drink.

Been coming to this restaurant for years now and this is the first time I have been disappointed.
For starters, on Wednesday they are understaffed. Not to mention, it’s the week of Christmas so you would think otherwise.
They had their host helping on tables which left the front desk empty.
To top it off, manager is extremely rude. Does not know how to handle simple errors. Typically, managers duty is to understand what the customer is trying to explain instead of arguing with them and making a scene in front of other families enjoying their dinner.
I hope this location really reconsiders the chaos that is currently happening and fix it.
Would really love to continue enjoying my margaritas with my family!

This place is struggling. Service sucks at the bar. No communication and servers can’t handle the traffic. Manager who was trained at the Woodland Hills location hasn’t learned much. Secret shopped and it wasn’t good. Hope service is better next time.
Ordered a soup and salad and it didn’t come because he server was so busy he forgot.

You know when you’ve been to a place over a 100 times and every server knows you, your daughter, son, and wife?
Well, that’s my experience here. We’ve been frequenting this location maybe 15 – 20 times a year since 2007, and I can count the meh experiences on 1 hand, while the times I’ve been blown away by the service and quality of the food I couldn’t count on 10 hands.
The Mac N’ Cheese Shrimp Burrito has been my favorite for almost a year. Can’t go wrong with the classic fajitas though.
All of this food, and a Cadillac Margarita has me wondering about my next visit.

Decent food and decent prices. Not much selection but okay overall.
The place was empty when I went but service still took a while.

Came here at 130 on a thurs Hoping to enjoy some lunch buffet and mid day margaritas on my day off… instead I got the opposite. The server never came get our drink water… we had to flag down the hostess for water n the drink menu… who by the way never smiled once. When the equator did finally come he only asked if we wanted chips and salsa (that we NEVER got). He passed by us at least 5 times and never asked how we were or if we even wanted a drink from the drink menu we kept admiring.
On a good note the lady at the buffet was so sweet. Oh then the pen for the bill didn’t even work!!!
Don’t get me wrong if there was a room full of people I would be more forgiving… but there were only about 15 other people. pretty much NEVER coming back!!!

Overall, a good experience. Immediately seated on a Friday night during prime dining time. The restaurant was busy and quite full, so that’s a plus. Quickly greeted by our waiter while hubby was parking the car and drinks arrived soon thereafter. Manager on the floor checking on tables and service, and twice stopped by ours to make sure everything was ok. The spinach enchiladas I ordered were tasty and I loved the flavor of the tomatillo sauce. My husband’s sizzling enchiladas were also good. Table side guacamole was done well and a good size portion. We’d come again. The parking can get tight when the place is busy, so plan to walk a bit to the lot or street nearby. But all in all, we enjoyed El Torito.

I was pleased with my visit from the moment I walked in to the moment I left. I took advantage of their $ 1.99 Taco Tuesday and was not disappointed. Left with a full stomach and wallet!
The service was outstanding! I had the pleasure of being helped by Griselda. She made sure I was having a very warm and welcoming experience during my entire meal. She always made sure I had everything I needed. I never had to look for her if I was running low on chips or drinks (Thanks for the margarita recommendation!) she definitely surpassed my expectations. Great job El Torito Northridge!

Three key factors that I base my reviews on First. Service, Second, Quality, and Third, Cleanliness. These factors will decline your business in a heart beat.
So again this place used to be the place to come to on a Friday and Saturday night and the wait would be about an hour. Last night we got seated right away. Hmmm.
As I entered there where to Hostess that where talking about who didn’t show up for work tonight. I don’t need to hear that. I just want to be seated.
As I was seated, I was put on a table and under the table there was a lot of debris under the table, they where pieces of waffles. There Saturday brunch is served 10−2pm. I arrived at 6pm. So for about 4 hours No one cleaned around the table areas to be ready for dinner. It just wasn’t around my table it was all around.
I ordered Combo #5 with to Shredded Beef Tacos and ¾ into the Tacos No beef and it wasn’t Shredded, they where in chunks. A Quality issue.
Management should be doing walk thru’s and checking their stores and the line in the Kitchen, being rush ready at all times. Your store should like you just opened. Servers should clean as they go.
Not a Good Visit. I used to really enjoy this Place. There’s a lot of R&M thats needs to be done at this location.
