I’ve come here various times over the years, and the food and service have always been great. Only thing is the bathrooms are not very clean.

Horrible!!! bad service terrible food dirty place. The management there is horrible some of the waitress too. Bad bad service!!! Appetizers don’t order chicken strips they were to small and overcook. My french toast taste like burn onion. just terrible!!! worst service ever!!!

We like this place. Had trouble late night, so hours are changed on weekends. Food consistently good. Servers can be a crap shoot. Busy on Saturday and Sunday. Weekdays are always good.

Always 5 star service when I come. Food is always on point and they always make it easy to split the payments when there is a few of us there. I’d like to shout out this server Ali at this location because he is always been a professional when serving us here. Me and my friends have come here for years and will continue to do so

I come here Saturday mornings around 7 to 7:30 am. I usually see the same staff it is sometimes a little slow do to being understaffed more of a management issue. Servers are always nice and prompt. Food is always good.

Horrible. came here on a late night ordered appetizers and meal waited for over 50 minutes and yet no cheese sticks. There was a couple that got there about 30 minutes after us they were carrying a conversation with the waitress(I’m guessing they were friends) no problem. The problem was that we waited 50 minutes for FRIED cheese sticks when we see the waitress bringing the plates over we think yay finally! Huge disappointment when those MEALS go to the table that arrived 30 minutes after. Needless to say we walked out never going there again.

The worst service ever! Every time I’ve ever gone the service was trash! The food always takes forever. One time, my waitress told me the food was going to take up to 40 minutes to be ready and when I asked if it was because it was a busy day she told me No, that it was because they didn’t know how to act right in the kitchen. Unbelievable. The waiters and waitresses are always really nice, it’s the kitchen staff that needs to get it together.

I love this place. Come here trying something new everytime. The only thing idont like is how they over tax you. i mean seriously, a side of hashbrowns almost $ 3? Sheesh. Buut other than that staff is good and food is great.

The sign says it’s open 24 hours. We went there at 12:30 am with the sign stating 24 hours open is still illuminated, and when we went to enter the restaurant, the doors are locked and the employees are telling us they’re closed… Thanks for the false advertisement. Must be nice to be at work doing nothing until 4am still getting paid and not serving people when that’s your job… Hope the management checks up on this location.

Only reason it gets one star is there is no zero. I am happy they have veggie parties on the menu now but the cook had trouble figuring out which one it was, so the waiter put a beef hamburger in front of me(which I can’t eat). No drink refills and had to wait for everything as the waitstaff stood chatting. After all the wait for my correct order, there was barely an apology, and no adjustment to the bill. And the place was almost empty, I know now why. Not the cleanest place in the world, either. I have been to Denny’s in other places, and it’s not been that bad, actually pretty good.

I was never a fan of Denny’s but with their new menu, I have since changed my mind! The breakfast was definitely better the new sausage that they have instead of that brown n serve they use to have is a %100 difference! The service overall was much better than it was in the past! I also liked their new build your burgers and create your own shakes! Fresh, Hot and Tasty!!! Our waitress was not only fun she knew how to balance her other tables and make sure we had refills on our water, drinks and she helped make the experience a better one! If they keep up with the good work I will be back!

I don’t normally visit Denny’s and I now remember why. This place was filthy. Tables, floor, windows. I ordered wheat pancakes and the batter has gone bad. They were sour and not even a discount. Shame.

Came in for a leisurely breakfast. Tenesha G. was perfect. Attentive but not hovering. Waited until I was done before she brought the check. Food was good, had the all-american slam. Forgot it came with cheese. Didn’t want the cheese but will not make staff work harder for my mistake. Food prepped well, biscuit soft and doughy like it came out of the microwave — only down side.

I 100% agree with these reviews and especially agree with Lupe D.‘s review. I’ve been to a Denny’s out in Oak Brook and it was my first Denny’s experience and I was really impressed especially by the service, attentiveness, friendliness, tasty food, and a clean ambiance. The Oak Brook location was also where we met the«super waitress», I’d give her the best waitress award in the last 10 years of dining out. Thinking we’d get the same treatment, we foolishly visited this Denny’s on Cicero. From the exterior you have no idea, but upon entering you DO in fact notice just how small this place is. The floor had gunky food just to the right of the front door! And when we left probably an hour later — it was STILL there! It’s a depressing sterile atmosphere. Even the workers and diners looked a little sad to eat and work there. What really pissed us off was the fact that the waitress didn’t give us our drinks for 20+ minutes, it may have been longer! She took the order, disappeared, we got the soups and had no water or drink to drink with it! I was choking on my peppery soup and had nothing to drink; we were very mad. How hard is it to bring water to a table? It’s virtually free, right? After complaining about a lack of drinks, we asked the busboy and even he took a long time to get it. The pop and coffee center was immediately behind our table. It took a lot of strength not to go pour the drinks ourselves! Our drink order came somewhere in our main course, by then it was almost«too late». I usually complain about portion size because it’s too big — usually 4x a serving size. At least for the meal my husband and I split, it was way too small! I left a few percent hungry! Then to add insult to injury, the disappearing waitress finally shows up during the main course and then over-questions if we need anything while we’re having a good conversation — like 4 times! When the manager asked how was our meal, I told him exactly what happened. He neither truly apologized nor took off any $ from the bill. We’ll never be back! I rather go to McDonald’s and that’s saying a lot!

I’ve been to many Denny’s Restaurants in my day, in several cities and the first thing I noticed upon entering this location was how small it was. I was expecting the typical Denny’s experience, but unfortunately this was sub-par and nasty. It wasn’t because of the waitress, she was actually very good and attentive, but what left a very bad taste in my mouth was the maintenance of the restaurant. First of all, when we were led to a table I found that the chair I was suppose to sit in was filthy. My boyfriend didn’t care about sitting in sticky stuff, so he sat in it… I care. Then I noticed that there were several tables that needed to be cleared. Now mind you, I understand that sometimes it’s hard to get to tables in a timely manner, especially if you only have 1 person busing tables(which seemed to be the case), but what I DON’T understand is why a manager doesn’t pitch in and help in these cases, especially if there is a lull. Instead what I saw was a guy doing a horrible job of cleaning and making an even worse mess, leaving chairs sticking out into the aisle while he quickly wiped down each table. Chairs were left with gunk and food on them, not pushed back in, condiments pushed all over the tables and never put back in their place, etc. It was a mess. And when the manager occasionally walked out — HEDIDNOTHING! The place looked like a microburst hit it! I know, I know — but was the food OK — yes it was, but the ambiance always takes something away from the food and the experience and because of this the same food will taste better at another Denny’s that is cleaner… which is where you will find me… at a Denny’s other than the one in Oak Lawn.

What happened here? Something went terribly wrong. I used to frequent the restaurant on a weekly basis and I revisited it as of late and what a shock. The first thing I noticed was the management had changed and it’s not for the better. I was promptly seated which was good, but downhill from there. It took eight minutes to place an order(with 10 people in the place) and then the waiter comes back three minutes later to ask if I was ready to order.(Duh) He had not put the order in, in the last 5 minutes. Part of the order was wrong when it was returned for the second time it was still incorrect so I let it go. Not once did a server come by to refill a beverage for me, neither was there and condiments available on the table. And to top it all off the worker crew came next to me while I am still dining with his electric broom, vacuuming the carpet. This was as bad as it gets. My suggestion — keep on trucking!
