I was really excited to get my free consultation at Ideal Image since I heard they used a Candela laser that is effective on all skin types. I’ve used the same Candela laser that Ideal Image uses at another med-spa, and decided to check them out to inquire about my maintenance needs. Upon entering Ideal Image, the place looks clean, professional, and inviting. I was welcomed with smiles and offered a beverage-nice touch! When I went into the office for my consultation, that’s when things took a turn for the worse. My main complaints for this business are as follows: 1. The consultation consisted of me filling out an application, giving me a price based on 9 sessions, showing me a laser machine, and letting me know about the hair growth cycle. All of this information could have been relayed over the internet and/or phone. Sine they claim this is a ‘medical procedure’ shouldn’t the consultation involve some sort of physical examination? Not here — just be ready to hear that«everyone needs 9 sessions» and«I can offer this [insert absurd amount here] price». It had to be one of the worst consultations(was more like an awful sales pitch) I’ve ever been to. We all know laser hair removal is an investment, but their prices are completely ridiculous. **When I had a consultation elsewhere, they assessed the areas, did a test patch, told you risks involved, and were up front and honest about results to expect** 2. The woman who conducted the ‘consultation’ was not even one of the nurse practitioners that«perform all of their laser hair removal procedures». When I started to ask her some technical questions, she didn’t have the answer and said the RN would have to answer that. Again, why isn’t the nurse giving the consultation?!? Would you have a consultation with the administrative assistant of a doctor before a procedure without actually meeting the doctor? My guess is no. 3. They claim that they are the only company that is FDA approved to use a specific Candela laser to give permanent results and cauterize the blood vessel. I’ve never heard of permanent anything when it comes to lasers. So I called to do my research. I called the Candela company, and their business reps affirmed that the lasers are only FDA approved at a 80% hair reduction rate, and have never heard about any type of cauterization of blood vessels. The amount of lies/inaccurate information that permeate this business are just through the roof. In addition to the above, they claimed they are always busy, but I could hear the crickets during my entire visit – I was the only client on a Friday late afternoon, early evening :-/. The desperation for any business was clear when they tried to reduce the price little by little and throw in $ 600 worth of ‘goodies’ if I signed today :-/ All in all, I left with a really sour taste in my mouth when leaving Ideal Image. Those who are new to laser hair removal I strongly advise you to seek out another/more reputable business. Check out some of the other Unilocal Reviews for their locations in other cities-a lot of them are pretty awful. I had a pretty similar experience to this Unilocaler: . Just a No all around!
