The studio is really clean. I start practice in this studio for 3 years. Many skillful masters and instructers are helping and teaching so well. I learn alot of self defense skill to protect me and family. Thanks so much for Grand master Koo and many other instructors. This studio change my life to become a better student.. !

This studio is simply one of the best around. The Grand Master was trained by one of the founders of modern Taekwondo, and he has trained all of his masters and instructors in the true and traditional ways of the martial art. It is not one of those fly-​by-​night «black belt factories» whose degrees are not worth the paper they are printed on. This is a legitimate studio affiliated with the central Taekwondo organization in Korea, the Kukkiwon, as well as with other official international and U.S. Taekwondo organizations. It’s as professional as they get, and you will learn Taekwondo according to the best methods that have evolved over thousands of years.
As a student and a parent, I can also say that this is one of the most nurturing and encouraging studios you will find. The instructors know that it takes time to learn and to master Taekwondo, and you will never find any of the teachers ridiculing or making students feel that they are somehow «behind» others. Everyone goes at their own pace – children, teenagers, and adults – with the understanding that it only takes effort and practice to get better. If you want to learn this wonderful art of self defense, or if you want your children to learn the art while getting great exercise and developing their physical and mental strength in a fun and supportive environment, join this studio. The rewards are immense.

We started group sessions, which is actually a lot more fun since you get to know other students. There are all ages in the evening classes, from 4 – 5 year olds to 50+. The classes are a mix of white belts all the way to 3^rd degree+ black belts. It actually works out because the black belts help train the lower belts and the levels split off into groups for their own skill practice. Some days everyone spars with a partner, switching off.

I used to go here back in when I was younger. the studio has gotten renovations that make it look a lot nicer than what it looked like before. The instruction in my opinion has gotten a bit softer but it is definitely better than some other studios I’ve been in. definitely good to go to as a gateway martial art.

I have been at US Taekwondo Porter Ranch for over 10 years learning under Master Ko. I highly recommend this dojo to any parent who wants their child to learn martial arts and gain discipline and self confidence in the process. It is also a great place for adults who want to stay in shape, learn traditional Taekwondo and self defense.

I have been a student of Master Ko, now Grand Master Ko for close to 20 years. When I started with Master Ko I had moved around quite a bit, had a senior belt and been with 3 other Dojo’s. When I came to this area there were 8 Dojo’s. I met with each of the Master’s in the 8 Dojo’s and took a lesson. What I found different with Master Ko is I didn’t feel like a number. I felt I could get quality martial arts training from a man who really cared. So now 20 years later, Grand Master Ko is the kind, honorable, generous man that I suspected 20 years ago. I am still Master Ko’s student and probably will be until one of us dies.

I am absolutely blown away that nobody has reviewed this Dojo yet! I actually searched again to make sure I was looking at the right place! Well then it’ll be an honor to be the first review here. Let me tell anyone who is looking to get serious about staying in shape or learning a martial art… THIS IS THE REAL DEAL!
I am a 29 year old guy who had zero martial arts experience. Well, my parents forced me to go for a month when I was a kid and I failed miserably. So you can imagine that when I thought about learning Taekwondo it was a big step for me. I had learned about this dojo from a friend who attended years ago and still had great things to say about it. This actually wasn’t the first place I attended. Unfortunately I wasted a week of my life at a McDojo in Reseda that was a complete ripoff. It left such a bad taste in my mouth that I was ready to give up. That is until I stepped foot in this place.
First of all, the masters here are genuine black belts recognized by the Kuki Won in Korea. Grand master Ko is a REAL grand master! That’s a big deal! He is the genuine artlicle and so are the other instructors (here is the link about him on the website
). Korean instructors teaching a Korean martial art is the way it should be. I’m sorry but Johnny Dynamite Studio taught by a 25 year old «Master» who was born and raised in Granada Hills just isn’t going to do it for me. You won’t find any of that here. The studio is small, clean, and authentic. Yes, there are a lot of children who attend the studio. If you don’t like that then get over it. Taekwondo is a great way for kids to learn discipline and respect for their elders. The instructors don’t tolerate rude behavior or disrespect from the children and I really admire them for that. Besides, there are many adults who attend the evening classes who are serious about training and are a great source for advise and information.
I have been going here for about 5 months now and am about to test for my yellow stripe belt. This isn’t a place you can buy a belt, you have to earn it. Don’t bother going on the internet and looking up the belt colors and the amount of time it takes to get them. The belt and the time it takes to earn a belt are appropriate for your skill level and how hard you train. If you want to know «how long will it take to get my blackbelt» then you have the wrong attitude.
This Dojo is not inexpensive. You will not get away with paying what you pay for a gym membership, but that’s because you get a lot of personal attention and can come any day during the week you want. When I was attending the other «McDojo» in Reseda I was paying a lot more and could only come twice a week. I was told that if I wanted to come more that I had to pay for the «Masters Club». If you find yourself in that situation please do yourself a favor and get out. You are welcome to come join our family instead. And I say family because it is exactly that. We care about eachother and treat one another with respect. I am very happy to have made several friends here that I would not want to lose.

You’ll see me there 4 – 5 times a week at the 7pm evening classes. If I can do it then I promise any of you can! I have tried so many different kinds of gyms and workout regiments that ended in failure. But here? This place keeps you coming back!

Master Ko, Master Luc, and Master Lee are great instructors. The 7 – 8 class is great for people of all ages and I highly recommend it.
