Sleepy’s

Poor experience with Gerry today. Nice guy initially and good knowledge about the options. However his pricing information was inconsistent with himself and the sleepy’
($ 130 difference). We walked out of the store with a $ 2050 quote (including taxes) and the same mattress on sleepy’
is just under $ 1920 (including tax). Ordering mattress online from another retailer.

Easy experience here. Sales guys were attentive and definitely wanting to make a sale but not bothersome. I told them I was looking for a mattress for our guest bedroom so price was really important to me since it wouldn’t be used often. They immediately showed me the cheapest mattresses in the store and did not try to upsell me. I selected a model, we talked price, and the sales guy noticed some hesitation, he said «are you sure this is the one you want?» And I was the one who said, well the one for $ 50 more is ideal but I’m at my max. He said no problem and took $ 50 off the frame and mattress protector so I could get the one I wanted. Now I realize the frame and protector are the things they monkey with all the time to make a deal, but he already had his sale, and he basically just cut $ 50 so I could get the one I wanted.
Delivery was a breeze. They came 15 minutes into my 4 hour window. Set it up in no time, were polite, careful, no issues at all.
So happy with my purchase!

My husband and I went into Sleepy’s to buy our first new mattress yesterday and Michael Addison was incredibly helpful. He made a point to show us a mattress which we didn’t know about (sleeping beauty) that was priced as well as the mattress we thought we wanted, but had way more features that are usually only found in the more expensive branded lines (tempurpedic, etc.). He also helped us save money when he realized we had just come from a furniture store and ordered a bed, so we didn’t need the frame. Overall, I found him an extremely helpful, trustworthy and friendly person, who actually wanted us to get the best deal from a quality standpoint available, while still being sensitive to our price concerns. He was also very helpful scheduling the delivery, which involved following up with us after we left the store to confirm the delivery time we needed was indeed going to work. I’ve never written a Unilocal review before, but I was so impressed with Michael’s level of service, especially in an environment these days where customer service seems extinct in many places.

A skeptical Convert
Our mattress and frame and bed haven’t been delivered yet. They won’t be for another month – Sleepy’s is happy to hold them – but for someone who’s heard that «matress Professional» jingle for years and studiously avoided the store, no matter how convenient, because Sleepy’s after all is like dealing with a «used car salesman», I’m ready to do a mea culpa and praise them for their knowledge, professionalism, responsiveness, and incredible patience and indeed, with their store rebates and free incentives, even the best prices. It helped that the district manager was there the afternoon we wandered in, we had been to three other «reputable» sources and I had dilgently done my web homework, and we only stopped because it was on the way home and they had one of the matresses that the other two outlets didn’t and I wanted the opportunity to test drive all three. Two hours later, we ended up with a matress we didn’t set out to buy and the egrometric frame as well as an attractive, modern bedframe to put it in. That’s thanks to the district manager who was like a walking encyclopaedia of product sheets who avoided editorializing, instead giving factual, detailed commentary on each mattress and only suggesting, based on our comfort levels and sleeping styles that another one in the same line might be worth trying. So we bounced from bed to bed and after finally reaching a consensus, he led us through the purchasing process, checking the manufacturer’s web site and some competitors to insure the best price.
The store manager is equally knowedgeable and responsive and when we returned, thinking we had ordered the wrong one, he quickly rechecked, explained the hirogliphics on the invoice and demonstrated what we had ordered. They tried to order special, new pillows and when they weren’t available, suggested we go directly to the manufacturer’s web site. Meanwhile, they comped us two pillows that they did have.
So if their delivery and set up is as great as my instore experience, I will really believe that there is truth in advertising and Sleepy’s is the matress professional. I’ve bought many mattresses in my lifetime, mostly from high end department stores, usually from sales personnel who would rather be selling something else and beyond the price point, knew very little about their product. Sleepys was a revelation. These men actually like mattresses and are more than willing to share their knowledge. I’m impressed.
