Perfect place to grab a bite in the dead of night or having a case of the munchies. Service there was so good and the waitresses are the nicest in Wisconsin!

Melrose just serves up consistent food each and every time we go there. The vast majority of the time, we have breakfast. Over the many times that I’ve been there I can honestly say I’ve never had a bed breakfast. The waitstaff is attentive, but completely overworked! The place is packed all the time. And that’s usually a good sign that they serve good food.

Best breakfast I’ve had in a long time. Reasonable too! Just revisited with the family, who agreed this place is great. We will be regulars.

It looks like a good place from the outside and their menu has a lot of options for you to pick from. The waitress was friendly and attentive and the restaurant itself seemed clean. The food however, was served cold and tasteless. I mentioned this to the manager and she told me to pick out something else and she would have it brought out to me. I did, and it was the same — cold and bland.

I’ve been coming to Melrose for a few years now and the food and service is always good! I’m addicted to their western omelette and spaghetti with Italian sausage. They have many menu options, so they have pretty much anything for anyone. Portion sizes are very large, you definitely get your money’s worth. Never disappointed!

Having breakfast here today… So far service has been decent. Food came quick and hot, not impressed with the omelets, eggs were burnt and not enough stuff inside… I wouldn’t come back just cuz I wouldn’t

I was looking for a place to grab breakfast on the way to the airport and came across this place. It totally exceeded my expectations. It’s like someone took the restaurant from a 4 star hotel and transported it into the parking lot of a neighborhood shopping center. The décor is top-notch and very clean considering the crowds they handle. Ever been to those ritzy hotels where they place ice in the urinals and the bathroom is near spotless? They are that level. The seating area is very large and can handle larger parties. It might seem packed but they got me in pretty quick. The staff was attentive and brought me coffee and took my order quickly. I decided to splurge on the Chicken and Asparagus Frittata. The waitress warned me that it would take 20 minutes to prepare but I had a few minutes to spare. When the frittata arrived, I was amazed. It covered the dinner platter edge-to-edge and to a height of over 2 inches. Near sizzling hot and covered in a luscious hollandaise. This could have easily been a meal for two or entrée for four with salads. The chicken was tender and juicy and the asparagus cooked just tender. It was a monumental but delicious challenge and well worth $ 11. Definitely worth a visit.

I’ve eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner here. The portions are gigantic! Get the stuffed meatloaf special — it won’t disappoint! Also, they are great with large groups. Pros: Large portions, friendly staff, quick service and open 24⁄7 Cons: Pricey

Fast hot and very good! I had some of the best chicken dumpling soup I’ve had in years! The gyro was huge and very fresh… Give it a try!

Go into this place and order the bourbon glazed pork steak. It is listed on their menu as one of their specialty items. They bring me two small pork chops that are dry as a bone! My server is nowhere to be found so I can get the problem fixed. So I scraped through the meal and figure I have the dessert to look forward to. So I take the dessert to go. The lady taking my ticket for my free dessert item has the personality of a wet mop. Even the dessert was dry! How can you screw up a chocolate cake! I definitely don’t recommend this place to anybody. This is a traditional Greek style restaurant where you usually get great food and exceptional service. They definitely dropped the ball! I will never return to this place ever again!

Came for breakfast one day and found this place to be a perfect diner experience. All the servers were wearing green bay packers shirts as it was the first game of the season. I ordered a feta and spinach omelet. It was good, but can you believe there was too much feta? Service was good, and so was the coffee, surprisingly. There are speakers outside of the raunt that blares elevator music, but no music played inside. Strange.

Pretty okay food and pretty fairly priced. Nothing spectacular about this place. It reminds me of a struggling restaurant before it appears on some restaurant makeover reality show. I don’t think the kitchen has roaches or anything, but the place certainly feels like it’s run by people that don’t have a clue. At 2:30 pm on a Sunday, there were four managers working. Maybe these were the owners, but it seemed way overboard for a half full dining room. The staff is poorly trained and the owners don’t seem to know any different. My salad arrived in 3 minutes after my order was placed. Not bad, except that my entrée was delivered at the same time. Three minutes for home made lasagna? Suspicious. It was not terrible, just cold by the time I finished my salad. My server had to double as my bartender and had trouble with pouring a simple beer. The bartender was on break from 2pm to 4 pm. Again, the owners/managers didn’t know any better. The desserts are trucked in by a bakery and not made on-site. Makes you wonder if they are just microwaving food back there if they outsource the desert menu. It’s too bad the owners are holding this place back. These people work hard, they just need better leadership. Call Gordon Ramsey.

I finally visited this restaurant after work. I had only tried their lunch take out before. Someone picks it up for us since it’s very close to work. They have big servings even for take out. There is plenty of leftovers. I remember ordering a fruit platter along with my panini before and you are given a big container of fresh fruits. I think I had half of a melon, bunch of strawberries, and more. In other restaurants, you will be lucky enough to get a small bowl of fresh fruits. Now that I have actually seen the place, it’s a big dinner. A lot of seating area. Its nothing fancy. The staff is very nice and helpful. I ordered the broasted chicken tonight and they give you half a chicken with your choice of potatoes. The chicken was tasty! The meat was moist with crispy skin even after my long travel back home. Their mashed potatoes with gravy was very good too! My hubby said one of the best he has tasted. The meals come with soup or salad and dessert! I am not a big fan of the chicken dumpling soup. It tasted bland to me. They have a variety of sweets from pies, cheesecake, and cakes all displayed in a big glass display case. The young man serving the desserts was very nice. He was pleasant even if I had tons of questions about the desserts. In my defense, there are no labels identifying the sweets. I have yet to taste the cake and cheesecake. I’m stuffed after eating half of my meal. They have simple and solid menu items. I will definitely visit again.

Serious Greek restaurant. All the plates are huge and everything is very very good. They are open 24⁄7 and have plenty of seating. I had the Gyros sand. and it had enough meat for two people.

I don’t know what I expected. It’s a pretty average large diner. Honestly, I’ve driven by this place 100 times and not known exactly what sort of place it was. Well, recently I found out. We met some friends and their parents here for dinner. My friend had talked this place up a fair bit on the way there, but another friend had been sure to temper my expectations. I walked in with mixed signals. The menu is diverse and huge(almost as big as their dining room, sheesh!), and the chicken parmesan I picked at was plenty tasty, if I bit on the salty side. With their dinners they offer a desert, wine, or beer. I chose the wine. On second thought, I’d recommend the desert. I’m not a sweets kind of person, but the wine was really nothing to write home about(and honestly, I didn’t expect it to be, but since I was walking in recovering from a migraine, sweets were the last thing on my mind and I thought I could stomach some light wine). I’d come back if given the chance. It’s the sort of place where I’d take a group if I had a picky eater – with all the options on the menu pretty much anyone could probably find something to eat.

The most disgusting salad ever! It’s just iceberg lettuce. I asked for croutons and bacon bits and had to .50 cents for the croutons ad 2.99 for a piece of bacon? The glass of wine I swear was church wine. My chicken pasta dish was ok. The pasta was cooked the pesto was good but the chicken was dry as hell and fatty. If it weren’t for my car being fixed next door I don’t think I’ll ever enter voluntarily. fast food might actually be better.

Certainly not in the same league as Blue’s Egg, but c’mon, this is the south suburbs. I’d settle for clean, quick service, and food that doesn’t come out smelling like wet puppies(true story about a different breakfast place I went to in Cudahy with my parents.). But that’s not the Melrose! Melrose is clean, service is great, and their menu is huge! We stopped in for breakfast, and we’re all pleased. I got pancakes with cherries(the dark kind) but passed on the whipped cream.(Noticed that so many of their pancake/french toast offerings seemed smothered in sweet, buyer beware). Pancakes were great, and my coffee never went half empty. My son got some kind of sweet pancakes on special, and those things were even more smothered in some kind of syrup than even the picture detailed. Just make sure you have a sweet tooth or get the topping on the side. As far as generic diners go, Melrose is alright!

I’ve eaten here many times and always default to the same order: hot chocolate with whipped cream, bacon and cheddar cheese omelette with hash browns and wheat toast. I’m not sure I’ll ever order anything other than breakfast food here. It’s always decent. I only ever seem to come here late at night. It’s always a good place to catch up with friends and family when I’m in town. Service was good. Our waitress had a great sense of humor and was attentive. She didn’t think it was weird at all when one of my sisters ordered a margarita along with her scrambled eggs which was a decision that greatly amused me. My other sister ordered the club sandwich and thought it was good.
