Went last night for a late dinner & a couple drinks. We sat at the bar and got to meet the bartender Lenny. He was great. The menu is typical pub food and there is pretty wide selection to choose from. The place is dimly lit and quiet but they do have a jukebox so you can play whatever you want to hear. Nice spot to have a drink & grab a quick bite…

The best wings ever! Fast, friendly service… Fish and Chips yummy… Chicken mushroom pot pie was full of goodness. Their burgers are really delicious, too. A great, local Irish meal every time.

The food wasnt bad. The wings and onion rings were good. The burgers were average, nothing to leave home for. My biggest issue was the waitress. Whatever her issue was it didn’t start today. She was nasty and condescending for no reason. They should really look into hiring new waite staff because this isn’t the first complaint that I see about the waite staff on here.

OVI is one of my favorite spots in Nyack. I have a lot of fond memories of pizza, wings, and cider here late nights. So now when I am in town, I try to make it a point to stop in at least once and grab some pub food. The place is dark and full of wood accents. The entrance is a long bar and some small high top tables along the opposite wall. Toward the back it opens up a little with some booths and tables for food service. I typically get the same things on rotation The wings The chicken tenders The pizza The Irish nachos The mozzarella sticks. I recommend them all. Any one(or 3) of those and a pint(or 3) really hits the spot for some pub grub.

I love this place! It’s an old school bar that could use a facelift. It’s fun, but definitely a little dingy.

It’s a spot for Regulars; they pretty much don’t care for others. You walk in, and the entire bar of patrons and staff alike, just look at you awkwardly as you’re not ‘one of them’. It’s ok, I haven’t decided to throw in the towel and drink at 2p… Some local acquaintances in town recommended their buffalo wings. They must have been high. I tried their wings twice– as my bf owns shop across the street and I enjoy eating out of boredom, different sauces both times– Not impressed. Overly dry and too battered. Subpar bar food with city prices. Get a reality check. Go to Prohibition River– get their pastrami wings served with a much better attitude, seated in a much cleaner atmosphere, and with a new school vibe.

What’s good about Olde Village Inne. The location right downtown is hard to beat. The fire-engine red exterior is easy to spot and kind of cool, perhaps it’s an homage to the proud firehouses of Nyack. Or maybe it has something to do with Ireland and I just showed how ignorant I am. Inside, the dark wood and low lighting give Olde Village Inne an appropriately subdued atmosphere for an Irish pub. Speaking of it being an Irish pub: it’s owned and staffed almost entirely by friendly folks who speak with an obvious Irish accent, or in the case of one bartender, a New Zealand accent.(I say *almost* entirely staffed by friendly folks, for reasons that I explain more fully, below.) So, it’s got the authenticity factor down cold. Also, this place is not a bad spot to hunker down on a cold night. No drafts in there. The food is predictable but solid. I’m not much of a fan of shepherd’s pie in general, so I usually opt for the chicken pot pie or the penne a la vodka. The fish and chips is basic. I give all these dishes 3 to 3.5 stars. If huge portion size is your thing, you might see these dishes as 3.5 to 4-star worthy, since they are huge though a bit pricey to match. The liquor selection is basic, as is the beer selection. If there’s a new Guinness product(Guinness Blonde, for example), this place will probably have it. I’m used to bigger beer selections, though. There are probably 6 beers on tap at a given time and a limited bottle selection. As you can see, at this point in the review, it sounds like I’d be inclined to give Olde Village Inne 3 solid stars. But, here’s the sticking point and why I give it 2 stars. This may not be a problem others run into, but there’s a chance you’ll run into some rudeness, so I’m sharing my story. I inherited this place, so to speak, when I started dating my girlfriend(now fiancé). It was one of her favorite bars in town. Unfortunately, on my first visit there several years ago now, I was not feeling well and so was teetotaling for the night. We were sitting at the bar, and the bar tender seemed extremely put off that I(a) was not drinking and(b) asked for refills on my water. There was also some issue with my food or maybe I needed silverware and had to ask, I honestly cannot remember. But apparently all this made me persona non grata(that’s Latin for«he’s the bugger who’s not drinking in a bar and asks for silverware to eat his dinner»). The bar tender ignored me. Then ignored me some more. Then smiled as he got my girlfriend her drinks. Then ignored me some more. You get the picture. It was some weird snubbing /shunning thing that never got resolved. So, we generally avoid the place and/or sit at a table(i.e., not the bar).

Good food, good beer, good service. The food is better then you would expect for a seemingly hole in the wall spot, but I’ve enjoyed the multiple menu items I’ve tried! And a great beer selection is always a plus

Yummy food. Slow service. They have a kid menu and high chairs but be prepared to occupy your little ones while they wait for food. Food is very much worth the wait. I ordered the beef stew which was very good. Our kids shared a personal pizza which was very tasty and well cooked. Others in the party tried the sausage roll special which was awesome! No other way to describe it except light, fluffy sausage filling in a puff pastry roll. Fries are delicious too. Be sure to try the Irish brown sauce instead of the usual ketchup. Really tangy and tasty.

Great place to have a drink with the locals and avoid the out-of-towner douchebags that frequent the rest of Main Street. LOVE that they offer a full menu until late! Great vege quesadillas.

This place has a chill and relaxed vibe to it. The music is good. The service is great. The food is amazing. I had the mozzarella sticks for an appetizer and shared a chicken pot pie. The mozzarella sticks were so fresh! The chicken pot pie is phenomenal. It’s not too creamy, the amount of chicken outweighs the veggies. It’s so good! If you’ve never been here, order those two things!

Oh, OVI… where do I begin? I’ve been a loyal OVI patron for about 15 years. I am embarrassed to admit that with the money I’ve spent here I would probably have a down payment on a house. But I digress. So let’s see: they pour a great Guinness, great bartenders, great food and the kitchen is open until 3am, 7 days a week. I’ve had almost everything on the menu and it’s all good. My faves are the potato skins, chicken fingers, chicken pot pie, pizza, Irish nachos. I could go on. Tip the bartenders well and there will be plenty of buy backs.

Went for happy hour on a Wednesday, we had a great time, two for one drinks and the bartender brought us free wings, skins and fries. She was awesome!

The food at OVI is great. The specials are always good, and the prices are reasonable. I’m particularly fond of the Chicken Pot Pie and the Chicken Wings. These, arguably, are the best chicken wings in Rockland. They’re plump, meaty, fresh, and juicy. Can’t find better wings anywhere around. The service is very friendly and the vibe is comfortable.

Had a bad experience on my first initial visit. Service was terrible, we were seated in the back and had to constantly flag down the waitress for refills, place and order, etc. very slow. There were more than half of food left from the appetizer when the waitress grabbed it without asking if we were finished. I’ve gone back a few times for to go orders merely because their Irish nachos is out of this world ! Irish nachos = French fries drenched in cheese, scallions, bacon, sour cream … Definitely worth trying ! Don’t expect great service here however, especially if you are sober.

OVI is perfect for the following: An afternoon burger and beer(or several) at the bar. Great burger. Great beer options on tap. Great service at the bar. Two things to know: 1 — If you follow this advice, you’ll be surrounded by «regulars», some sans teeth 2 — If you order a mixed drink, expect a heavy pour Overall a really solid option in Nyack… there’s nothing else like it.

Although my experiences in the town might be considered somewhat limited, this dark, narrow Irish Pub is my favorite of the Bars I have been to In Nyack. The place is very legit, perfectly captures exactly what an authentic Irish Pub is all about in spirit, and you hear the right type of accents behind the bar and very often in front of it, owing to the large native born Irish population in Rockland County. The beer selection is decent, most importantly they pour a damn good Guiness, and the food is actually good. Both the chicken pot pie and Shepard’s were tasty and hearty. On my last visit a friend and I were super lucky and stumbled in during the exceptional happy hour. Not only were all of our drinks two for one but out of nowhere we were presented with a delightful sampler of their appetizers, which were all very tasty, particularly the wings.
