So I do not play video games at all but occasionally have to go in for my friends if their at work to buy stuff. The employees here do not greet you and have this arrogant attitude. I waited patiently in line and noticed I do not have all the time in the world to listen to the brunette behind the counter and her friend talk and talk so I started to walk away, only then I was asked… oh do you have a question??? No fucking shit, why else would I go stand in line with no merchandise in my hands. But I will have to say the only reason this gets stars is because of the manager Adam. I’ve asked for his help before when the employees tell me I’m never going to find that collectors edition Destiny. He’s courteous and always make me feel welcome. I will only shop when he’s there from now on.

A dying breed. I wonder how long this store will last now that digital sales are rising. Th employees can be a hit or miss here. I’ve has some great ones in the past years and made friends with some of them. But once in a while you’ll run into the guy or girl who is seasonal/doesn’t care. Everything is pretty organized but I would never touch a thing in there; all the little kids that pick their nose and don’t wash their hands, so gross. The entire store smells like flagellants too. I come here from time to time for accessories or game consoles. I’m also apart of their point system. It’s pretty good and pays for it self if you shop here a lot. You get a magazine subscription to game informer too.

I was never the type to go out and buy videos games from a store retailer. I can almost always find what I am looking for online cheaper than I would find in the store, especially when I am not paying sales tax and shipping. My partner and I recently purchased a Nintendo Wii. Now, we are not huge gamers, but gaming is fun, and we have always been huge fans of the Mario Series, and previous Nintendo owners. We were at the Northridge Mall in Northridge, CA looking around. We walked into a GameStop store, and immediately noticed their pre-owned Wii’s were only $ 79.99. Thats a good price. The sales person immediately noticed us and talked it up about how their pre-owned Wii’s were«top quality» and«have been tested, cleaned, and worked perfectly and that is a GameStop Guarantee.» And had 7 days to decided if we really wanted it or not. It also played old Gamecube games too. Score. We even signed up for their $ 15 a year membership that gave us a good coupon to use on games. We bought it. Brought it home, set the whole thing up, hooked up all my accounts, and went to put in a Brand New Super Mario Galaxy game. Immediately the Wii wouldn’t take it, made very loud spinning noises, and then got the disk stuck. Took a lot of work to get it out of there. The Wii was broken. Right out of the box. Great. Now we have to go all the way back to the mall in traffic to replace it. We showed up and told them our issue and wanted a replacement. The different sale associate cut us off, told us he cannot help us, and told us to go to another store, then preceded to talk to another person in the store. Asshole with a capital A. We found another GameStop store and went there. It was a not-so-nice on down the street from the mall. Showed up there, and the sales associate on duty did’t know shit, nor did he even want our business. We told him our problem, and just stared at us. I motioned for him to find a replacement Wii for us, and he did. I asked him if this one playes Gamecube games too, and he stared at me again and didn’t say a word. I then walked over and asked a different sales associate and she said it does. She then was very questionable of our broken Wii, because she had«Never heard of that problem.» She then cut us off and said she«had to go on break.» Now we are getting pissed. New Wii works, that is good. Much better quality. We went back last night to go buy games. The coupon we had say«buy two pre-owned games get one free». Thats a good coupon. Went back to the original store at the mall a couple days later. Same asshole working there as last time. We found all three games we wanted to buy that were pre-owned. The store in the mall has a larger selection, or at least we thought… Took them up to pay, and immediatly the clerk told us they do not have Super Smash Bros in stock, or Mario Kart. I asked him why are you displaying many copies of the box if you do not have them in stock? He replied«Store policy.» Wait a minute?! GameStop has a policy to falsely advertise their stock when they do not have them in stock. That is pretty damn stupid. The clerk then said he could order the games online for us and apply the coupon. Good! Salvation at last! Took him 20 minutes to make those orders for us, and went to apply the coupon and this was his response: «Oh uh yeah, it won’t take the coupon, so you can’t use it. Do you still want the games?» «Uh no I do not, the point of getting the games is that one of them is free.» So you just broke your word for the 3 and last time GameStop. So many guarantees and promises broken by that store. He then preceded to tell us that for the coupon to work, we have to find a GameStop Store that has all of our games we want in stock, and then use the coupon. That is almost next to impossible. I wanted to call GameStop and submit a formal complaint. They are a bunch of corporate criminals. There is NO number to call listen on their website. All there is a place to submit a complaint form. I did that after the first Wii broke. They promised 24 – 48 hour response. It has been a week now. Wrote them another complaint. No answer either. 4 strikes GameStop. Because of your consistent lies, poor customer service, lack of stock, false advertising, and shorty products, I will never purchase something for you again and will recommend to everyone I know to never go to a GameStop and op to purchase games online. Games beware. GameStop is a joke.

Extraordinary! One of the best GameStop’s ever! The only downside is that there are always long lines but they help you anyway

It’s around the area and since most people hit the one up at the mall… this place is a hidden gem… so to speak. usually have what you need in stock unless it’s a popular game, then you should most definitely reserve it beforehand. other than that, great place for a gamestop, decent parking and pretty knowledgable workers… most of the time. because it’s not all of the time, –1 star
