I have been going to this restaurant my whole life and my family has been going since 1961. We have stuck with them through 4 different owners but now I will not be returning. The food has totally changed. Starting with the signature bean dip. It is no longer the same recipe. And then my favorite was the spanish rice. It was horrible!!! It now has no flavor and didn’t seem to be cooked all the way. I left with a tear in my eye as another family tradition is now gone. I was so disappointed in the food and I am so sad that they would change something that has kept people coming back for decades. The new owner have just lost very loyal customers through these changes.

Good spot for Mexican food, the owner is originally from Jerez, Zacatecas. Good people, enjoyable atmosphere.

I’m sorry but this food is awful!!! I should have guessed when I walked in on Friday evening at 7pm and the restaurant had 2 guests. I was craving Mexican and we live very close, sherwood forest. We were starving and didn’t feel like driving to our usually spot. I know the Inn has been around for like 40 years and is still open so we figured it was a hidden«hole in the wall» WRONG!!! My husband and I LOVE mexican food and we are big time Foodies! So… chips… okay, bean dip… ok. Chicken with green sauce… very very dry and tasted like they opened up a store bought salsa verde jar and poured it on the chicken, warmed it up in oven then served. The bean that came with the dish were very sour… like they put pace picante sauce in their beans, rice… mediocre, not authentic whatsoever!!! My husbands enchiladas were a huge improvement from my dish but still, very very mediocre. A few more couples came in while we were there and were over 60 yrs of age and caucasian… must be their regulars. The service was terrible. The waitresses wanted to take our food after a few bites. We really needed water and took 20 minutes to receive it. So sorry I rarely write bad reviews for the restaurants we go to but if you are fan of mexican food PLEASE Don’t ever Go!!!

I’m a fan of Mexican food, but by far this is the worst and unacceptable Mexican food I’ve ever had. The quality of the meats is the worse. It was a really disappointed experience.

Hola amigos! The Tortilla Inn has been here forever and is a great place for Mexican food. It’s the type of place you can walk in and get a seat with no wait. Right away we got served with fresh, hot chips with an awesome bean dip and hot salsa. Started off with the albondigas soup which was pretty good. I also had the chicken taco plate with rice and beans. The taco was really good and came loaded with everything on it. I had my usual Long Island ice tea and it was great! They have a full bar and serve the drinks strong. They also have a kid’s menu for the little gringos in your life. The service was quick and outstanding. Don’t be scared off by the décor. It’s old school(probably original furniture). It’s one of those places that keeps Christmas lights up year round(check out the bar)! So grab your Spanish for Dummies book and get on over to the Inn for some comida buena!

I like that this is a family owned local restaurant. The service was fine and the waitress friendly. Food was good, not great and drinks were also fine. The booth we sat in was torn up and old and the place overall could use a little love inside. Overall, the experience was fine, not amazing, but a decent neighborhood spot.

I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. The staff is made up of wonderful people. The owners Lynn and Raul always make you feel like you are part of the family. The head waitress Elaine is equally amazing and knows the menu front to back. The bean dip and spicy salsa are enough to make you wan to come back. However, the food speaks for itself. Everything on the menu from the chile Colorado to the arroz con pollo is executed flawlessly. You will want to come back again and again. Don’t miss out on the Tortilla Inn! It is the gem of the valley!

I’ve lived in the Valley for 35 years and had no idea this place existed until three years ago. It’s hidden and doesn’t seem to promote at all, therefore word of mouth is, I’m guessing, how they draw. My grandma loves this place. Not because the food is excellent, rather because it’s the cheapest sit down Mexican spot she can remember. It’s all about value, not taste, right? Well, maybe when you are in your 90s. I’ve brought family, friends and grandma here the last few years and not sure 100 percent how I feel. Is it better than Presidente? Sure. And, probably better than Los Hadas, too. And, it ranks higher than El Torito because the service is much better here. When ordering bring a flashlight(or they’ll let you borrow one seriously, because it’s a dark restaurant. Their guacamole and salsa is pretty good, but I haven’t tasted anything that made me crave a return. It all tastes like average Mexican food. Fortunately, average here is much more affordable that the larger chains in the Valley — and here you get a family atmosphere and good service.

This place was ok. Not authentic but not bad. It is very close to where I live so that’s why we came here.

I feel like a good sit down Mexican restaurant is unheard of in this part of the valley. Ton of quick, walk-up and go restaurants that are great like Taco Llama… and there are few sit-downs with pretty mediocre food like Los Toros and El Presidente. But at Tortilla Inn, you get actually GOOD Mexican food, sit-down style with waiters and alcohol! It’s definitely our new favorite Mexican place to go to when we’re craving Mexican and don’t want takeout. Drinks are great here. The strawberry margaritas are deeeeeeelicious. And if you want real, non-girly drinks, I hear they make them pretty good, too. The bar is always full, which is a good sign. Great bean dip. Great asada. Just good all around. Family-owned and very friendly. Can’t beat that!

Just spent $ 90 on drinks & lunch for my daughter & I. While at the bar my purse fell on the floor and was there for about 10 minutes until picked up by my daughter on her way back from the bathroom. When I got in my daughters car I went in my purse for gum & found a menagerie of ROACHES!!! OMG, I’m so upset, haven’t been here for years but love this mom n pop. #Help I’m actually truly upset because this family has been here for years. I’ve enjoyed numerous times here with friends but ROACHES that get in your purse whether on the floor or bar, I’m totally freaked out. Do I tell them, ask for my money back, report it?. #Pleasehelp

I love Tortilla Inn. It has been the go to place for my family for three generations. The owners and workers are the best. The food is great and one of the entrees is our old family recipe. Great ambiance, like stepping back into time for me whenever I go. Try the Steak Ewing, its as fiery as our namesake suggests! :)

This place is a little hidden gem. An older authentic sit down restaurant with red booths, a bar, and it even has«old school» Mexican pictures on the wall. Love it! Portions are good, margaritas are one of the best in the valley, and the food tastes home made. One word describes the food, deeeeeeelicious.

Got the carne asada nachos and the meat was delicious. Nachos had a variety of toppings too. Portion was big enough to share with my husband. We received complimentary nachos, salsa, and bean dip when first seated. Overall food was flavorful. Waitress was extremely attentative and sweet. My only dislike was the ambiance, the dark lighting made the place feel sombre. I will definitely go back.

I love this place for it’s cozy mom and pop type feel. Inside the restaurant is dimly lit, which I really like. Their food is really good, and certainly different than the Americanized offerings of El Torito and Acapulco. Service is good, although no great. The margaritas are very tasty. For the last 5 years I’ve dined here every 2 or 3 months, and I will return. Something about this place that I really like. I should mention, this place is really small, and sort of a hole in the wall, but if you’re local, this is definitely a nice place for a casual Mexican dinner.

Maybe 5 stars, but I didn’t have a margarita, so I’ll have to re-evaluate at that time… At the suggestion of my landlord, who’s mother had been going to the Tortilla Inn since it was first built, I stopped by with a friend who was visiting from LA. The inside is pretty dark and coming in from a bright July day it was a bit startling at first(Ala Casa Vega…) Bean Dip!!! Fresh Salsa! Great Service from long time Staff! Great food! **WINNING** I’ll be baaaack…
