This place is a gem. Customer service is amazing!!! The place is clean and the food is made really well and fresh. If you want sushi and are in the Northridge area, you need to stop by here.

I’ve been here twice now, both times everything we ordered was perfect! Easily my favorite sushi in both SCV and SFV!

Love the lunch special! you get a bit of everything… salad, rice, tempura, and I love the spicy chicken. Prices for the sushi are standard and reasonable. It is nice that they all say hi and welcome when you walk in the door.

Been coming to this place for a really long time and got to know the owners really well. But that’s not the reason why I’m giving them an excellent review. I happen to be a big fan of their sushi. Everything is fresh and very tasty. My favorite is the Fire Tiger. No other sushi place makes that and if they do have something similar, it’s not the same. For non-sushi items, their chicken teriyaki lunch special is great. Here’s to many more years of success! Keep up the great work!

This is now out favorite Sushi House. We went with the chefs choice and he did not disappoint. It was lovely to look at and even better to savor.

Really good sushi, quick service, quiet atmosphere, what more could you ask for in a restaurant.

This sushi place is pretty good. I tried the 911, crunch roll, and the heart attack. The 911 was very spicy, so be careful. The crunch was tasty, and the eel sauce was a bit sweet. The heart attack was pretty good. It didn’t have rice, but it had tuna and cream cheese along with tempura jalapeño. The staff was friendly and everyone welcomed us and said bye at the end. If this place had longer happy hour, it would’ve been a lot better. But overall I was happy with the service and food.

I’m constantly looking for new sushi places in the valley and I can’t believe I’ve missed out on this one for so long. You can tell just by their menu roll selection that it’s going to be good. I got the bluefin tuna hand roll because everyone on Unilocal’s raving about it… I wasn’t disappointed, reeeally good. Also got salmon sushi and it’s a little pricier than other places in the area but definitely worth it. I hate when I pick up my food and my Sushi is warm. mine was nice and cold even by the time I got home. Nicely done guys. I’ll see you soon

For someone who has never tried actual real sushi in their life I have to say I was quite impressed on how good it actually tasted. Im not a big fish person whenever I would go to sushi restaurants I would usually order my normal california rolls with garlic edamame. My Husband always raved about this place and how good their blue fin tuna is. He ordered a blue fin tuna hand roll and when it came out I wanted to try it, it looks really good. One bite and sure enough it was delicious the flavors of the tuna, cucumber and rice was the perfect combination. It didnt smell fishy or taste fishy it tasted really good. I ate the whole hand roll. Claps hand. Yaay me!!! I also tried thr garlic edamame which I wasnt too crazy for. I’ve had better. The Night Eye was actually really good too. It was a cut roll and the flavors of sweet and spicy was nice. I also tried the STDF spicy tuna deep fried the little crispy biscuit. The spicy mayo and jalapeño was a nice touch and it was so yummy and crunchy. All in all this is a great spot the people working here are very friendly, the sushi tasted great. I can’t believe I finally tried real sushi and loved it. Thanks Yunagi for making my first time a great time. Will be back! This place is located on Corbin and Nordoff in a shopping center. Free miso soup with Unilocal check in.

I found this place when I first started working in the nearby business park, then it was Great Western Bank. Therefore, its been years and years ago. Time went on, and I relocated jobs time-after-time. I now work nearby and decided to re-visit a familiar place. In short, this place is still Awesome! It was like I never left! I had the lunch special, which was six dollars and some change, which came with: Chicken Teryiaki, tumpura, two california rolls, salad, and steamed rice. All of this was for the price of a drive through. The customer service is very good, and I was able to have a peaceful lunch having a delicious meal. If you are in the area, then you have to stop in!

I wish I could write a review about the food here but unfortunately I can’t. I live right down the street and have always wanted to check this place out. I literally just left the restaurant. I walked in with three of my friends and the server just stared at us. I asked for a table and she said there is nothing available. I saw seats at the sushi bar and asked if we can sit there and she said she will clean it off. Then she put her hand in my face and told us we needed to wait outside. Terrible service. We left immediately.

Still the best sushi bar around! High quality fish that melts in your mouth! Try the hand rolls, they’re fantastic! We love the salmon and the halibut. Plus the heart attack has the perfect amount of spice and awesome flavor. The owners and staff are so personable and friendly. This is a 5 star restaurant no matter when you go there. Try their lunch too! The hot food is really tasty. Thanks Yanagi. You are the best!

This has to be one of the worst quality sushi places I’ve been to. The service was okay, and the restaurant is owned and run by Korean people. The quality of the food was really poor. I came in during lunchtime to an empty restaurant, which was probably a red flag. No lunch rush. We ordered and the staff was pleasant. Two of their soy sauce dishes were dirty with food residue. As for the food, the rice in the rolls were dry. It was like someone had left the rice out overnight and let it get hard. It was dense. I got the chirashi sushi. The portions are pretty generous, I’ll admit. It came with a nice variety of fish, with not too much rice. It also came with a bunch of radish strips made with a spiralizer, which just took up space. I’m a bit of a sushi snob, so I have a tendency to sniff my fish before eating it. Half of the fish gave off a slight fish smell, and didn’t smell fresh. I drowned my fish with soy sauce, which was a first for me. It made things more pleasant. The rice in my chirashi bowl was seasoned nicely, and the rice was much better than that in the roll. I know the fish is not fresh because I got FOODPOISONING from this place. Actually, the two other people I came with got food poisoning as well even though we all ordered different things. The price was also pretty high for the amount of food you get, regardless of the food poisoning. I would only recommend this place for cooked rolls, although I didn’t try any. I wouldn’t waste money on their sashimi.

I have been going to this restaurant for over 10 years. It is still owned by the same couple. I have met their entire family since each one of them have worked there at one time or another. There has been a lot of changes in the shopping center over the years with different stores and restaurants coming and going but they managed to stay in business. It’s probably because they have a lot of loyal customers. The restaurant is basically a fast food type Japanese restaurant where you order your food at the counter and then sit down. They do have a sushi bar where sushi chefs prepare your sushi upon request if that’s more to your liking. This a great restaurant to visit for lunch if you work nearby. It is very affordable.

An ok sushi place overall. The highlight of the meal was the Oh baby roll. Another roll I got was some sort of spicy jalapeño roll but the jalapeño was way too big and overpowered the roll. Honestly this place was mediocre at best and left a weird aftertaste in my mouth when I was done eating. There are far better places in the valley to do sushi. I only came here with a friend because she lives nearby. Not sure if I would come back. At least the customer service was decent.

Oh man, I don’t get it. This was not fresh fish in my opinion. The staff was awesome so I feel guilty posting this review but I also feel compelled to put it out there for other«sushi snobs» such as myself. I saw the 4 star rating and I was excited since most sushi on this side of town is so mediocre. Everything I ordered from, octopus to albacore to yellow tail was just not good. The rolls were ok, but that doesn’t count in my opinion. If your fish isn’t fresh and mouth watering it’s easy to make rolls and mask the freshness of the fish in eel sauce, spicy mayo and ponzu. As awesome as the staff was I have to pass.

Everyone there very nice. The rolls were not great but two or three were tolerable. Salmon sushi Good. Mackerel sushi Bad. Price was reasonable but it SHOULD be for so-so food. No Sake menu and the cold sake they brought to me was not good… bad even. Maybe it’s wrong to compare this place to Sugarfish or Sushi Zo or Shunji… but there are a LOT of other little gems hidden away in strip malls around los angeles… this just isn’t one of them.

Where do I start? I use to go to Chiba in North Hollywood, but after I moved it just got to be too much of a trip. So, I was thrilled when we found Rock N Sushi in North Hills. The service at Rock N Sushi is pretty horrible, so we saught out again to find a new place. I am so pleased my husband suggested we pop in here. It is so nice to have such quality food so close to home. Tons of parking, clean, never too crowded, and the staff is really nice. Their menu is endless!!! I have so much fun pouring all over it between rolls. Top quality fish & veggies. OH! And the sake is always served HOT which is something I appreciate greately. The staff is so nice & hospitable. I love stopping here after work for quiet time, or date night with my husband. it’s something I really look forward to all week!

I’m really starting to like this place. I like how it’s never too busy, and the quality and service keep me coming back. They have great sushi lunch specials, and I recently tried a few of their popular rolls, and they were all pretty good. We tried the oh baby, double albacore, and in and out roll. Great place to have a casual dinner date, everyone there is very easygoing.
