I have been to Steak Escape a few times now. And every time hoping my visit would be better than last time, but I am disappointed a bit more every time. This visited honestly did it for me. The employees are rude and the food just gets worse and worse. The lady behind the register is texting while eating and taking orders all at the same time. Not to mention the«chef» we simply asked him to make our sandwich well done and his response was, «what, it is well done.» You have many other options in the mall don’t waste ur time and money here.

Very disappointed. The meat barely covered the bun. Taste was mediocre. Should have thrown it back, but was too hungry. Even Subway would have been better — and that’s not saying very much. Recommend that you pass on it.

This place might be the oldest place in the food court at the northridge mall at this point. Ya know what they have a good french dip. Nothing more, nothing less. Its reliable and the bread is nice. I would avoid the fries tho they are not too stellar.

Fries are wet, not crispy. Steak sandwhich is a laughing joke. Thin layer of meat and lettuce in between underbaked bread that is white and taset like uncooked dough. This place is TERRIBLE. NEVER coming back here again.

I will be contacting the health department. I ordered a wrap that I refused because of what I witnessed. 1) the guy cooking didn’t change gloves between touching raw steak and continued to wear the same gloves while touching bread, the wrap, cheese slices. So everything he touched including what was in the containers holding the items was cross contaminated. Not only did he use the same gloves he used the same cooking spatulas on different meats that were both raw and cooked. This is unacceptable. This took place at 12:14 pm

Best place to get a Philly Cheese Steak sub. I’ve ordered this sandwich in big name resturant’s before and it’s never as good as the one I get at Steak Escape. I’m even from Philly and grew up eating Steak sandwich’s. It’s nice and fresh.

I don’t usually feel compelled to write reviews of food court eateries, as I rarely frequent them these days. However, I’ll make an exception today for Steak Escape in Northridge Fashion Center. I figured I’d grab a quick cheesesteak for lunch since I’d barely eaten all day and have it in the car since I had a busy afternoon. After a couple bites, I noticed a small fragment of something hard in my sandwich. I spit it out and didn’t think much of it. A few bites later, I hit another one, only bigger. In total, I discovered no fewer than 4 of what I can only conclude must be bits of bone. Luckily I didn’t swallow any or break my teeth, but talk about disgusting! The only reason I ate most of it was because I was so hungry. What kind of crappy meat are they using where they can’t even get rid of bone mixed in? Needless to say, I won’t be back here.

I should never try to compare a grilled steak sandwich to Philly’s Best, it will just lead to disappointment. I got the combo with a small steak and veggies sandwich, fries and a drink. My fries were cold and soggy and my sandwich was OK. However I liked my diet coke.

Worst service ever, they had three minutes to closing and all I wanted was a soda. They said they were closed, so I reminded them that they still had three minutes to go, so the guy rolled his eyes and walked over. Needless to say I went next door to Stone grill with one minute until closing and they sold me a soda with a smile. You suck Steak Escape… learn customer service, because that’s your job!!!

What was I thinking coming to the mall for lunch? Many years ago I used to work at this mall and remember a time when I couldn’t stand the smell of the food court. The only thing that I didn’t mind eating was at Steak Escape. Earlier today I decided to give it another go, mistake. What happened to the steak? It escaped for sure because all I could taste was green peppers and onions. They did put a generous amount of cheese at least, but the meat portion was lacking. The fries were extremely soggy! The service was friendly but the food wasn’t good. By far probably some of the worst fries I’ve ever had. This will be my last time there, I should have listened to my fellow Unilocalers.

«my review is subjective» This place is exactly what you would expect being that it is inside a mall food court. I wouldn’t go here again. My fries were soggy.

I ordered a combo. that’s what the sign says. However its just a sandwich and fries. drink not included. I waited about 5 minutes. Upon receiving my order my fries were cold. I ask the employee to replace them and they did with no problem. So I watched them make the fries. the employees where mixing the new fries with old fries. FIFO. First In First Out. You should have some holding time for your products so your employees know when to throw the fries out. None of the employees where smiling and most of no Thank You!!! Basic

Good sandwich and exactly the overpriced service you would expect at a mall eatery. At least there is seating inside available when the food court fills up.

It’s been a while since I’ve been to Steak Escape, I used to go there when I was a kid, with my father and my sister, at this exact same location. I loved Steak Escape for its hot, thick fries and freshly-grilled steak topped with melted provolone in a mayonnaise-coated bun. Yummy. Ten years later, my sister tells me that Steak Escape is not what it used to be. I decide to confirm her claims and give the place itself a visit. Unfortunately, she is right. Among the positives, the fries served by this place are still good. They say they’re freshly cut and freshly fried, and I believe them because the fries are piping hot and tasty just as I remember them. They’re not the best fries I’ve ever had, of course, but they’re the best fries I expected from Steak Escape. Here are the negatives. To get to the point, there just wasn’t enough steak on the sandwich. Was it good steak? Sure. But for this price, there should not be more bread than steak on a sandwich. The taste of the tomatoes didn’t pop, nor did the taste of the onions. The bread was soft, but not warm enough to match the temperature of the steak. I don’t know what else was the problem, but it just wasn’t up to snuff at all.(The mayonnaise and provolone cheese save this review from being a one star.) As for the service, it was neither good nor bad. The cashier was being coached, so she was clearly a new recruit. Therefore, I can’t make a fair judgement. I looked up Steak Escape and discovered a few more locations in the Los Angeles area. I hope to try them one day in the hopes that there is at least one good Steak Escape still out there.

Stopped at this place for lunch today and ordered one large sandwich, one loaded potato, buffalo nuggets, some drinks and fries. 2 adults 1 kid = $ 27.xx !! Wth. Ok… maybe it’s delicious. It’s not… the buffalo chicken sandwich was bad. Excessively breaded chicken shouldn’t be wrapped in more bread. Add the gross cheese and it becomes inedible. The potato was cold, more gross cheese. Here’s the real tell… it had bacon on it, and my gf didn’t eat it. She would eat rotten sour cream if it had bacon on it. The fries were good and thats really the only thing that was edible. We all shared the fries to fill our stomach. We pretended that we got full eating good fast food worth $ 27 and left the mall. Im still digesting bread and haven’t eaten since… also still feel bad about the money.

l stopped in to this place because of their sign for Buffalo wings. There are few things I love more than hot wings. This restaurant is in the food court of a mall and it was ten minutes to closing. When I placed my order the sales lady said, «To go?» That lost them the first star. I know it’s closing and you want to get home but don’t treat your customers like we’re a burden to you. I got them to go because otherwise, they would have spit in them. I watched them make the wings(which are really just nuggets). They deep fry them, then squirt sauce on them in a paper cup. The cook put them in a bag along with napkins and ranch dressing and I left. On the way out of the court, I saw an open table outside so I decided to eat there. It was a good thing that I did because when I looked inside the bag, I found that the cup did not have a lid on it! What if I had taken these in my car and the cup tipped over? I would have had red sauce all over my car. And my car is green! You don’t mix red and green outside of the holidays! Minus another star. Then I tried them. They were horrible! The nuggets were mostly breading, so much so that I couldn’t even taste the chicken. And the sauce was not wing sauce at all. It didn’t have any heat to it! It was barely above ketchup. If I could give these guys no stars, I would. Avoid this place at all costs.

Had a sandwhich wrap that was pretty decent & hot. However, the Restaurant ran out of BBQ sauce & lemonade. I’m not a fan of being told«sorry we ran out».

Under new management, everyone is much nicer here. Food is good, fries are freaking amazing. Don’t forget the seasoned salt! Kind of expensive but much better food than the rest of the mall.
