I stopped into the Sono Luncheonette to grab some breakfast to go. At 8:40AM there were no customers in the place. I was the only one besides what appeared to be the owner/manager and the cook. The place has been recently renovated from what had been a run down bar. It’s spacious, lots of tables around, what seems to be a full liquor bar near the front, and a more traditional diner style counter near the back in front of the kitchen. The décor is pretty basic and while it’s newly renovated, the choice of materials is a bit lacking for the area. I headed towards the back and was treated by the friendly owner/manager and gave him my order. I ordered an omelette, side of sausage and rye toast. He told me that they didn’t have rye bread, just white or whole wheat. Oh, well, I guess whole wheat it is. My breakfast was ready in about five minutes, I paid and left for my office. The quality of the food was as you would expect from a typical diner. Nothing exciting, a basic omelette, home fries and toast. The tiny plaza that the luncheonette is in is at one of the most awkward three way intersections in Norwalk. Getting into the parking lot can be a challenge and the other businesses typically have a high volume of people throughout the day.
