New China Express

WOW! This place looks just like an ordinary «small plaza» type of the fast food restaurant. But holly shutter! WHAT A GREAT FOOD AND HOW AFFORDABLE IT IS!!! I’ve been trying Chinese food all around the NA, but this place is just way above the average.
Inside is very clean and neat.
Chairs actually have cushions, so you can fully enjoy the food.
The lady who worked here today was very fast and easy to communicate. Altough, do not expect the «Western» welcome. This may come across as «rude» if you are not aware of the cultural differences. She was awesome!
Visit this place, you won’t regret!

Tried 4 different entrées, their white rice, combination rice, & their egg rolls yesterday. To be honest, it was a bit more pricier than I had expected it to be.
The taste was ok. Nothing great. However, the chicken was fatty, rubbery, & not at all good quality. Their breaded chicken is highly breaded. They must bread their bad pieces of chicken because that was gross. (I had the sweet & sour chicken, orange chicken, & pineapple chicken)
Also, the woman who served my order seemed rude. Maybe that’s just her person but she could have at least said hello back when I said «hi» to her. I won’t be coming here again and telling friends and family to find somewhere else to go.

This place has great quality food. The Bourbon chicken is a MUST try. Perfectly seasoned and super tasty. It’s definitely a step up from Panda Express. All of their options are good. I’ve had their shrimp fried rice, chow mein, sweet and sour chicken, beef with broccoli, chicken with peppers, Mongolian beef, egg rolls, the list goes on and it’s all top quality. I highly recommend the Mongolian beef or any beef dish they have-I’m very picky when it comes to meat and it’s really great.
I will say the service sucks and the ladies behind the counter can be very rude. Last time I was there I wanted an extra side of bourbon chicken since I forgot to get it initially. She told me it would be an extra 5.99 and I figured since I already had a lot of meat I didn’t need it and I would come back for it next time. She got pretty agitated and it was clear she was talking shit to the girl next to her after she whispered in her ear and the girl started chuckling. Not cool. But hey if that’s how they want to carry business then that’s on them.
They have been here for a while and still manage to not go out of business with their shitty service so I guess I would say they are doing something right when it comes to their food. I come here for just that-​the food definitely not the service. It’s all a bit on the pricey side too but I will say you are getting what you pay for. To go is a must.

I’ve been here several times before to pick up dinner and they always provided very large portions of tasty food at great prices. Recently I ordered takeout for a large family dinner and had a wonderful experience. They helped me order the perfect amount of food to serve the family — we were all stuffed — and it didn’t cost a fortune. I love their spicy Thai chicken, their beef & broccoli is always delicious and the bourbon chicken is my son’s favorite. Very nice people, great portion sizes, and satisfying Chinese food. Definitely a great find on the south side.

I am a big fan of Chinese food & let me tell you this is pretty great! My favorites are the mushroom chicken and bourbon chicken! Everyone needs to try new China express! It’s good tasting and inexpensive!

I’ve been eating here for years and I’ve always loved their food (especially their egg rolls). They used to have these rude girls working out front but I don’t think they work there anymore so all the better. Its a great place to go if you like taking home some leftovers because at least in my opinion they serve pretty large portions.

I like this place! I recently tried it one day for lunch and I’ve got too say i enjoyed it! Try the mushroom chicken its to die for! And the workers are very nice :)

Whenever we have a taste for Chinese, this is the place to stop by. Always hot food being served and the portions are enormous. White rice is served for free when you order the small or large chicken or beef entrees.

This place sucks. Food has no taste rude service. expensive 2 for nothing !! I would recommend any other place like panda or the buffet on 87^th way better.

It’s sad we (customers) continue to support this location… these women are very rude and disrespectful. But luckily for us we can see what they are doing while they serve us. not exactly sure about what’s going on in the kitchen. But I feel a little better while putting them in their place each and every time. This is my first Unilocal review and I truly believe they deserve it.

Workers Here are horrible they speak in their native language about you they look directly at you and giggle and laugh! They are rude and disrespectful stay away all they want is for you to hurry up and buy all they care about is your money no customer service at all ignorant and rude!!!

My kids and I had a taste for Chinese. We looked up restaurants in the area and the reviews here seemed good. We went out in the freezing cold, hungry and ready for it! From the moment we walked in the door, the woman at the counter acted like we were bothering her. My kids And I were simply just looking at the menu board and she was acting as if were such an inconvenience to her. We were the ONLY ones in there, so it wasn’t as if she was busy. She was so rude and short with me that we just left. I will never again step foot in that place again.

I must have passed this place a million times. I just stopped in for the very first time a couple weeks ago. Glad I did! It satisfied my desire for chinese in a pinch. My fav entrée is the Thai Spicy Chicken. The egg rolls are delish too.

This is a great express Chinese place. If you want good food fast then this is where you want to go.
I’ve been going there for about 2 years. I first discovered them at Oak Lawn’s Fall on the Green festival. I love the Bourbon Chicken and the Teriaki Chicken. The Orange Chicken is also very good. It has a candy like crust on it.
There are always people in there and thus the trays of food are always being replaced with super hot food. The staff is very nice and work so hard.

I totally agree with the first reviewer. The food here is basically variations on mush. I literally could not tell the difference between the chicken and the beef. The food had not flavor and was basically just god awful, I will not be back.

The food here is so bad. I don’t know but two years ago it was actually good food. They don’t have anything here that would have me go back. They even stopped giving fortune cookies with your order. You are way better off going to Panda Express.
