2 stars for customer service it sucks real bad we got our order late. The host is very slow at sitting people down. She looks mad and unprofessional. The atmosphere is very crowded. Sushi chef yelling and getting mad at waitress. Got our bill when we barely got our order. Workers gossiping by the bathroom about waitress’s and host having sex with the chefs. What kind of a place is this? So unprofessional! Other than the bad customer service. The sushi was ok, rice was not fully cook either. Avocado is soggy. Busser taking plates from next table and waving a dirty towel. Disgusting and unsanitary. Burbank is wayyyy better!

The server forgot to put in our rolls. Wasted my time. I was so hungry. Waited 45 mins and they never checked up on us if we got our rolls yet. Disappointing.

So I’m from the east coast and our sushi is totally different. A dynamite roll from the east cost is a deep fried roll with salmon and asparagus. Here on the west coast there was imitation krab roll with cucumber topped with scallops and scallions. Two totally different sushi with the same name. I prefer the east coast dynamite roll, but this dynamite roll was good! I also got a salmon crunch roll that was good. The service was fast but the restaurant wasn’t busy when we went. They had a variety of sushi rolls

Atmosphere was ok. Modern but sparse. The food was mediocre at best. Nothing seemed house made. Fried squid was pretty much the same as the pre-battered frozen squid legs from the Japanese market. The sauce accompanying the spicy tuna on crispy rice was bottled ranch dressing. Fish variety on the sashimi plate reminded me of sansai. The spicy sauce that came with the fried chicken tasted like teriyaki sauce mixed with sambal. Factory made frozen gyoza. The menu definitely looked better than the food that they served. Half of the things seemed like it came from prepackaged bottled or frozen goods. Not a place I’d go for food. On the other hand, the sake list is good. The vibe is good. I’d go at night for Americanized rolls and drinks. The music probably sounds great in this space.

Based on the reviews I read, this place is underrated. Came here tonight for happy hour. We walked in at 5:30pm and the place had only a few people. We were seated right away and greeted by our waiter. The place is pretty big and has a great modern ambience. We ordered sake, beer, garlic chilli edemame, and the spicy tuna rice cakes all for $ 5 each for happy hour. The appetizers came out pretty quickly and were really good. We were off to the right start. My husband ordered salmon, albacore, and yellowtail. I ordered the spicy tuna roll and the rose roll. My husband’s order came out in about 5 minutes and he said the salmon was delicious and the other 2 were pretty good. My order on the other hand came out about 25 minutes later. If the place was busy I wouldn’t be surprised, but there were about 3 other tables and 3 sushi chefs. 25 minutes for a simple spicy tuna roll is unheard of. That’s the only reason why I’m giving this place 4 stars instead of 5. During the long wait for my order, my husband’s next order(sumo roll) was ordered and had been brought to our table. Not sure why mine took so long, but it must’ve just been bad luck. My spicy tuna and rose roll were both delicious. They could’ve used some sort of sauce on top(spicy Mayo or eel sauce?), But nonetheless they were solid, flavorful rolls. especially for happy hour prices. This place is a solid 4 star sushi spot. Pretty good sushi for good prices. I don’t know if this place is worth full price, so I’ll definitely be back, but only during happy hour. Give H2O a chance, you won’t regret it!

Maybe it was because we came on a day that was really busy, but whatever the reason… it was a horrible experience :(It started with us trying to get seated, then giving up and going to the sushi bar. From there, some of us were getting waters while others had to wait – employees seemed very disorganized. It took us a good while to order, and even had to get our own menus. Food took a long while to get out as well, and my order came out much later than everyone else’s. I saw the sushi chef scream at a waitress for«getting an order wrong» when it wasn’t her fault(no apology from him by the way) and I saw the same sushi chef screaming out orders and getting visibly frustrated when no one acknowledged the roll that he pushed out. It was stressful watching the sushi chefs at work as they all seemed grumpy. Food itself was okay – pretty generic sushi rolls that weren’t bad, but weren’t amazing either. Wasabi is not spicy at all, so don’t be shy when putting it into your soy sauce. Luckily, payment went without issues, and we got out of there as soon as we could. I will be avoiding this place at all costs…

Food is amazing! 5 star! Service can range between 1 – 5 stars. *** Please do not let this one experience we had alienate you from coming to this place, I highly doubt that a place that is as beautiful as this and food that is this good would have service like this all the time, this was a rarity. That is why I give them three stars and not more or less. *** I first must say, The ambiance and look of this place is fantastic! Great look and very sleek and upbeat and clean, yet somehow you are in your own little world in Japan if your in the right mood and with the right company. That being said we showed up around 2:30pm, only about two other tables were occupied. Started off great, a young lady took our drink order extremely fast and was right back to take our first food order. Then the problem occurred. By this time is was getting close to Happy Hour at 3:00pm. It took about 30 – 40 minutes before we really started wondering where out food was. Other Customers started getting their food and then we called over another server. Personally I don’t think the kitchen was backed up like the young lady said because other people were getting their food, surprisingly just not us. I don’t want to make assumptions but I think the young lady who took the order in the first place was the bartender since she was never seen again on the floor again and was behind the bar. So we told them what we had ordered and it took them less than 7 minutes to get it to out table. Like I said before the food was amazing. Ginger and Wasabi are top notch, and they made sure we were ok on drinks the entire time. The manager on duty was extremely nice and I wanted to make sure he gets his dues here, this was on 5÷22÷2016. Thank you sir for your hospitality in this matter! The Manager walked over and expressed how sorry he was and told us that our Lunch tray that we ordered and took so long to arrive was going to be taken off the bill. The bill for all out food, a couple green tea’s and two beers was $ 36.00. Not including the lunch tray, but even with that the bill would have been $ 12.00 more for a total of $ 47.00. HOURS: Mon-Sat 11:00am-12:00am Sun 12:00pm-11:00pm HAPPYHOUR: Mon-Sat(SUNDAY?) 3:00pm-6:00pm Everyday 9:00pm-Close *** I added Sunday for Happy Hour at 3:00pm. They did have Happy Hour at 3:00pm on Sunday when we were there. So please disregard the times on their website! *** TIP — Keep in mind this is a mall along with many popular restaurants nearby, parking may not be easy, or close. TIP — Happy hour at 3:00pm, GO during that time. If you get there around 3:00pm just as it is starting to get a bit busy and you can get a table fast. TIP — Again Happy Hour prices are fantastic. I would love to elaborate on what we ordered but this being only the second time I have ever had sushi I can’t really tell you what we got.(see my pictures, everything is in there). Enjoy!

We have been coming to this eatery for quite some time. But today, I’m for sure will not be going back again. We walked in to the place that’s almost empty, only 2 –3 table, still the service was slow, didn’t get our water even after the food started to come out. We know what we like from this place and always ordered the same thing. Sometimes it hit and once in a while it miss. Today 5 out of 8 items we ordered was a complete miss. I noticed the other table was also complaining to the manager, I didn’t feel like it. Unilocaled it and moved on.

One start for this trip! Fot my bill to pay before I ever got my tiger roll, my son got his teriyaki sauce twenty minutes after he got his meal, never got extra napkins, never got refills, got miso soup thirty minutes after meal, ANDNEVERGOTMYSALAD! How disappointing…

Been here twice. Both times I got the garlic seared tuna. this time i got two orders of it: P. The place is clean and service is pretty good. Would have given it 5 stars, but both times there was an issue with my order(which is as simple as it gets). The first time they gave me a different tuna dish, but comped it when i complained(I still paid for the garlic tuna when they brought the correct one). The second time our server told us our order of sake and seared tuna was going to take a long time because the chef was working on a to go order… thanks for making me feel like a priority(sarcasm) Good food, but i wasn’t blown away. Prices are not as good as previous reviews claim(compared to other sushi places in the area).

This sushi place is on fire, get the H20.(After you try Their sushi you will understand what I am talking about.). I love Everything about H20. Their décor is hip and their sushi rocks. I tried my favorite the Spicy Tuna Roll and its was delicious, the tuna was fresh and cold, the color was bright and appetizing. I also order the Scream roll and it was amazing, softly rolled crab, Avocado, tuna, and jalapeños, what a love fest it was. Delicious!!! I will be coming back for sure.

Went to H2o after not going for several months. My opinion of the food, service, etc. still remains the same as my previous review However, I feel I had to deduct a star purely based on principle. I tried to use my Unilocal checkin offer that I had saved from my last checkin, and they REFUSED to honor it claiming they don’t do the Unilocal checkin offer anymore. Saved checkin offers do not have an expiration date. I showed them my coupon that i have screenshot and attached here and all they would say i was sorry. I get that it is an inexpensive but it is the principle of it. To fight a customer over something so cheap too really bothers me. It isnt even like it was a 50% off coupon or something, but they should have honored it, period. It left a very bitter taste in my mouth.

My one star review is based on the horrible customer service I received from our waitress. We ordered the spider roll, dynamite roll, yakitori, soft crab roll, unagi roll, and two other rolls. The looked on the menu to see if the dynamite roll came with mayonnaise and it did not. The picture also did not have mayonnaise. When the order came out, the dynamite roll was drenched in mayonnaise. I figured, what the hell. let’s not be a jerk and at least try it, that way if I like it, the roll wouldn’t go to waste as I would have probably told them to take it back. I tried one piece and my friend tried the other piece and we both did not care for it. When I told our waitress, she said«some people order it without mayonnaise. Try ordering it without mayonnaise next time.» …I’m sorry. what? YES. I understand that dynamite rolls typically come with mayonnaise but YOURMENU did not have MAYONNAISE in on there. YOURPICTURE did not have mayonnaise in it… How would I know to not order mayonnaise when I did not know it would come with mayonnaise?!? I did not appreciate the waitress’s attitude. This was my second time here and I will not be coming back. Their other menu items were all right. Customer service is a big thing and that is no way to treat a customer.

First off, yay for Happy Hour. If it weren’t for that, I wouldn’t have gone. Checked this place out after seeing a movie next door(first time for both). My dining partner and I chose 7 rolls off the Happy Hour menu. As far as I remember, we had a Sumo Roll, Rose Roll, Crunch Roll. and that’s all I remember. :P The place was pretty packed for almost 10PM. We had to wait about 15 minutes before getting a table. Service was mostly good, but not super, super fast. I understand because, again, it was pretty crowded. The main thing, though, of course, is the sushi, and it was. super mediocre. Everything kind of tasted the same, in a way. I have no idea how/why. There’s literally nothing memorable. The best roll was probably the Rose Roll, but nothing else was really very good. I doubt I’ll ever be back here. Sushi + Tax + Tip = $ 61.

What brings in business for this sushi spot at the mall is definitely the happy hour. Basically everything is half off. Lots of space even on a week night or weekend. This place can get busy but we have never waited. Service: Actually service is really good here. I just really dislike receiving the bill. The last two times it feels like I’m waiting more than I should. I know this place has potential but as if right now it’s a so so. Sushi: I had a couple of yakitoris, I love the fried squid. So crunchy and yummy! The bacon and aspargus is a little too salty for me, but that’s just me. I had the rose roll, which was pretty delicious. I had thier crunch roll, maybe I had too much but I wasn’t really feeling it. Décor: Very spacious, very loud music and lots of booths for big parties. Prices: This place gets high ratings especially majority of the busy times are happy hour. Which is an awesome thing. Overall: It’s a three stars, this place can bring even more business if just service just step it up a notch. You guys for sure get praise with dealing with a lot of college students who maybe tip you 10 percent at best. Keep it up guys.

This place reminds me so much of Octopus. They almost have the same vibe and set up. The menu and the prices are very similar as well. They have great happy hour. We were promptly greeted by a nice hostess and we were seated right away. The service is great and attentive. The sushi are fresh and amazing! The yellowtail is to die for! The overal clealiness of this place is at a 10.

Pretty good deals during happy hour. You save a few dollars off select rolls. Fish quality isn’t too bad, probably the best in the area. I was expecting the yakitori skewers to be dry and bland but I was pleasantly surprised. They were actually pretty good and you can also get a pork belly or chicken for free with a check in. Two rolls, 3 yakitori skewers(1 free with checkins), and salmon nigiri for under $ 25. I do with nigiri sushis were part of their happy hour though. Service was good but towards the end of our meal we couldn’t find anyone for 10 minutes to ask for our check.

Pretty close replica of Octopus. One of the newest additions to Northridge mall. Honestly, I do not recognize that place anymore but that might be for the better. FOOD/SERVICE: Love sushi? Good. Intrigued by dimly futuristic looking interiors? Yep. A happy hour participant? Excellent. You’re right where you should be. Tasteful appetizers: Go with the jumbo shrimp(good presentation & taste). Can never go wrong with the Broiled mussels! Skip out on the furikake fries– You hardly taste the furikake. Tons of rolls to choose from: Salmon crunch & Sensual are my personal favorites. As for service? Friendly, most days. My favorite visit was when our waitress wrote a note to us that we were sitting right behind Brian McKnight. She was awesome. ATMOSPHERE: Families who love sushi, this would be a great family get together spot. If you’ve already hit up Buffalo Wild Wings one weekend, then Yardhouse another, might as well keep the theme going with your date & tackle H2O as well. Then go visit another area already! Oh yeah. Free yakitori for you Unilocalers who remember to check in! Happy feasting!

The ambiance, food, and service is top notch here. Everything is well prepared and fresh. I cannot rave more about their seaweed salad. The dress in was crisp and slightly sweet and the addition of spring lettuce and radicchio was a welcome balance to the sweetness. We ordered some of the yakitori. Portions for these were on the small size. But what they lacked in portion they made up for in flavor. Shiitake mushrooms were delectable as were both the pork belly and bacon wrapped asparagus. Finally to the rolls. Quite amazing. I’ve had these rolls before at other places and they almost always were hit or miss, mayo-laden, greasy, and left you with a heavy feeling in your stomach. Both the crunch roll and the Vegas roll were amazing! The eel was perfectly cooked and added a little balance to the roll. I must also mention the wasabi. Theirs was fresh with some sesame seed and a little sweetness that helped to break the heat. I globbed a bunch in my soy sauce and even had some full strength. Quite good. I will be back for happy hour and when they get their liquor license!
