Mi Taco Is Your Taco

Like a lot of military folks who have been to San Diego, we had indulged in a lot of delicious Mexican cuisine, Tacos El Gordo and Lucha Libre being a few of the famous ones. Since Jaime, the cook, is from San Diego and knows what is up, I base this review off my experience with San Diego Mexican food.
Hats off for the food, seriously. It is not completely on par with the street tacos and burritos of San Diego, but it is OFFLY close. Being San Diego Mexican food that isn’t in San Diego, Mi Taco is Your Taco is LEGIT. I just got here from San Diego a week ago from this review so my memory is fresh.
You will not be disappointed here.
I had 2 adobado tacos, and the meat was super moist, bursting with flavor. I highly recommend trying.
Hubby had the shrimp Baja burrito and filled him up before he could finish it. The shrimp are huge and filling and fills your taste buds with happiness.
We sampled their fried avocado and wow I want to try the taco version, it was delightful.
The guys working are friendly and make great conversation while waiting for your food.
Excellent prices, customer service, and food render this place 5 stars. You most definitely should eat here. 2 thumbs up!

From Los Angeles and I’ve looked all over the place for good tacos. By far the best on the island if not all of Washington. Friendly staff is only a plus!

If you are ever in Oak Harbor or live here and have not eaten here, you are missing out! By far the best taco truck/​restaurant I have ever eaten at. You can not go wrong with anything on the menu. Owner and staff are supper friendly and welcoming, they are such good people.

Mi taco is your taco is THE BEST in town and probably best all around! I even went to Mexico and had tacos but Jaime’s tacos are waaaay better!

Have been here once and I might return to try the tacos. California burrito was probably one of the worst I have had. Moved up here from San Diego so I know I am spoiled when it comes to Mexican food but this wasn’t even in the same ball park. Got free soup which was fantastic and the service was friendly and fast. Would try it again but avoid the California burrito if you have any idea what it should taste like.

Jaime’s tacos are the bomb. Catch him by the base during the week and at the Coupeville Farmers’ Market on Saturdays.

Let me start this review by saying that I absolutely HATE guacamole and avocados. Can’t stand them and I think they’re disgusting and won’t touch the stuff.
With that being said, Jaime got me to not only eat guacamole, but actually ENJOY it. His carne asada fries are to die for and my wife loves the fried avocado tacos.
Since we moved up here from San Diego, we’ve had a hard time finding good Mexican comfort food on par with the taco shops down south. Mi Taco is the one.

I try not to visit here often, but only because it’s comfort food!
I have had pretty much every burrito that is offered at Mi Taco is Your Taco. I have sampled his taco’s as well, they definitely hit the spot! The special on Wednesday’s is the «Hot Mess», named for the VQ-​1 pilot who «created» it. My favorite is both the shrimp and fish burrito’s. Both offer a generous portion of large shrimp/​fish on a bed of cabbage and the aoili sauce that he uses is excellent. There is guac in it as well, all of which combine with the toritilla that will make your mouth water and fill you up! Your order comes with both green and red salsa — I prefer the green sauce, and he makes that fresh every week.
In a short period of time, your order is ready. Jaime also offers a good selection on Mexican soda.
I have had their torta’s as well. It is one of the larger torta’s I’ve ever had, and every bit as good as the burrito’s. If there is one burrito I will skip is the fried pork one. That is the only burrito I am not crazy about is the fried pork one, but if you like pork rinds, it’s pretty tasty! Jaime is a great guy and he is great to talk to while he is prepping your food. Great customer serve, great food, and quick!

Good food, good people, good prices. I go here a few times per week for lunch and have never left dissatisfied. Jaime, the cook and owner, is basically a food scientist, always experimenting with new ingredients and making new stuff to try, and it’s always good. I recommend the chiccaron burrito, but you can’t go wrong here. Five stars.

Extremely friendly and everything was on point! Got the California Burrito and it was up to par as Tacos El Gordo from San Diego. Highly recommend this spot! 5 Stars!

The best Mexican food in town hands down. My favorite is the California burrito. The avocado tacos are also super good. The owner and cook is very personable and is part of the experience. His place makes me feel like I am in San Diego again.

Love this truck alway welcomed happily great food and fast also. Convenient location off of ault field. The hot mess is great.
If your looking for great food go see them at the top of the hill!!!

How there isn’t a line all the way to downtown for this place is beyond me, but I’m not complaining. Best Mexican food on the Island hands down. The fish taco’s are light, crunchy, tasty and oohh soo good! Oh and the owner operators are wonderfully friendly! If you haven’t tried them yet, get on it, just don’t go too often so I don’t have to wait in line! :)

Jaime is the best! Everything that he’s ever made me i amazing! Wednesdays are the day to go if you’re only going to go once during the week — the «Hot Mess» tacos are unbelievable!
I you’re going to eat Mexican on Whidbey Island, this is where you want to do it!

This truck is awesome! I stop in once a week and love all the food. Both the smiling faces are always happy to see me. They have a different special every day of the week and I haven’t had a bad one. For the best Mexican food in town this place is the spot.

Went here for a quick bite to eat and was so impressed. Reminded me of the Mexican food I tried San Diego! That’s how good it is! Fresh, quick and delicious: Had a chicken taco, shrimp taco and deep fried avocado taco which all blew my mind. The fresh lime and green sauce on the side was yummy as well (: new favorite taco truck!

Great food, great service and the prices are reasonable. Excellent food truck for tacos and burritos.
