When our events got too big(500+ attendees) for any place in Royal Oak, the Post Novi took us in. With a capacity of over 900, we had room to grow… and we did. The Post was incredibly cool to work with. They took the influx of traffic in stride, and the staff couldn’t possibly have been more pleasant to work with. Dealing with sponsors wasn’t a problem. Dealing with 700+ people wasn’t a problem. Dealing with mixed groups wasn’t a problem.

Surprisingly fun, very cheap cover charge. Reasonable prices for everything. I ended up coming here after waiting in a really long line for 29 park and was glad I gave this place a chance. The music was better than I expected. They played a mix of lots of pop and hip hop songs and many mash ups. Some I hadn’t heard before. Overall the crowd was really fun. People just came to have a good time, no pretentiousness or anything. It’s certainly not the swankiest place inside but overall it was a lot of fun. I think there is something for everyone in here. There is a long bar area if you want to talk with some friends thats a little away from the music and then there is a relatively spacious dance area as well. If I wasn’t living in DC I’d definitely come back to this place.

Let me start off by saying that I have a love hate relationship with the post. Pros: They have fantastic drink specials!!! The drinks are normally strong and always decently priced, even when it is not happy hour. The food is decent. They have pool tables which is a plus for my boyfriend and I. Cons: The DJ plays horrible music and the T. Vs are very outdated. The service is a hit or miss. Honestly, I have had some of the worst service here! One particular waitress is always rude and has tried to rip us off a few times. My best advice is check your tab before you leave! If you are looking for a place to have a few cheap drinks maybe play a game of pool this is a great place.

Since I’ve spent the last 4 years in DC, I’ve really been trying to get a feel for the nightlife around the area, and am willing to go pretty much anywhere nearby. However, my friends have dragged me to this place on a Wednesday twice now, and I don’t really want to go back. Its like a high school homecoming except everyone is of age and there’s alcohol. If you like beer than the $ 1 domestics are great, but if not I advise you to stay at home and drink with your friends. Also, maybe they should try another DJ My 10 year old cousin has better music on her iPod..

Solid Daily Specials. The 10−9−8−7−6−5−4−3−2−1 idea was creative I thought. On a Saturday night we got ½ off app platters and $ 2.38 beers and shots… nothin’ wrong with that. Friendly service. Only stayed on the bar side. It looked like there was some loud music and a club type thing on the other side of the bar but I didn’t check it out. They need to step up their tv game. If you are still hanging 32in tube TVs you are way behind the times. Good luck getting a good crowd to watch a game. I think you could stream a clearer picture on an iPhone.

This used to be a happening place on Friday afternoons. The patio was full, the service was good, and the food was reasonably priced and good. We especially liked the wings. Lately the place seems to have lost its allure with the after work crowd. The service was terrible the last few times we were there. We actually walked out the last time after not being served for 20 minutes even though the place was nearly empty. Might be good for the late night crowd. We won’t be back.

I don’t go here often, but the bar isn’t that bad. You can get a good drink and have a fun time. I like to dance so when they have a good DJ I can get my groove on. I like to go on Thursday nights, it seems more like my crowd. Plus I try not to his the sauce before Thursdays! Haha The bar is pretty big and has a couple different seating options. I enjoy sitting in the high rounded boths. Kinda lets you look over everyone and admire the bar. The dance floor is pretty big too and the beats they play are all the billboard hits, which is okay by me. Never been to this place on the weekend, but I hear it is over crowded and not that many specials. So my suggestion would to be try it during the week night for a place to chill and get your drink on

I meet some friends here on Wednesdays occasionally to take advantage of the«Dollar Beer» special. We learned a valuable lesson this week: Although the beer is cold and cheap, don’t order a Dewar’s on the rocks… EIGHTBUCKS. I’ve been drinking Dewar’s for decades in some of the nicest cocktail lounges and some real dive bars. Rarely have I paid more than $ 6.00, most of the time it’s between $ 4.50 and $ 5.00. Shoulda drank eight more beers.

If I could give this negative stars I would. This bar reminds me of a teenage party in an unfinished basement. There are broken beer bottles on the windowsill and floors. Its shoulder to shoulder in there barely any room to even move. The beer is wayyyy over priced 4 bucks a beer ! ridiculous. There are many 21 – 25 year olds there that act like there 12 and the creepy 45 yr olds that hit on 21 yr olds creepy… I would rather go drink at home. The atmosphere is that of a creeepy basement.

For a bar. their menu is pretty damn extensive and the food is actually pretty damn good. Well, even for a restaurant, I’ll give them that. The service is a hit or miss depending on which server you get, as they are totally varied in expertise. Kelly, who has served us on more than numerous occasions has the sharpest memory and is the most prompt server I’ve ever had at a bar. And when she serves us, we’re usually in a group of 7 or more, so trust me, she’s excellent. The drinks are poured fairly well, I get nice and sloshed on double stolis when I’m there. Something to complain about — the patrons. I know it is not the establishments’ fault. And I understand I am one as well, lol. It’s just that everytime we go there on a fri or sat night, the selection of creepy men that we encounter. is beyond anything I’ve seen anywhere else. And this happens consistently everytime I go. Still, I usually have fun. Love the big space, and how there are two sections to wander back and forth from… I just remembered another complaint. I also just knocked off another star(I had 4, now its 4 – 1). Their fucking bathroom attendants. oh my fucking god, I know people need jobs but. if your bathroom attendant«staff» members are continually getting in fights with patrons, maybe its time to call it quits. They annoy the living shit out of me. I can get my own paper towel and open my own bathroom stall door, thanks. Get rid of this and the star goes back.

My friends and I took our friend out for her 21st Birthday to The Post as one of the stops. It is in «downtown Novi» area and is in an old grocery store and the outdoor patio is in an old greenhouse so it’s a cool place to hang out. We didn’t spend long here so I can only rate what I experienced: Good: — the outdoor patio — the drink selection — the service — the music — the food is good for a bar Defiantly one of the places to try in the area and a nice relaxing patio to hang with some friends!

What you need to know: –Some of the better drink prices in the Novi area. –Typical bar scene and gets fairly packed most weekend nights. –During the warmer nights of the year the outdoor patio is stellar. –Food tastes good when intoxicated, I can’t vouch for it otherwise. –Brings a younger crowd(21 – 30). My last experience at the Post: Halloween night ’08. As per usual I was dressed up in the most ridiculous costume I could think of(Macho Man Randy Savage). The night was epic, the drinks were flowing, and people were yelling«Snap into a Slim Jim» about every 10 steps I took. I ran into a few young gentlemen dressed as Jake the Snake Roberts, Brett the Hitman Hart, and The British Bulldog. We all got along wonderfully. The DJ let me yell«The macho man is in the house… oOooo yeah» into the microphone, which made me extremely happy. There were a lot of girls dressed very scandalous. If given the chance, I would come back to this bar for a night of Halloween festivities.

Interesting to find out that this place is still open — every time we drive by, it looks completely closed during what would seem to be peak times. The Post used to have the best Coney pizza but took off the menu. A decent but not great spot; agree that the service can suck.

Great place! Of the chain of Post Bars in the metro area, this one is my favorite. It has the best scenery, but not always the best service. they are usually packed. the outdoor patio(in an old greenhouse) is awesome, even in the middle of summer. prices are good. food selection is fair. 5 stars overall.
