Hands down, THEE best popcorn EVER. Regal never fails with their customer service and it’s never crowded so you’re always set to see whatever movie you want to see! The only issue for me was the bathroom stalls weren’t clean… none of them. The other day when I came, I also had a bad experience of boredom but that was only because I watched Spectre which to me was a yawner. Theatres are ALWAYS clean though! I will always come back for more!

So I previously reviewed this place and I had always liked it just fine until maybe a year or so ago. First, they started tinkering with the temperature. The rule when you go to the movies is that it should be comfortable leaning towards cooler. Suddenly, this place is often uncomfortable leaning towards extremely warm. It feels like a cutting the corners on expenses which leads to my second point. It has gotten ridiculously expensive to see a movie here. About a month ago, my wife and I show up for a 5:15 p.m. show. It was $ 12 a ticket, so $ 24. For a matinée. Yeah, that’s too much. I’ve noticed for a while that I liked this place apparently more than others. It’s not usually very crowded. But now I’m paying for that. Guess what? The Galaxy ten minutes east charges $ 4.50 for many of the movies I want to see. Yes, $ 4.50 per ticket. Prediction: Between the ticket price gouging and a new theatre in Wentzville opening soon, this place goes under within a year. Hope not, but I think the writing is on the wall.

Okay… It is expensive to see a movie at the theater. Ticket price was $ 8 and a large popcorn and soda was $ 15 and change! I almost choked. One problem I have with this theater is that at every turn they asked for more money! When I bought the ticket there was«Would you like to donate a dollar for???» Just the ticket please! Then at the concession stand, after paying over $ 15 for a popcorn and soda… «Would you like to donate your change(74 cents) to???» Just the popcorn and soda please! Then there is the movie. Well, the movie was good; but I had to sit through 25 minutes of commercials first! The most I’ve ever sat through before(at other theaters) was 13 minutes. That is just entirely too long of a commercial period. I will be finding a different theater to visit. This one is just best avoided.

This is one of my favorite places to go to for a movie. I personally love it. Even after the theater was bought by a different company, it is still cheaper than some of the other big names in the area. They always have staff ready to help you. I have usually gone on nights that aren’t super busy. When they are busy though they seem to move along as quickly as the machine would let them. The seats are also in decent shape and the theaters are well maintained. The only downside is that the company has painted new lines on the lot so it’s a guessing game with parking half the time and the parking areas are in awkward locations when adjacent to the theater.

My family likes it. Just as close to home as a competing theater, but with fewer people. The ticket line can get really long, but we usually like to avoid popular nights and new releases, so we get to sit practically on our own. The seats are comfy and tilt back.

I have to say that this isn’t my favorite theater to go to. Not because it is really out of the way, but because I don’t think there is anything special about it. The seats don’t rock, the food is crazy expensive, and it’s in the middle of nowhere.

Maybe the fact that this is only the second review for this theater affirms the popularity of this place? I dunno’. As theater complexes go, this isn’t a bad one. Seems to be reasonably clean. Theaters are fine. Only mildly smelly in some of them. Sadly, as with most other theaters, I do have to gag with dropping $ 10 a ticket. Maybe that’s part of the business model. ‘1. Charge customer lots of money for a ticket. 2. Customer pukes. 3. Evacuated stomach craves food partner. 4. Customer buys highly overpriced snack counter stuff to satisfy emergent craving.‘ I know, I know. In the movie theater universe, $ 10/ticket is average to low, and complaining about this does reveal my certain penchant for being cheap. But, when choosing between that and Netflix or Vudu, staying home lets me skip: the driving; stale overpriced and overbuttered popcorn-food; the worry about what I’m wearing … more importantly, my wife doesn’t have to worry about what she’s wearing … does that lipstick match my bag, etc; and, not being beholden to the Man for deciding which movies I have to choose from. So, I tend to say«Don’t beat me down, the Man», and opt for the in-home option. But, when I do venture out, Great Escape is a decent option.

Colorful on the outside, and a little cheaper then most other movie theaters.
