I came in early a few Saturdays ago in desperate need of some bras that fit and didn’t make me want to scream after wearing them for four hours! The woman who fitted me was fabulous, I wish I could remember her name. She took her time, despite the store being busy while I was there, to bring me a variety of bras and make sure they fit properly. I left with some great bras, panties that look fabulous(and really make clothes look good!), and some comfortable shaper leggings. Am really impressed with the soft fabrics as I have been wearing these items the last few weeks. The other woman working was alot of fun and also very helpful. The prices, especially on the bras, are super reasonable(like their basic one, is 2 for $ 50, that’s like Kohl’s prices on a WAY better bra. I got two of those too!). Thanks Soma! You breathed new life into my wardrobe! :)

Soma let me down. Literally and figuratively. Soma touts themselves as a boutique type bra store where you’re supposed to get correct, custom fittings and quality products. I think the goods are pretty great, but you’ll have to spend a lot of time searching to find the right fit and may still walk away unsatisfied with the experience. The employees were really nice and did help us out, but I was fitted incorrectly and spent over an hour in the shop trying on different combinations of cups and bands to get a strapless that worked OK. And, as I discovered at the other Soma I shopped at before, the style of the bra can drastically change the sizing you need. It’s very odd, but we selected a few options via trial and error. If I’d gone with what they claimed was my correct measurement, I’d have been swimming in most of them. After finally finding a regular bra that seemed to be a good candidate(I picked it out myself) and a strapless/convertible that only held me in place properly with the straps(I suppose clear will have to do in this case), the associate that helped us for most of the time asked if I’d like to get 2 of the strapless to get a discount. I said that would be fine but requested that she give me a different bra than the one I had tried on because one of the cup’s molding was misshapen as if it had been worn, washed and returned, or possibly packed away improperly and indented, or it could just be poor craftsmanship. Either way, I wasn’t going to pay $ 30 for a defective product. The employee had popped into the back room to get a different bra and a second bra in black. She returned and gave my items to the cashier. But wouldn’t you know that I drove all the way home and discovered that the deformed bra was in the bag. Guess I’ll be going back to get this fixed. Boo!

This is a smaller store in the Oak Brook mall. I bought some nice things here for my wife in the past. Over Christmas, I stopped in and was immediately cornered by the woman who wouldn’t stop and let me breathe. I don’t know if I’d go back. It was very high pressured and the dude can’t abide.

Great selection of intimate apparrel but the salesperson was a little overbearing. The used car salesman – gotta get a sale approach doesn’t work when buying intimates. Kind of pricey for some items compared to Macy or Lord/Taylor.
