This restaurant could be under a bridge and I would still come here. And give them great reviews, because of how amazing the food is. The service is quick, friendly and efficient.

I would love to love this place, but I went there twice and it hasn’t changed. I found that the homefries were oversalted leaving you to down a glass of water. This morning I got the veggie skillet. It would’ve been great if the veggies were cooked, like I got a bunch of raw onion, not a flavor I want to taste first thing in the am. And they used fake cheese like nacho cheese or something like that. Service wasn’t great never offered a second cup of coffee and handed our check 2 minutes after we were given our food! Kind of all set!

Of all the breakfast places around, Murph’s is by far my tried-and-true favorite. Their pancakes(my menu item of choice) are delicious! Large in size, slightly sweet from the powdered sugar, and just delicious. Their menu features many stand-by breakfast classics(eggs/toast/meant combo plates, Benny’s, hot cereal, french toast, etc.) and their specials feature unique breakfast concoctions(crispy french toast, seasonal hashes, etc.). Although I haven’t eaten there for lunch, their menu looks like it covers all the bases(burgers, sandwiches, salads, soups). One star docked from their review because of their home fries. Now, I would say there is a lot of confusion in the breakfast world about hash browns vs home fries vs breakfast potatoes vs hash vs breakfast cubes etc. Personally, I prefer my home fries to be crispy and salty, essentially breakfast french fries that are good for the soul, if not for the waistline, but as far as I can tell the only breakfast potatoes they have at Murph’s are large chunks of skillet-browned potato. Any one find any crispy potatoes here? Overall I adore Murph’s. Their pancakes are divine. They make you feel at home. Do you like pancakes? Do you like hospitality? Of course you do! Then you would certainly like Murph’s Place!

I love Murph’s — my boyfriend and I are here at least once a week for breakfast. It’s yummy. The service is fast and the food is delicious. If you are looking for a good breakfast place, this is the real deal.

I’ve honestly never liked this place but I come because my boyfriend likes it. The service is mediocre and the food is less than. Today will be the last time, I ordered a salad because I figured«how can you screw up a salad?» Well they succeeded when they served me a half RAWCHICKEN breast the sortiest excuse for a Greek salad I’ve ever had, they don’t even serve it with a pita they serve it with a flour tortilla like just don’t serve it with anything. I should have known better when I saw they didn’t even have Caesar salad that they couldn’t make a salad. Everything here lacks flavor including their house balsamic vinaigrette. After being served undercooked chicken at this establishment I will never go back and I’ll make sure none of my friends do either they clearly don’t care very much about the good they’re serving or the guests they are serving it to!

I love Murph’s place like a camel loves hump day. If you want a mind blowing culinary experience, get the Steak Tip Benedict. Not for the faint of heart, but if you’re hungry then strap yourself in. The steak tips are heavily marinated in what I can only call gods elixir, and always a hefty portion atop your poached eggs and English muffins. Everything else on the menu is very good, but nothing approaches this delight. Go to Murph’s, like yesterday.

Horrible — rude — unprofessionalism at its finest. To ask for a grand total on the phone for a pick-up order(as we left work to pick up several orders) &THINK they put the phone down so their PAYINGCUSTOMERS cant hear the crap they are complaining about«its saturday morning — come on» etc etc … we are so sorry to have brought you business and you COMPLAIN about totalling an order so we are PREPARED when we arrive to PAY you. So sorry for putting YOU out. but you just lost the business from our entire workplace. Sorry not sorry, maybe you should treat your customers with respect and you wont lose them

Wanted to try something new for our usual Sunday Breakfast, so I jumped on Unilocal and found this place. I went with two other people. I had the Skins n’ Hash special. It was OK. The eggs were mediocre and had a partially melted slice of cheese on top. The hash came from a can, which is fine, but was a little dry. I would probably eat here again sometime because that have a large menu and some of the other plates leaving the kitchen looked pretty good. Also, the prices were good.

Nice place for breakfast. Friendly, fast service, and great variety on the menu. My favorite is any of the«Benny’s» . It is a clean, bright restaraunt. It has been a staple in Norwood for close to 20 years.

Place is always hopping on the weekends but you usually don’t have to wait for a table. Staff is very friendly and the food always hits the spot. The Irish Benny will happily require a nap on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Love the blueberry pancakes as well… light and fluffy. Definitely our go to breakfast spot.

Never disappoints. Service is great, the place is very clean, and the décor is cute and seasonal. It’s great for families. The specials are always fun and creative. I agree with the cash only thing being a drag, but everything else is a pleasure!

Great townie breakfast spot! Their hash meals are great, the hash skillet, hashlette(omelette) and Irish Benedict are all must tries. The place is cash only, and there is a liquor store in the same plaza, so just make sure you have a $ 20 bill for your meal! What puts this place at 4 stars? Honestly I have had better tasting breakfasts, but I sometimes just have to go to Murph’s. I feel that it is the place itself, the people, the reality that is the diner. It’s a «townie» spot — there are many definitions to what a «townie» is but I would say that this is a spot that everyone in the Norwood/Walpole area goes to, and simply fits in at. The food is solid, the coffee is hot, and it feels like always has been and always be there. 4 starts for the nostalgia that I just can’t put my finger on. Go here, you won’t regret it.

Very poor food, just bland and done without passion. The«omelet» I was served consisted of a layer of egg folded over the filling. Clearly the kitchen staff never got the memo on how to cook an omelet. My boyfriend’s eggs tasted like nothing, the home fries were too largely cut and poorly seasoned(tasted more like what you’d eat with a nice roast than with breakfast) and even the toast didn’t make him smile. One bright spot: the baked beans were well executed. The service left much to be desired. No host to greet and seat us, and we had to practically beg for Splenda. The waitress paid little attention, and I did notice her greeting the regulars much more warmly. I guess this *is* an insider spot. We are not coming back. Too bad, Norwood really could use a great breakfast place!!!

Murphy’s place I was in the Norwood area at the Norwood hospital. It’s Monday and the Town Square Diner is close, so I headed over the Murph’s Place for Breakfast. The first thing I noticed was a relative clean environment, but closer inspection shows the age of this well established breakfast location. The parking is ample, and it’s within walking distance of the hospital. There are 21 tabletops, four were occupied, a mixture of 2,4s with with an eight for larger groups. I decided to sit at the counter, 9 seats, 6 available at the time. I sat directly across from the large screen TV, playing a popular morning show. The waitress at the counter was friendly and handed me the menu as soon as I sat down. It should also be noted this is a CASH only establishment, just I case you missed that note. I also notice the waitress new the names of most of folks sitting at the counter, unusually a good sign. Looking through the menu, there is the typical breakfast/lunch offering, eggs, omelet’s, pancakes, waffles, as well as a «skillet» offering. The lunch side of the menu comprised, burgers, wraps, sandwiches and several specialties. I ordered a vegetable Skillet with two eggs over easy, and bottomless coffee. The coffee was poured almost as I ordered. The veggie Skillet arrived quickly, it was comprised of potato wedges and frozen vegetable, covered in an orange cheese sauce reminiscent of cheese from a can. The eggs were cooked as requested, but the vegetables in the Skillet were still cold. I asked to have the Skillet reheated. While I waited for the Skillet to return, I finished the eggs, as my coffee was quickly refilled. It was at this point a fly showed up, I need say no more on that subject, it happens. The Skillet return, extremely hot, unfortunately the increase in temperature did little to improve the flavor. I ate what I could, unfortunately the dish tasted freezer burnt. I was also forced to tent my plate with a napkin, to keep my unwanted visitor at bay. Needless to say, I didn’t eat much more. The bill arrived, 10 bucks plus tip. I cannot speak to the reset on the offering, just what I ordered, but overall, I would pass on Murph’s Place and head to the Town Diner. If it’s a Monday, keep strolling one block past Murph’s Place to the McD’s, yup just not that good.

We visited Murph’s Place on a Sunday morning after reading the reviews on Unilocal. We arrived shortly after 10am with a party of 4. The restaurant appeared busy but not slammed. We were seated and it took 10 minutes for the server to bring drinks. After we got drinks, we were ready to order, but the server took orders from other tables that were seated after us. Overall, service was horrible and many people besides us were waiting. Finally, we left after being completely frustrated(we never made an order) and went to Brookside Café just up the road, and had a wonderful breakfast. Will definitely avoid this place in the future.

I go here for the crispy french toast. Think your regular french toast coated in cornflakes flavored with vanilla, deep fried to perfection and served with a dusting of powdered sugar. YUM. The coffee’s not bad either… it’s bottomless, my only complaint is that the wait staff can be a bit over zealous re-filling my cup. I took just a few sips and she topped it off… I couldn’t even intervene because she was all stealth about it. I know that’s a silly gripe but I strive to achieve the perfect balance of milk & sweetness. The candy basket outside the door was extra full today, I snagged a butterscotch candy for later. I’m over the annoyance of cash-only… my crispy french toast is worth the trip to the ATM.
