Came in here to check it out. Ordered a chili dog, home fries, both exactly what we expected & wanted, and the donuts and ice coffee were amazing and definitely worth trying out if passing by. Definitely coming back

The best blueberry pancakes. I have tried different places and no one makes them like here. They are amazing, delicious, and just the right amount of blueberries in each bite. I have been coming here mostly my whole life and not once have I ever been disappointed with the food here. Bavarian crème donuts are my favorite. This place is awesome.

Fresh, fluffy doughnuts — a rarity in the factory food world we live in — and served up by Mr and Mrs Clause. Simple, but worth going out of your way for. The short order food holds its own, but it is really about the doughnuts — if the chairman of DD is reading — this is what yours USED to be like.

Not Your Daughter’s Donut Shop. Nothing hipster. No cardamom and bacon donuts or Fennel and Rosemary donuts or whatever else people wait in lines in Brooklyn to get. No. These are Old School donuts from the land that time forgot, except fresh. These are the Platonic Ideal of a Donut. I tried a French cruller and a custard filled donut. The cruller was a work of genius – light and eggy with a silken drape of milky glaze and so airy it nearly floated away. The other donut had a decadent, creamy, bourbon vanilla crème patissiere filing shrouded in a billowy envelope of yeast dough. Neither donut too sweet nor too heavy. I asked for a dozen assorted of the most popular donuts. The server, like Hermes, was fleet of foot, and courteous. And the prices! I got out of under 9 bucks! Donuts so delicious, I’m reminded of a famous Abe Lincoln quote – «The mystic chords of memory will swell when again touched… by the better angels of our nature.» Yes, these donuts are so stupendous, you will think of Lincoln after you eat one AND become a better person.

Absolutely wonderful. Simple fare, done right. The sausage egg & cheese was perfect, and the donuts were fresh and light. Forget Dunkin’, forget Starbucks. Grab a seat at the counter, get yourself a cup of coffee and a sandwich on a cold winter day, and you’ll agree: This is better. This is what you want a donut shop to be. Cash only, but ATM in store.

First time coming here; was pleasantly surprised! More seating than I expected. A group of young people were eating lunch, so it’s good for groups to sit and not feel crowded or awkward. Wonderful iced coffee! Don’t be throw off if it’s not in a big plastic cup like dunkin. It’s still great. Much better prices abd quality than any chain coffee shops. French crueller is a MUST. I wish I got more of them. I’ve lived in Norwalk my whole life and never knew about this place! Now if I’m ever on this side of town and want coffee+donuts I’m coming here!

Great local place. Family owned since I think 1969… the whole family works here. It’s kind of like the Cheers of donut shops you get to know everyone here. Very small/simple menu(eggs/pancakes/sandwiches) but food is consistent and good. Always busy on weekend mornings but can pretty much squeeze in somewhere. If you like local places that know you by name… this is it.

Was lucky to find this neighborhood gem while passing through Norwalk for a wedding. Great donuts– the French Cruller was a particular standout. It was light and eggy, and with the perfect amount of light sweetness. I will dream of those crullers. The breakfast sandwiches were also filling and tasty. Loved my sausage with egg sandwich– be sure to ask for cheese, it is not automatically added. Wonderful, friendly service. Place filled with regulars and locals.

This place makes me so happy that it brings tears to my eyes. Sugary and delicious tears. Despite living in Norwalk for 24 years, I somehow missed this place, wasting all my time at crappy chains like Dunkin or Starbucks. No more, folks. It’s back to salt of the earth basics for this girl! It makes me really happy that Speedy’s has been standing for 46 years. Everything they do, they do it well. Open for breakfast and lunch, they have a diner-style counter with a line cook, whipping up favorites like inlets and burgers. Amazing value, courteous service, and just a good time. You can get 2 doughnuts and 2 excellent cups for coffee for $ 5 — what’s not to love? While all the doughnuts are bomb digging, my personal favorite is the plain yeast one — essentially a glazed doughnut without the glaze. Sounds crazy to order, but the results are spectacular — light and fluffy as a croissant cloud. Next time I have a lung stretch of nothing planned, I’m going to do back to back meals because I’m crazy like that.

These are donuts made properly. I like them. The wait staff and customers frequently talk politics so the place has that small town feel even if it is on the Post Road.

Love this place. Family run with great customer service. The French crullers are the best I’ve ever had. I’m addicted. Check this place out. The Waffle House of the north but better. You know nothing Waffle House. Winter is coming.

Finally experienced Speedy Doughnuts for the first time in 37 years of living in Norwalk. I don’t know how this happened! The apple fritter and cruller I tried was amazeballs! Soft, sweet and crunchy in a perfect triad marriage. Next time you’re in the mood for some doughnuts, skip the chains and head here for some fresh goodness. You won’t be disappointed.

The donuts here are awesome. Dunkin Ds and Donut delight ain’t got sh*t on Speedy’s. I literally can not control my self when a box of these beautiful fried little pillows are brought in. The coconut, cruller and plain donut are musts! Breakfast sandwich are pretty good.

Love their donuts! Brought some to my very picky mom she loves them and wants more. She’s getting more for Mother’s Day. Light and fluffy fresh donuts are hard to find. Run to Speedy.

Been passing by since i moved here to norwalk about 4 years ago and never came in always heard their donuts are really good but i am not a donut lover, decided to come today after reading a great review last nite. Not sold completely on the service the girl was kind of dry maybe is because is 7am but the spider fritter was good and warm still maybe a little bit too greasy for my taste but still yummy and enjoyable.

We live nearby and would recommend getting an Iced Coffee, BEC on a roll, and at least two donuts to start any roadtrip. Sitting down at the bar and grabbing a quick breakfast and coffee also works. This is an awesome blue collar diner. Be ready to order, be patient when regulars get favorable treatment. The best thing you can do is be polite and become a regular yourself!

WOW. WOW. WOW. This spot is on a recent list as one of the nation’a very best donut shops: Cheap! Like $ 1.20 for amazing raised sweet confection! It doesn’t look like much from the exterior view & the inside is humble too. But, oh these donuts! Amazing. I had the raised spider– it’s like a large cinnamon fritter — fried, slathered in sweet glaze, w cinnamon swirled into the tender airy buttery dough. Perfection. I also tried the raised coconut(they offer a cake donut w toasted coconut too) it was pleasant, airy, not too coconut-y(if that’s even possible). So many choices-like ½ the wall of the place is dedicated to the holy donut get it? ;) but there isn’t an actual donut menu. It’s old school in here but the donuts are rediculous. Very pleasant service. They serve full breakfast & lunch — diner style. Closed by 3:00. Decent coffee. CASHONLY!!! Tiny private parking.
