A’mis

Despite the wonderful aroma that greeted us, the food was less than stellar. The STL style pizza was… just OK. It was a little bland – almost like the sauce needed salt. I had the roast beef au jus, and news flash – it looks NOTHING like the picture on the menu (which looked like a pressed flatbread, delicious thick beef, melted cheese) but I got a hoagie with dry Steak-​ums. The waiter was nice enough, but smelled like smoke.

The food is always good but the service 95% of the time is horrible. I have to put that on who is running the place because the waiter and waitress are running their butts off. Saturday night and only two actual servers. We have eaten there several times and it’s always like that whether they’re busy or not. Such a shame because the food is great. A on the food but D on the service. Unless you have a lot of time to spare go somewhere else.

Food was fine. Conversely it took over 45 min and though it was a Friday night it was after 7pm when ordered AND less than .2 miles away (not a typo .2)
In addition they did not bring the correct dressing and charged for the change.
They also didn’t bring plasticware or napkins — NOTE if you are delivering to a hotel which it stated on the delivery notes they probably don’t pack forks from home …

We went on a Saturday night. The service was excellent. Staff was very attentive. The salad that came with the meal was huge!.. A+ for that. I ordered the veal parmigian with spaghetti. The meal was way too much food for anyone person. I wish they would have offered a half order. The spaghetti sauce was VERY sweet, almost like Spaghettios. I would come here again, but would not order anything that had red sauce.

I had dinner here recently on a Thursday night. As with the other A’mis location I stuck with the pizza and salad which are both delicious! I love the salad dressing on the Combination salad which is what I got. I shared a pizza that had pineapple and jalapeño. I love their thin crust pizza. This was my second time at this O’Fallon location and it’s every bit as good as the Rock Hill location. It’s good to know you can get a decent meal way out there!

We wasted $ 35 tonight. When the order was placed, I was told it would be 45 minutes to an hour for delivery. Sure thing, no problem… until we had to wait NINETY minutes for our order. The delivery driver told us we are in their extended delivery area and it takes longer. WHAT!!! Why weren’t we told that on the phone?
Now on to the food. After waiting 90 minutes for our order, it was wrong — yes, wrong. When we called A’mis to let them know of the issue, the young girl on the phone argued and said we received the right order. Then she said she would get her manager. The manager didn’t come to the phone, but the young girl came back to the phone and again got snippy and said we received the right order. Ummmm, NO WE DID NOT. I’m quite certain another delivery customer received part of our order. Not only was one item wrong, the other dish had next to no sauce and tasted like watered down noodles. Blech.
The only reason I gave two stars is because of the salad and salad dresing. We’ve been a custmer of A’mis for quite some time, but tonight was our first delivery experience. After the terrible service we received tonight, it’s a guarantee we will not be back.

2^nd time. Even worse. Simple order. Take out. Salad. Baked potato. Steak. I stood at the bar waiting for the food I ordered online for 45 minutes. No one acknowledged me or asked me if I wanted a drink while I waited. The food finally came out. All cold. Steak flavorless. No butter for potato. Just disappointing all around. Too many good restaurants around to give them a third try.

Ate at Ami’s last night. While the service was a bit slow, the food was outstanding. The salad was fresh and the dressing was homemade and to die for. We had the Italian dressing which was anchovy based and delicious. My wife was putting it on the chicken parm appetizer! The new chicken alfredo pizza was very good! Enjoyed the meal and will enjoy the pizza a second time tonight!

We’ve usually been happy with our food from Amis but last night we were very disappointed in the service. I called in and ordered a thick crust sausage pizza and some sides. When she read the order back she said NY style pizza and I questioned if that was really the thick crust. She said yes, it is their thicker crust. My husband went to pick it up and it turns out they have a deep dish, which is what we actually wanted, that the girl on the phone never mentioned. So yes, part of this was my fault because I didn’t have the correct terminology down but it was clear on the phone that I was unsure that the NY style pizza was correct yet she made no effort to inform me of the other choices. Honestly, I’ve lived in NY and I would never call a pizza there thick crust. I guess if you are comparing it to St. Louis style then yes, it’s thicker.
It was disappointing nonetheless and Amis did nothing to try and correct the situation nor did anyone apologize. We ended up buying the wrong style pizza and we liked it okay.

1^st time at A’mis Ofallon, service was spot on very attentive Sharon was our server. I had Manicotti, salad and garlic cheese bread, Manicotti sauce delish, salad dressing remarkable and bread was ok to cheat for. My husband recommends the Steak Fixman savory and tender. Overall A++. Will be coming back to sample the rest.

The NY style pizza is great! We also love the roast beef sandwich with provel and gravy. Service is good, very friendly people.

Two star Italian. Place was crowded but service seemed rushed. The spaghetti was over cooked and mushy. If you can’t cook pasta properly, well…

I got a Groupon for this place and they didn’t honor it. I called in a head of time to make sure things were good to go and got a verbal YES!
I show up around 3:15 for lunch. Dinner doesn’t start until 4:00pm. I have plenty of time to order eat and use the Groupon. I follow the terms and conditions so there shouldn’t be an issue right? Wrong, they wouldn’t take it. They at first told me it is only valid for lunch on Saturdays. Then they tell me it isn’t valid on Saturdays. I pull up the terms and conditions and prove them wrong. Then they change their story and say it is valid but has to be paid before 4pm. It was 3:52pm so I should be fine. The server waited until 4:01 then said sorry it’s past 4:00pm and we can’t take it. I just couldn’t resist, I had to laugh. I ordered a cold beer along with they NY style pizza and a said. The salad consisted of old lettuce and canned black olives with some nasty vomit looking Italian dressing. The pizza had canned sauce and terrible crust. It was pathetic at best. The beer was okay, it wasn’t very cold which is fine but when you add everything that happened to the equation this place was a nightmare at best. Now I know where there other location closed and why this place is slowly dying out. I will never return here unless… I wanted to drink warm beer, wanted the worlds worst lying service or if I just wanted to feel sick to my stomach with terrible food!

Simply delicious! Their lunch combos are huge and very, reasonably priced. It’s a great place to try something different on the menu each time you visit.

We usually stick with the Rock Hill location because it’s tried and true, but after speaking with the owner we decided to try the O’Fallon location. That was a great idea. This was delicious.
We had a pizza, which was perfectly cooked and wonderful. We also had salads and cheesy garlic bread. All was wonderful and the staff was amazing. Thanks again for such a great dinner!

I am a pizza snob and I simply love their New York style and salad. A++ I love that I can go in during lunch and order the special which is a gigantic piece of pizza, topped how I want it, and a salad for 6.95. The daytime service staff are friendly and fast. Trust me, you will not be disappointed!

Had the St Louis style pizza… was pretty good.
The restaurant was mostly full which provided a nice atmosphere and the service was good.
we plan on going back, next time I will have to try an entrée.

The first time I went to this place it was so, so good! Everything was top-​notch, yet the second time was a different story. My family usually just order our pizzas to go to eat at home so I can’t say about the service or other food. Our pizza this second time was so, so burnt. It was barely enjoyable. Also while I was eating it, I found hair in the middle of the pizza! I hate giving low ratings, but A’Mis needs to step up their game!

We had dinner at A’Mis several months ago and were pretty disappointed, given all the 4 and 5 star reviews. Tonight we were back in the area and decided to give this place another try. We are so glad that we did! Our server, Clayton, was wonderful. He was attentive, respectful, and made good suggestions. Though young, it is clear that he already realizes little things go a long way (2 plates to split the salad — without being asked, offering to refill the bread basket, etc). We had the A’Mis Big Salad, which reminded me of how Antipasto is served in my hometown in Western NY. Lots of salami, ham, cheese, olive, and peppers. We had to ask what was in the salad as the menu does not describe them. I hesitated when told that most of the salads were made with iceberg lettuce but Clayton immediately let me know that they’d be happy to make any of the salads with Romaine — by far my preference.
My husband and I split a medium NY style pizza. We noted that green olives were not offered, and again, our server said that they did have them. Did I mention great service? I’m not kidding. They really go out of their way to make you happy. Our pizza arrived hot, cooked perfectly (not undercooked like so many places), and very tasty.
This place has moved up from «probably not going back» to what I believe will be a regular stop. On our way out, we stopped to compliment the owner and he explained that he had decided to close the other location and focus on this one (Monticello). Good call. The attention shows. Oh, and the newly remodeled ladies room is very nice.

Sean suggested A’Mis (pronounced «ah-​mees») since he’d heard it was good and he also knows the owner because the owner is a frequent poker player…
I was surprised at how good this place was! I don’t know why I expected it to be bad, but after trying a different pizza place that my boyfriend suggested, I wasn’t so impressed. So I guess I was a little skeptical.
I typically either love or hate STL style pizza depending on who makes it… and I am not really super keen on provel either unless it’s on a pizza… and even then, sometimes it’s too gross for me. I can’t do IMO’s, for instance. It’s just wayyyy too effing salty and gross. But this place had really good pizza.
We tried both the NY style and the STL style. I was thinking I’d prefer NY style but the STL style was WAY better. I think next time I’d just get a plain STL style. Mmm. Might have to get pizza for dinner now, it was so good. They had Blue Moon beer too which goes really good with pizza in my world. Great service too from a really young kid as our server.
Only downside was that the pizzas were DROWNING in oil. So I fixed that by blotting with napkins but we went through napkins at an alarming rate so next time I’d ask for a ton. Or bring some shop towels, rofl.
