Fantastic food and even better service! I had the chicken fried steak (I normally hate sausage gravy) and it was good. My husband had the homemade chorizo and loved it. And our eggs and hashbrowns were perfect. I definitely recommend this place!

The service is always wonderful, the food always great. If I lived closer I would come here virtually every day. They serve Prime Rib on the weekends that is much better than others that I’ve had that were more expensive. Also, their clam chowder is

This place used to be a great place to eat. The kids liked going and it was reasonably priced and everything tasted great. The last few times we have gone it has steadily gone downhill. Today I was very disappointed and will not be giving it another chance. I ordered the philly cheese steak sandwich. I have ordered it here before and it was pretty good. Today there was one slice of mushroom on it total and a very small amount of onion and bell pepper. The meat was sliced far too thick and made it hard to eat. The sandwich was cut in half and half easily one third of the sandwich was empty. Asked the waitress for a side of ranch. She brought me a cup and told me it was ranch. Just by the look of it it was not ranch, turned out to be tartar sauce. Quality seems to have gone out the window here. Sad.

Easy parking. Seated with water immediately.
Server was fine. She didn’t refill but checked on us once.
Food was good. There isn’t a chain diner in town. This is the all day breakfast place if that’s what you’re craving. I loved my country breakfast. Biscuit and gravy were very tasty. Three meat omelette is a crowd favorite. Toast was buttery and delicious. Everything was perfect.
It was plenty of food and good price. I would definitely come back to try their fish and chip. We just happened to be in the mood for eggs and hash browns.

Well this place is just alright… Not to many restaurant options to choose from in Oak Harbor so I guess it’s probably one of the better and affordable places. Came on a Sunday before the brunch crowd which it seemed the waiter was kind of hurrying us up he even picked up my plate before waiting for me to respond if I wanted him to take it… So I had to actually say «oh I’m not done with that» and proceeded to place it back down. He came to our table about 3 times after we got our food so it made it seemed very rushed. All and all the food is just ok not something to get excited about and this is one of the few options so you kind of have no choice to eat here or rather just eat at home or drive out of town. Sorry it’s just mediocre

There isn’t very many places to eat breakfast, but I do like the stuffed French toast! There isn’t to much seating so you have to get there early or later in the afternoon. The hamburgers are very big I can never finish, I like that they have the large steak French fries!

Yum. My favorite for home cooked breakfast. The food has been great but a little pricey for the diner feel.
We didn’t like that it’s so tiny. Like– you can hear everyone chew which is disgusting but other than that it was great!
Beware of the wait. This place is good so they usually have a wait!

Amazing food! The staff was so friendly and catered to every request. The food came quickly and was made perfectly. The small wait time was worth it. Even when they were busy they were quick with everything. I will definitely be coming back!

What can I say, my boyfriend and I are regulars here. This is our Sunday spot to eat if I don’t work. The staff is always great and so friendly. The restaurant is very clean and the food is always so good. The burgers are my favorite. The patties are made with premium beef steak ground up fresh. And you can never go wrong with any of their breakfast.
I’d highly recommend to anyone who wants a nice home cooked type meal for breakfast lunch and dinner.

They have a great variety on their menu. Everything is available at any time of day — especially their breakfast! The pancakes are thick and probably more massive than you can fit in your belly :-) I ordered the Deluxe Cheeseburger, which comes with fries. Everything was great! They offer sweet potato fries or onion rings in lieu of fries for an extra $ 1. Everything on the menu looked wonderful, and all were around $ 11. The Island Café isn’t as capable of accommodating a group of 10 as Flyers is, but parties of 5 or less can sit comfortably. It is a great staff serving great food for a great price in a central location!

I have been to island Café several times and whenever we’re there their food is always on point. I’ve tried their country fried steak and the last time I ordered their double cheeseburger. Large portion and worth your money. Wait time might be 10 – 15 minutes on a busy day.

University Place, WA
This is the only place on the island that serves a breakfast worth coming to! We came here on a Saturday morning — parking lot was full, the entrance was crowded and the people seemed really eager to eat. The wait was about 20 minutes which went by a lot faster than it seemed. (Maybe because I was in good company.) We were greeted, seated and served within 10 minutes. It was ridiculous. I thought the food was going to take forever but no, it was hot, fresh, delicious and sooooooooo amazing that we came back the next day, stood in line again and ordered the same plate. I think the place could use a decorative uplift but I have a feeling they like the old school type of diner setting… It’s just not aesthetically pleasing to look at. lol. Friendly people, great service and amazing food. I will be back as often as I can!

I’m being a little generous with the stars simply because it’s Oak Harbor and it’s better than nothing for a sit-​down breakfast. The inside is clean and somewhat inviting and service wasn’t too slow considering they were busy. The food is ok – about Denny’s quality. Unfortunately, the prices are a little high for what you get. I ordered an omelet and substituted toast for a pancake and it was almost $ 15! No other sides were included.
Oh, and when I received my pancake, I was given a side of margarine. MARGARINE. I asked for butter and they gave it to me but it is still not ok that margarine is the default spread provided. Have some dignity, Island Café!

Fifth times the charm. Smaller building, but plenty of room inside! We usually get seated immediately, and did tonight as well.
We have always ate breakfast there which is phenomenal, so decided to try dinner. We were not dissapointed! Had the cod and chips, along with the avocado bacon burger. All the ingredients are fresh and portions are massive! Comparable prices to competition, great place for breakfast any time or dinner also!
