Great place to learn about Japanese Culture and to make new friends Great instructors who volunteer their time to teach Judo. They are all truly dedicated to the Judo culture and that’s what I like and why I bring my son to learn Judo there. Anyone who knows true martial arts will instantly sense it at this Dojo.

Judo is a great sport and Norwalk Judo is one of the places to do it at. With 80+ years of service to the community you will definitely get a great workout, I know because I threw up my first two practices and it felt great! Judo is an all body workout and you will be sweating before warm ups are over. Monthly fees are great, only $ 20 a month with some fees toward the community center, judo gis are about $ 50 compared to jujitsu gis which are $ 100+. You can’t beat the price! The senseis are committed to the sport and they teach for the love of it, again I know because they don’t take it easy on me and they throw me around all the time. There are also special appearances from the Judo world, this year Tadahiro Nomura and Yoko Tanabe stop by. Out of all the sports I’ve participated in Judo is one of the hardest and most challenging, Judo is like golf; all technique! If you’re up for a challenge and want to get in shape, just drop by!

This is the place to be if you’re in the area and interested in learning judo! I’ve been coming here for over a year and I can tell you every sensei here is committed to teach you the art of judo. Not only you’ll be learning a great martial art/Olympic sport but you’ll also be getting a great workout. Fees are extremely low($ 20/month, plus $ 10/month community fee which goes toward the Southeast Japanese Community Center that the dojo is located at) because it is non profit unlike many of the martial schools that their only interest is your money. Here you will not be charged for belt promotion, new color belts etc. You earn your new color belts here by coming to practice regularly and practice hard!
