Excellent food quality and service. They are usually easy to get seated, kind of difficult to find initially, however it is worth the trip every time. Highly recommended.

Very disappointed with the sushi here. I can’t say that anything we ordered was good, or fresh. The spicy tuna roll was some mixture that may not have even had any tuna in it. I ordered a more expensive sake on the menu, and I think they gave me the house sake. I asked about it and they insisted it was not. And the price was outrageous for mediocre at best food. Maybe their other food is better, but I don’t think I want to take the chance for the price.

The Korean BBQ was delicious. Sadly the Yook Hwe was frozen. It tasted ok but being frozen added a unpleasant texture.

I have been back here several times since my last review and sadly, the past visit left me with a sour taste in my mouth and walked out with flat wallet. A friend of mine was moving and a group of was restaurant hopping and this was our 3rd restaurant that we stopped in… We ordered the following: — samgyeopsal(black pig belly) — bossam — soju — Haemul Jeongul When I ordered the samgyeopsal, the waitress asked, how many orders… I said one… she gave me that wtf look… I was taken back by the look because this was our 3rd restaurant and we were there to enjoy different foods… Banchans — very lacking in flavors… I know banchans can get expensive as you restock them at the table, but kimchi, sour seaweed(very sour), bean sprouts, green bean and broccoli in a peanut sauce and mashed potato — they all lacked flavors on this visit. Samgyeopsal — one order. My experience with ordering samgyeopsal at other Korean places is as follows — you get about 3 long strips for each order… at Bi Bim Bap — you get 9 thinly sliced samgyeopsal that’s about 2 in by 1 in. As for the taste goes, I would never order this again, as the meat wasn’t good. I had many black pig samgyeopsal in Korea and the ones they served here tasted different. Soju — $ 15 per bottle — NOTWORTHIT! You can buy them at a local Korean grocery store for like $ 4(cheapest) and buy the samgyeopsal and grill it at home. Bossam — if you like dried out pork, then this dish is for you… the meat was tough to eat and i know they are premade, but the meat should have been cooked longer; needs to be softer then what they served. Haemul Jeongul — I’m a seafood junkie and was looking forward to this dish… when they brought it, the broth was half empty… it seemed they were cooking it in the back and by the time they brought it to our table, ½ of the broth was gone because it was on the stove too long… a respectable chef/cook would have never sent this out… they should have poured in more broth prior to sending it out… on top of that, because it was cooking for so long, some of the fish was tough to eat and the lobster was overcooked. Overall, this was the worst experience at Bi Bim Bap… I just hope this was one of those off days that I some how ended up there and had this bad experience… I’m not sure when I’ll be back since I’m not in the area often, but when I do and I stopped by I just hope experience at that time will be different.

Absolutely the BEST Korean beef in the area. Amazing! Sitting at the grill table is fun and entertaining when you are with great people because conversation flows easily over good food & when the meal prep is interactive it’s even better! This restaurant is a local dining staple! My one issue is while some servers are super friendly, we’ve had a couple who were the opposite.

This is our first time and we were not disappointed. One of the best if not the best Korean this side of Michigan. For beginners, I suggest you go with the barbecue if you don’t mind cooking your own food. It’s a culinary experience. Delve into the other menu items when you feel adventurous. Kudos to the owners! Keep it up!

Not worth the price. We’ve been coming here for years. We used to come 2 – 3 times a week. Now we come 2 – 3 times a year. Each time when we come back, we are disappointed with food and service. Portion is getting smaller and smaller too. BBQ pork belly(Samgyeopsals) is really bad. They keep changing the thickness of slice pork and nothing is working. Don’t waste money here. Go to tofu house in Farmington hills or Seoul garden in Ann Arbor.

So I read that BibimBab is one of 50 dishes that must be tried in a lifetime. Who am I to argue. And figure you can’t go wrong with a restaurant named after the dish. Well worth finding Started with a delicious Yangyum Tofu appetizer. Served with veggies and a little broth. Then on to the namesake dish with chicken. Very good and like that I can add my own sauce to just the right heat level. And enough sides to fill me up for a few days. Oh and green tea served in a tea pot. Not a tea bag in site A wee bit of a challenge to find in some sort of office building but do seek it out

As others had said, this is very hidden away. To get to it, you need to go to the far side of the downtown Novi building, go inside where the escalators are, walk in, down the hall, make the first right and you will see it. Once you have found it, you will be pleasantly surprised! They have a very clean restaurant with a modern atmosphere. They have a good appetizer menu with plenty to choose from as well as a wide variety of beer(bottled other than one Korean brand on tap) and spirits. The food is very fresh and they have a huge entrée menu with both Korean and Japanese. I had the Chicken Bibimbab. It was my first time ever trying Korean food, and I have to say, I am a big fan! It came with a generous portion with plenty of sides, and I was very full by the end. I added a side of Kimchi because I have always wanted to try it, but I must say, it just wasn’t for me. It has a very powerful flavor and is quite spicy. That being said, it was presented well and looked as I expected, so I believe my dislike of it was simply my own tastes and not at all the fault of the cooks. The place had plenty of customers but was well spaced out and never suffered from feeling too crowded, even though I went at the peak of lunchtime. As for the price, it was slightly higher than I had anticipated. Do not expect casual dining prices, as this place is slightly more upscale. For my entrée, spring roll and a pitcher of the Korean beer on tap my total came to $ 38.00. Still, I would very much recommend this place to anyone who likes authentic Korean or Japanese cuisine. I enjoyed myself and will certainly be back again to try some of the Korean BBQ!

Have to update my previous review. We came primarily for BBQ this time. The good: The quality of the meat is good. It tastes pretty good. The not so good: The service is definitely lackluster. We don’t really expect a hello or how are you or anything like that but what we do expect is timely refills of things like banchan and the lettuce for the meat. The prices are also pretty high for the relatively small portions you get– all the more reason you expect things to get refilled at a reasonable timeframe. Also, the top plate on the table was dirty and the waitress literally wiped it with her finger in front of me and put it on the table in front of me. As soon as she left, it was quickly replaced by one of the other plates on the table. Overall, while the quality of the meat is good and yes, the food tastes good, the service is pretty bad, the prices are pretty high, and the portions are pretty small. I’m not sure we’ll be back…

I always come here for the Korean bbq. Quality of meat is great but the serving size is so damn small. I’m used to getting twice the amount of food for the same price on the west coast. They can do whatever they want since there is no competition within a 30 mile radius. So we just have to suck it up and pay the money every time. :(

This place is a hidden treasure. I mean it when I say hidden too as it’s in the lower level of a mostly empty mall. The signage is poor and it’s on the back side of the building. BUT… it’s worth the hunt to find! I came here with colleagues recently while on a work trip after reading the Unilocal reviews, and it did not disappoint. 2 of my co-workers had never had Korean food and they loved it as well. The sushi was exceptional, as was the bi-bim-bap. The service was fantastic. I’ll definitely be back whenever work brings me to Novi!

Hidden in a large building in the corner, this Korean restaurant is very good! The inside is modern and we’ll decorated. The menu is big with various meat choices for BBQ and Japanese cuisine as well. The side dishes we got were delicious and the kimchee was very well fermented. We had the galbi and squid for BBQ. It’s not charcoal so you don’t leave smelling like smoke. The gas stove still cooks everything well and leaves the meat juicy. The galbi was sliced thinly buy marinated so well. It was so tender too. The squid was also marinated. I was a little nervous getting squid but it turned out very yummy. Next was the soondubu jigae(seafood tofu casserole). The broth was the best I’ve had in a long time. You can taste the anchovy-based broth and it wasn’t over powered by the spice. There were 3 Clams and some shrimp in it. Didn’t find a lot of octopus but it was ok cause the soup made up for it. The ban chan(side dishes) was not refilled but they don’t charge for rice here.

To sum up this restaurant in one sentence, it’s a delicious Korean restaurant with modern décor and decent service. We’ve been coming here on and off for the good part of the past decade, and while the shopping center that it’s located in has seen better days, we’ve continued to have pretty good meals here. Whenever we dine here, we tend to start out with some Korean BBQ(kalbi mostly) then order something else like bi bim bab, mool nengmyun, or soon tofu. My only issue with this restaurant is that the waitress is a bit too aggressive in their upsell, which really feels crass. For example, we can’t ever order regular kalbi without our waitress insisting that we splurge for the more expensive angus beef kalbi.

Went to try a new place and had this bookmarked. So glad we decided to try it out. I had the Hawaiian roll, seaweed salad, some edamame and the soup with broth, scallions and sprouts. Also the uju(sp?) ice cream– light and delightful lemon type. Every thing was fresh, tasty and delicious. My daughter ordered the Salsa roll(which she tried at Shiro) n Will be back and try the BBQ.

Went here with a monthly«Lunch Around the World» work bunch(6 others) to try a new cuisine. We think this place rated a solid 4 stars. Here’s why… I called a day ahead since we had a good sized group. The manager(Kay?) was super friendly on the phone and welcomed our reservation. The waitress was less friendly but plenty attentive. No one had the intestinal fortitude to try the barbecue but I had the chicken bibimbap. It was yummy. The egg on top looked perfect for mixing into the mound of rice and veggies and the stone bowl was very cool. Although truth be told, the barbecue sauce really made the dish complete. No watered down stuff… it was good and spicy. Oh yeah, I liked it all! The free cut strawberries with chocolate sauce was a hit with the gang and a tasty ending to a delicious lunch. The waitress gave us separate bills without a problem and was efficient in processing the card payments. I’ll be back to try the barbecue next time when I have more time to sit and enjoy it. To find it, look for the atrium, lower floor.

My family and I have been dining at Bi bim Bab since it opened. We have thoroughly enjoyed it many times. This is even my kids pick for their birthday meals on many occasions. The food is consistently tasty, fresh and seasoned very well. The service, for the most part, is also friendly and attentive. If I were to say anything negative, it would be that the prices have gone up and the portion sizes have gone down. I know that it is the sign of the times and they have to maintain competitiveness. But, to the experienced diner, it is noticeable. Even the size of the bowls used for udon, are noticeably small. I would like to have more decent-sized entrees as well. I still rate Bibimbab high because the food is good and it is a fun experience as well.

During lunch hours… BUSY!!! They don’t take reservation. THE popular restaurant in the building! The Service: Very attentive. Server took the order right away. Food is prepared promptly. Constantly come by to refill the hot tea. All the staffs are very friendly and courteous. Service is super efficient! No wonder the business is so good~ The Food: Haemul Jeongol — Shrimp, mussel, fish, scallop, clam, lobster tail and vegetables simmered in hot and spicy broth. $ 45.95 Might be pricey but definitely can feed 4 people easily!!! HUGEHOTPOT!!! Lots of seafood~ Perfect dish for cold weather! Bibimbab: a choice of A. Beef $ 12.95 B. Chicken $ 12.95 C. Vegetable Only $ 11.95 D. Seafood $ 14.95 E. Raw Beef $ 14.95 A little bit pricier than the price in LA but fresh ingredient and good flavor. During lunch hours, they also have lunch special, order 2 items for around $ 10. They also come with rice and Korean side dishes! Good deal~ At the end of the meal, they serve fresh apple with caramel sauce. A little sweetness to end the meal… and healthy too!
