Where do I begin? I came here with my wife to try this place out over the summer when it first opened. Ahh… Let me just make a list to make it easy for all of us! 1) Small Menu 2) A bit overpriced at first thought but was willing to give the food a chance till I measured the value. 3) Very small inside, like 3 – 4 tables but they had a table outside so we sat there. 4) My Gyro was lacking in size and the pita was dry and hard. The meat went through the bottom of the dry pita and it was revealged that the meat wasstacked on top of the lettuce and tomato to make it look like there was a lot of meat in it. 5) Wife’s soup was warm not hot and the as advertised«adouille sausage» in one of the soups was really just cut up hot dog. 6) Now I can say very overpriced! For the two of us it was over $ 20 for a gyro, panini and soup«lunch special» and two drinks. 7) There is nothing gourmet about this place except the price. 8) I have not tried this owners Fresh restaurant up the street but now I l don’t even want to. I usually do not like giving 1 and 2 star reviews but In food, if you are let down in more than one way… something has to be done to better the situation. Unilocal is that avenue here for me. Great concept and a lot of locals checked it out and go there, but I was very dissappointed and will not go back.

I have been here a few times since they opened. The panini’s are very good. The French is my favorite. They cost $ 10 each but are definitely worth it. The panini’s are HUGE. You are really getting 2 meals with 1 of them. I buy one and share with another person. The staff are polite and friendly. The girl who is usually there is always smiling and extremely patient with me when I ask her questions about all the different pannini’s and soups!

I have always wanted to try Alains French Bistro, but haven’t had the chance yet… I now feel very compelled for my next dinner out to be there after the great meal I had from Alains Express! Had the French Panini and the the Fresh Cut Fries. What was great is that they waited to flash fry these when I arrived to pick up my food so they were hot and crispy. They were quite nice and seemed to have many specials on the wall. I’m hoping in the future there will have an online or facebook style update so you can be aware of the daily specials. They also sell«to-go» meals that are from the full restaurant up the block. Great idea if you don’t feel like cooking! I’m excited to have a new place to get top quality food that is quick, easy and most importantly –affordable! I’ll be back for sure.

I went here for the first time about a week after they opened, for their gyros. I was not impressed. The kids behind the counter were sadly unprofessional and despite being empty, the food took over ten minutes to be ready. My gyro was served on some sort of wrap instead of in a pita, with hardly any meat and a painfully cold abundance of lettuce and raw onion. I went here for the second time about a week after that to try one of their humongous panini sandwiches, which despite being made and displayed already, and despite the store again being empty, took about ten minutes to heat. ‘Express’, this is not. I ordered the French panini(ham, swiss, gruyère, and harissa, I think), which, while decent, wasn’t worth ten dollars and ten minutes. Also, the waitstaff were too engrossed in flirting with one another to pay much attention to my friends or myself, which is never appropriate. Bottom line: If you’re looking for overpriced sandwiches and crappy gyros in an atmosphere fraught with teenage sexual tension, look no further. Otherwise steer clear. By the way, they’re cash only.

I’ve heard wonderful things about Alain’s French Bistro, but have never had the chance to stop by. When I saw that he was opening up a small lunch shop in town, I was looking forward to stopping by. I was truly not let down at all. Small, quaint little shop. They sell soups, panninis and salads. Picked up a Cuban and a French Pannini to go, as well as a Potato and Yellow Tomato soup. Sandwiches were fresh and flavorful. Soups were just what I wanted for the day and am looking foward to try more over the next few weeks. I truly hope the best for this location and promise to be a frequent customer in the future. You are doing yourself a disservice if you fail to give them a chance. I know that i’ll be back
