T.Arcobasso’s Italian Ristorante

I am a veteran of the Arcobasso family of restaurants and can say that I have never had a bad experience until tonight. Nice place and a friendly atmosphere but the food took forever and an extremely rude manager on top of it. Once told that we would not be back it became very defensive and rude. We did not ask for a discount or to comp us anything. This is extremely unfortunate as I was looking forward to finding an establishment to visit often.

I have read some of the reviews about this place. yes every restaurant ANYWHERE has a bad day here and there. but to say the food here is NOT good is insane… I CRAVE their salads and their meat sauce which melts in your mouth… their food is amazing. so for all you critics try moving to California where we have the beach and awesome weather year round. and the WORST Italian food !!! You will appreciate what you have with Arcobassos. they even put THE HILL to shame.

We went there for supper, first time visit. Had always heard good things, and finally got around to trying them. Nice visit. Atmosphere is what we expected; a bar-​restaurant in a strip mall. Not a destination restaurant, but a nice neighborhood place. Food was very good. A friend had recommended the house dressing on the salad, which was quite good. Anchovy based, and since I am an anchovy fan, I ordered per the menu, some extra anchovy. They added a small cup of three anchovy filets on the side of the salad. They were good, but $ 1.95 for three anchovy filets? A little rich;when the bill came, I felt ripped off. The salad itself was fresh greens, a couple olives, a bit of provel, some red onion, and a cherry tomato. Pretty standard, but well executed. Besides the anchovy price, it would be nice to toss the salads in the kitchen with the dressing, instead of expecting the diner to do it. Minor point, I guess.
We both ordered pasta. My wife’s pasta con broccoli was enjoyable, Well executed. I had spaghetti with meatballs and meat sauce. Yep, I like red sauce. Excellent red sauce, lots of well seasoned chunks of beef, plus a couple mushroom slices. Very flavorful meatballs. The dish was as good or better than what you get on the Hill.
Both pastas were about $ 13.95, but that included the salad and bread. Good value.
Service was fine. Friendly and efficient. We will be back!

Bad experience and over priced. The soup was cold, didn’t have what was ordered… was told no longer on the menu, so alternative Steak was recommended which was horrible, the pasta was a lot of noodles very little of anything else. Meal came out in rounds steak then 10 min later broccoli. The red wine selection was all very sweet and fruity. I would nor recommend.

We have been going to Arcabassos since the 80’s when Tom had his place in Ferguson. Missed them when they moved to St Charles.
Was so glad when I moved to Weldon Spring to see that Toni opened on Wolfrum.
The house salad is the best! The pasta is the greatest!
Out of 100’s of meals I only had 2 that were not up to par. The good meals far outweighs the two that weren’t so good.
The people that gave bad reviews either had a very rare experience Or they were not going to be haPPy no matter what.
I highly recommend Arcabassos and will be going back.
Looking forward to my left overs which usually give me one or two more meals.
This actually cuts the price in half or less!

Just okay. My lasagna was decent but husband’s chicken parmesan had funny tasting sauce. Was surprised to see that the bread was simply square pieces of bread from a loaf warmed up. We had been wanting to try it since it’s a convenient location for us… now we have been there and done that. There are better Italian places in the area.

I have tried the restaurant twice. The wait staff is always friendly and the atmosphere is good. The food however, is average or less than. I got the house salad and the dressing is made with a lot of flower — making a paste like substance instead of liquid. The Alfredo sauce is good but very rich and thick making it difficult to feel like you are eating pasta and not just cheese.

Absolutely fabulous place. Friendly staff. Great food. Reasonably priced and a good local spot too. The new blonde bartender is pretty hot too on Friday nights

One star for allowing us to keep table for 10 as we were running late because of Mother’s Day Painting with a Twist.
Should have left when had to wait for clean water glasses and appetizer was served after soups and salads.
Food took over an hour to be served. Other tables were served before us, even though they were seated later.
Lots of apologies from waitress. Unfortunately the food isn’t that good either. No manager/​owner seemed to care. Had to pay the 18% gratuity with group.
Luckily we were having such a great day, even this couldn’t ruin it.

Outstanding food and service. Super pleased with that. Prices are incredibly high, so I wouldn’t come here on a regular basis, but I would definitely come again on special occasions. Absolutely fabulous! Toasted ravioli was excellent!

First off this place is awesome. Great staff and owner on site walking around. Very family friendly. The food here was out of sight. Their home made salad dressing is amazing. And the lag asana was out of this world. A perfect balance of cheese and meat and not greasy at all. If I lived in the area I would eat here at least once a week.
And the prices are very affordable dinner for 3 was under $ 60.00… So lastly if your in the area swing bye and eat here. You won’t be disappointed!

If you like provel, this is your place. Might as well just cover everything in Velveeta. #disgusting

Food was good and service was even better. We had a young lady that just got engaged and she was very nice and friendly.
While, I did not like the chicken drummies, my pizza and the Chix parmigiana was off the chain. Salad was good too. I would go back because the overall experience was good.

Other than reviewed here, didn’t care for the house salad, kinda gritty and thick to spread around. The baked spaghetti and meat ball was very good, great red sauce. Service was a little lacking with waiting, table clean off, etc. Chocolate cake was disappointing, tasted stale.

Our family has been going to Arcobasso’s for over 10 years — consistently great service and food. I’m always craving their house salad and tortellini with white sauce. Delicious! Love the owners and family.

This was our first time having dinner at this location. Actually the last time we had dinner at the restaurant it was the location off Hemsath Rd and hwy 94, yes iOS been a long time!!! My husband and I both loved the salad dressing but we do not remember much about the other parts of the meal.
This evening we arrived just before the dinner crowd about 5:30. We ordered a few drinks and put our order in with the waitress shortly afterwards. As we were spending time chatting with friends of our whom suggested this restaurant… I began to notice that other tables were getting the meals (not just salads but meals as we were just getting our salads. As time passed we began to wonder if out order was placed by the waitress. The waitress came by and we ordered another beverage for my husband and me — the waitress brought all of us a beverages– the couple with us had not ordered another one, when they shared that with the waitress she suggested that they just split the beverage (THEY DID NOT NEED OR WANT ONE) both had full drinks but hey they agreed to «share» the drink.
Food was awesome and we will go again– sitting in a different section next time!

Hidden corner teasure for Italian food lovers. Start with the thick garlic cheese bread and a house made sangria. The owner is always there making sure everyone is getting great service. Their house dressing is another reason to go. I went to a original location in North County 25 years ago and so happy to see this one in St Charles.

Visit: Late Mothers Day Dinner
Atmosphere: Decent family environment minus the smoking allowed in the bar which is a part of the main dining room. The ventilation system seems to work, somewhat well, but you can still smell at your table and we were on the far wall away from the bar.
Service:
Waiter was not friendly nor helpful when asked for a recommendation. Hostess and or owner dropped off the food, waiter finished off dropping off the last dish. We didn’t see him until he came to clear the plates. One dish wasn’t even touched more than a bite because it was terrible and he didn’t ask if anything was wrong with it. Upon requesting straws earlier, the waiter dropped unwrapped straws onto the table with his bare hands. Pretty gross.
Food:
Salad– Meals came with house salads. Ordered house dressing which was a little scary at first because it was clumpy, but once mixed, the creamy Italian was good and the salad was the high point of the night.
Entrees–
1) Chicken Marsala-​Chicken was cooked well. Sauce was decent but was practically flowing off the plate and was enough for three entrees. The mushrooms were literally raw which ruined the dish and I don’t quite understand green peppers and red onions in Marsala, but this seems to be a mid-​west thing. The dish has potential, but it sounded like it was new to the menu and I think they have some work to do.
2)Chicken Fettuccine– Terrible! It tasted like gloppy macaroni and cheese. Super rich but not in a good way.
3)Basic Spaghetti with red sauce-​Awful red sauce. Terrible! It was a sweet sauce which I normally enjoy, but this tasted like sauce right out of a can with little doctoring other than possibly added sugar. My red sauce is ten times better and I’m not even Italian.
The bill was $ 50 which I would expect for three entrees at at decent Italian restaurant, however, based upon this experience, T. Arcobasso’s does not qualify in my book and I don’t think I’ll be going back for another go.

T. Arcobasso’s is a solid italian restaurant. We were seated quickly by the hostess and our drink order was taken immediately. Our waters stayed full about 90% of the time. My only service complaint is tht our waitress was very short. She didn’t offer specials or say anything really other than, do you want an appetizer, and can I take your order.
I had the Filet Concetta which was an 8 oz filet with cheese, mushrooms, a lemon butter sauce, and a garnish of a lemon slice and rosemary. The flavors were good but I ordered it medium and there wasn’t too much pink left. Would have liked a bit more. It was served with a choice of side (pasta with red sauce for me) and a salad. Their salads are awesome and have mixed greens, provel cheese, tomato, olives (black and green), a pepper, onions, and the BEST house dressing. They also have the softest sliced bread. It’s really good!
My husband had gluten free pasta (penne noodles) with the meat sauce and a salad and really enjoyed both. My sister enjoyed the Pasta Julia which is a seafood pasta including shrimp and scallops. She mentioned the scallops being very good more than once.
We’ll certainly be back again and again. Always a very good meal!
