I’m truly disappointed in this place. I was so craving for a bowl of phở. And I’ve been seeing how my friends raved about this place. I couldn’t remember what was my first time trying this place(obviously it wasn’t a bad experience until now). This was my second time coming here. I ordered the beef combo(rare steak, brisket point, tendon, flank and tripe). When the waiter brought the phở, it was not what I expected. There were FOUR pieces of meat in there. The broth was super bland. Oh yeah, there were NOBASILLEAVES but CILANTRO?! The limes weren’t fresh. About 9 bucks for this? No thank you. I don’t think this restaurant is an authentic Vietnamese restaurant. The menu included Korean translations. If you really love phở and you grew up eating phở, I wouldn’t recommend this place at all. You will regret this if you want to come to this place. I rather go to Phở So 1 on Sherman Way & Reseda. Their phở has better flavors, and good portions for a good price and a happy tummy.

It was one of the closest Phở spots and to be honest, it doesnt beat the Phở 999. Gave a little of the noodles and the meat and all the other add-ons.

This place is in a shopping center with plenty of free parking spaces. Today was my 3rd visit. I come to this place for their Chicken PHO and I been very happy with the quality and the taste of their food. Place has always been clean. Service has been above average. Will come back again !!!

Reviewing this place based on two visits. My first visit was a little over a year ago. The phở was delicious and I was amazed with the great service(very unlike a Vietnamese restaurant). My second visit was recent and rather disappointing. The phở was still good, but there was hardly any garnish offered — very few sprouts and no mint at all. The service was noticeably lacking this visit(although it looked like they were understaffed). Food took forever to come out and parts of the order were forgotten. Drinks were never refilled and catching the one waiter was impossible. Prices were a bit higher than comparable restaurants. The owner apologized for the bad service without me having to bring it up, but some some sort of comp would have been nice at that point.

The only reason I gave this two stars is because something could have been worse. I got the beef deluxe.. mediocre would be a step up from this. Totally bland. Nothing had flavor, it basically all tasted the same just different textures. Definitely won’t go back. The person working there was nice enough but seemed annoyed that I asked for a refill on my water a second time. Adding lime and chili sauce wasn’t even enough to make this good.

(Writing as I’m waiting for food) Came here with the family for phở, it’s been over 30 minutes and we still haven’t received our food… I thought phở was known for being quick and easy to make?(At least that’s what I thought with all the other phở places I’ve been to.) There’s max 4 tables here waiting to be served… Out of 16??? I’m not sure why their service is so slow. I would appreciate it if the servers could check up on us and let us at least know why it’s taking so long(1 cook, etc.) yet alone let us know that they’re sorry for the long wait. But none of the servers are helping us. They’re instead attending to the call in orders before their actual customers? Idk I’m confused af rn LOL ok bye thanks I’ll update later ok bye

Don’t let the rating fool you, went in here for a quick bite on my way home to get chicken fried race went straight home when I got there I started eating it when I noticed there was a huge roach in my food. I contacted manager and he tried saying that was impossible argued with me and said anything could of happened from the time I left the shop to my house which was like a 6 min drive. I drove back and showed it to him to only get accused of lying and that, it wasn’t a roach when clearly it was right there. By the look of it, it looked like it was cooked in there. Apparently serving to roaches here is an «in thing».

Another place I am not too impressed about that is around CSUN. Why does this phở place have to disappoint me. It is better than that terrible KBBQ place but that isn’t really a compliment. Just know they could just improve in so many ways and at least the parking and price is okay.

Phở w/rare Brisket, that is what I came for. It’s prime location makes it a hot spot for me. However, the pricing is a bit high for the portion size. I do not like the broth. It just seems a bit bland, and the noodles were small. However, the egg rolls were bomb. Get the egg rolls forget the Phở. Order egg rolls to go here and go to Bön Bön, and you’ll have a good late night snack. A plus is this place opens pretty late in the area. Hard workers!

It’s not my favorite but it might be soon. I usually don’t order Gah/chicken phở cuz I love Tai(raw steak) but It was so tender and moist and it really hit the spot after an arduous work day. The service was beyond phenomenal and the staff is all attractive and kind. The décor was nice and neat. I’ll come back soon, probably within a few days.

I like chicken phở a lot, wish they would use white meat only. They’re peach iced tea is 2.95, which is fucking ridiculous! Even if it’s unlimited refills. CSUN discount is clutch.

Everything you love about phở is not found here. It is not cheap, the soup is bland, they don’t even have the right herbs(just cilantro served lol) and they are super stingy with the meat. I’d say the only thing that was similar to an authentic bowl of phở were the noodles. Came with a buddy to check this place out. We got our bowls and saw how little toppings of meat were given. No worries, some places hide the meat under the noodles. NOPE! I almost lost my mind when my chopsticks came up empty searching for meat. Soup was very, very bland and never tasted right from the start because all we were given for herbs were cilantro. Servers were nice, though. Just wish they served better phở. The valley isn’t known for good phở, but trust me, there are much better options down the street.

Most phở that I’ve eaten is either laden with MSG or salt, but its a nice change of pace when I’m able to come home without feeling bloated or in a food coma! Great quality ingredients, clean wholesome broth, and friendly service(props to the cute waitress for her kindness towards me and my grandmother, I really appreciate it!) So here’s the breakdown: Exterior/Interior: It’s located within a medium sized plaza with ample amount of parking. Once inside, the interior of the restaurant is very clean and well adorned with the ingredients that go into a classic phở bowl. Also helps that there’s a huge TV located within the restaurant for those important sporting events. Food: It’s tasty, appropriately portioned, and best of all clean! Though I can’t necessarily deem it as healthy, comparatively it is healthier than most phở bowls I’ve had in the valley. They use good quality meat and vegetables, which really flavors the broth in a natural way without any superfluous flavor additives or extra salt. Best of all, I usually dread eating phở due to the way it knocks me out afterwards, but I felt pretty good after the meal. Goes to show that you are what you eat, and this place sells some clean wholesome food. Service: I came to Phở 22 pretty early in the day, before the lunch hour hit, so of course I can’t say too much about the service. Our waitress was very helpful and was able to take good care of me and my grandmother on our«grandma/grandson date». The owner himself came to our table and was very cordial with us by making us feel at home; it was an overall great experience! At the end of the day I could see myself coming here on multiple occasions and would recommend it to anyone who’d want a solid tasting food. Thanks Phở 22!

First time to eat here today. I have been to other phở places like phở king, phở sure(valencia), and some other phở place in northridge. And by comparisson, this is not my best place for phở. Its like my second or third choice. We ordered two number 1(beef combo), and two number 2(large combo beef and shrimp and ONEMUSSEL) haha. 1 order of rice rolls(Yep they call it rice rolls, the viet spring rolls), and thai iced tea. Tha iced tea was okay but i didnt think it was the three bucks. As for the rice rolls, they taste as good as other ice rolls, the sauce tho, tasted weird? But still good. And now, for the phở. I ate the big phở. I asked for extra onions put some sriracha and hoisin sauce.(BESTSIDEDISHTOEATWITHPHO!) The meat was cooked very well, and was very tasty, lots of shrimp, but only one mussel(which didnt even taste good). However, that didnt take away from the overall taste. I finished the big bowl and ate my little sisters left over of the beef combo, also tasted just as good. Place is very clean, the staff are very nice, and good food. Not the best for me but still good! Overall we spent, 46 $ There were 5 of us. 4 adults and one kid. Cause they give discounts to CSUN students 10% off the entire bill! Pretty nice Gonna eat here again when i am around the area

I needed to get a quick lunch near campus, and as far as I know, there really aren’t many phở places near CSUN. The I usually go to is way south on Reseda, so my classmates suggested«the phở place across the street!» Service was quick, but overall, it was kinda meh. The food tasted ok. Portions were smaller than Phở So 1, where I usually go. I got the rare steak and brisket, and there wasn’t much of either. Also, it’s relatively more expensive(with the smaller portion!), which I think was about $ 8.50 or so. Usually I just pay around $ 6.50 for a regular, so idk… It was just A-OK for me. If I could, I’d give it 2.5 stars, but since it was quick, and they were nice about splitting the check, I’ll round up.

I love this Phở place. Although I don’t come as often as I’d like it is always great when I come. I have had their vegetarian small bowl, which was loaded with great veggies and the soup itself was tasty. They have toppings such as cilantro, basil leaves, bean sprouts, and they provide lemon wedges. The other soup I’ve had was the chicken one which was delicious. Their small bowls are pretty big and their large bowls are huge. The service there is great, every time I have gone the place is packed and everyone is attended to.

Phở 22 is my go to place for phở. Every time my friends and I are craving it, we know this is the place to go. Here’s why I give this place five stars: LOCATION: perfect location in the valley, close to csun! and also right next to Bön Bön tea house which is a perfect place for dessert. the parking lot is really spacious. SERVICE: from reading other reviews, I can agree that I’ve had a rude waitress a couple of times. but I gave this place 5 stars because the overall service is fast and good CLEANLINESS: I think this is the cleanest phở restaurant I’ve been to. especially compared to good phở you– phở 22 doesn’t have that overwhelming greasy smell TASTE: after reading some reviews, I get that the broth doesn’t fit everyone’s taste buds. but nothing in the world can please every single person. however personally, I love the broth because it’s so clean, refreshing and tasty. it doesn’t have that heavy, greasy MSG taste that other places have. I always get the rare steak or seafood phở, and the portions are so big! I also recommend the egg rolls(always so hot and crispy) and of course the spring rolls. Bottom line: if you’re looking for a quick bite of phở at a clean restaurant with fast, reliable service and great tasting food, then go here. the manager is always there and is so friendly and even remembers me whenever I go :)

Asked what kind of fusion phở place it is and they said it’s Korean-Vietnamese. So that explains a lot why the phở may be different from other places. The broth isn’t as oily so that’s good because my stomach can be sensitive to that and tastes good. The waitress didn’t mind bringing me extra veggies for the soup either. Tried their smoothie recently and it’s really refreshing as well! Overall, very good and fast service whenever I’ve been here. Also, they are vegetarian friendly and the veggie soup phở was great. Definitely coming back again. :)
