One of my favorite go to spots in Oak Lawn. Clean restaurant, nice staff and great good. I recommend the Godzilla rolls but I’ve tried so many dishes there and have yet to be disappointed.

Decent parking in the area. Average service. Average prices. BYOB with a $ 3 per glass corking fee. Purchase a Groupon for their best deal.

Recently stopped in for sushi last Friday. Excellent dragon roll! Friendly place with a local Oaklawn following. Kid friendly(although place doesn’t have much room ones that like to wander…). Pretty big menu that has much more than just Sushi. I tried the udon noodle soup and recommend that as well! Cheers!

My daughter and I are regulars here when we need our sushi fix. We love the sashimi combos and specialty rolls. I especially like the Beverly Roll. The price is right and the service is great… we always look for our favorite server Shelly, she takes good care of us.

I was surprised to see so many bad ratings for this place. I’ve been here about 5 times and I haven’t had any negative interactions, though I’ve always order to go. My greatest complaint has been that there isn’t enough soy sauce for the sushi at times and the soy sauce is too salty(probably a good reason not to want extra). I read a review about the customer service. I have only had limited interactions with the staff. They seem friendly and nice, but a small sample size could be misleading. I haven’t ever found any bugs in my food, but I’m also pretty unfocused when I eat. If there were bugs in my food, they were pretty tasty. My wife usually finds the bugs in her food when we order out and she has yet to find any in the food from Sushi Thaime. I hope they read some of these reviews and continue to improve their business.

My wife and I have been going here for years and have always loved this place BUT to our disappointment we were recently infuriated at the customer service over a simple pick up order and the manager was actually the one directly involved. Two mistakes were done by the manager in having the incorrect pick up time(off 30 min) and then it ended up being the wrong order which we found out when I got home. Now we understand things happen but the unbelievable part was when my wife called asking for it to be corrected and since this was their mistake, if they could deliver it to the house which was just 3 min away. Not only did this Manager refuse, but boldly called me a LIAR to my wife over the phone claiming I gave her a different order. I get that there can be a language barrier, but her insistent attitude that we were wrong was over the top. Hungry and determined to straighten this out, my wife went down there and again the manager refused to take the friendly customer service route insisting the old food be brought in making her get it out of the car and with no apologies made us a new order. This was all over a small $ 15 order and I tried to call and speak with the manager after all this wanting to give them and this manager another chance but she refused to talk to me and never called me back. I read the reviews of this place and recently not only is the customer service a disappointment but the food doesn’t taste as good as it used to. I do hope they can turn this around… and if I was the owner I would start by letting this ignorant manager go!

Just had the best meal at Sushi Thaime. We ordered General Tsaos Chicken which was freshly prepared and tasty. We also tried a few sushi rolls. The Pearl, The Beverly and The Phoenix. Everything we ordered was excellent and the fish was so fresh. This is officially my favorite sushi joint! The front of the restaurant makes you question whether or not to go in however once you try the food you will not be disappointed.

I was a sushi virgin & my aunt took me to sushi thaime and I can say that this place made me love sushi! It’s so fresh and delicious! Everyone should stop by here when they are in the oak lawn area! It’s a sushi must!

Great experience. Finally found a good sushi joint I don’t have to go into the city for. The dumplings and sushi were really good! Don’t try the coconut soup it was way too sweet, but they took it off the bill. I will be back.

One of our favorite sushi joints. The menu is limited, but they maintain a high quality. With a wife with a sensitivity to crappy sushi, this place has never given her a problem. For as few options there are in the south suburbs, I’m glad they’re actually among the best in the greater Chicago area.

I read the reviews and decided to give this place a try for dinner. I ordered spicy tuna and spicy shrimp rolls. As I patiently waited, I noticed the place filling up pretty quickly. After quite a long time, my rolls came. After I finished, I wanted to order another roll because I was still hungry. I called for my waitress twice and nothing. They only had one waitress and one sushi chef. Finally, I got her attention and ordered another roll but that was a mistake because it took forever. Plus, I had to ask to have my water refilled. I was never asked how I was doing or if I needed anything. Very poor service very slow service! The food was good but not the best and I recommend ordering to go because of the bad customer service.

Sushi Thaime is the sister restaurant to Sesame Inn in Evergreen Park, and the sushi is very similar(this means I avoid the spicy tuna roll, sadly, because spicy tuna is my all-time favorite thing to order at sushi restaurants). The rest of the food here is yummy, though, and I like the ambiance in here a bit more than Sesame Inn. It’s more cozy than Sesame Inn, so better for a date. I recommend the shrimp tempura roll and super white tuna sushi or sashimi. It’s amazing. Warning: They have very slippery, large, unwieldy chopsticks, so I always ask for the wooden takeout version. They look at me strangely when I ask, but I do not care. I can only use dainty Japanese chopsticks. The big Chinese ones give me nightmares.

The sushi was horrible. The rice was not a real sticky rice, the tuna wasn’t flavorful at all. They didn’t know what a Kani salad is. No spicy mayo offered. Finally the Wasabi is a low grade. The only thing that was ok wad the Shumai. There are not too many sushi places in this area so my guess is they try but they failed. I have not had their Chinese food but I haven’t heard a good review about it. They should stick to an all Chinese menu.

This place has amazing sushi! The Chefs are amazing! Probably the best sushi iv have. I would put it as my top 3 sushi places iv ever been to. But number 1 is still sushi sushi brokers in Phoenix. So complement to the chefs. The only reason why they didn’t get the last star is because of the server. Our cups were empty more then half of the time us being there but our server was to busy texting on her phone during work the To give us refills on our drinks. Also the prices are kind of getting up there like 13 bucks for 8 rolls. But you get what you pay for right

I came here on a date and was completely embarrassed. From the lack of cleanliness on the outside to the grime in the restroom and the surly waitress I had nothing to say but sorry. I’m a huge fan of their sister restaurant Sesame Inn and thought this would be a nice intimate place to try. I could not have been more wrong. When we arrived the outside was down right filthy. I was considering the weather and road salt until I realized it’s been a week since it snowed and the businesses next door had spotless windows and clean doors. The waitress seated us right next to another couple who were dumped a couple bottles of perfume on themselves prior to dining out. I can’t blame the restaurant or waitress for what other patrons do but I believe if the tables weren’t on top of each other that it wouldn’t have been as much of an issue. Upon a visit to the restroom I was disgusted to see the locking doorknob and light switch completely covered in filthy grime. It seems it’s been months since anyone cleaned the place. The mirrors, bottles, and glasses behind the bar were smeared and covered in dust. This just added to the overall lack of cleanliness. The waitress hasn’t been overly friendly but as business picked up she clearly became frazzled and lost all customer service skills. Even asking for an extra napkin became a problem for her. Oh, the food! It’s sad when the cleanliness and service outweigh the food. Our Shrimp Tempura was slightly overcooked but still tasty. Sushi was freshly made and presented well. The order of Singapore Noodles was overly spicy but not overcooked and had some nice BBQ Pork. Overall I’d skip this place. Too many bad things to deal with for just average food.

Not what I expected. At best it was a simple OK. I mean, I used a Groupon but it was still not a good choice. The food was again very simple, no streamers falling down, no whistles when the food came out and the taste was at best«bland». I usually do not like to talk about Thai since I am a fanatic of Thai, but this time around I was not impressed. Please understand that this joint is quite eye catching but still a bit small for those who go with friends. Maybe a small group but a bigger group would have such a hard time here with the maneuvering and such. The food at best in my palette was okay. Ive definitely experienced better and bigger portions. But on the South side, we have very little to go on. So if you don’t mind small restaurant dining, then your okay. Oh but if you want a real traditional experience, they do offer a table(ONE) in the front that actually has the sunken table where you dangle ever so slightly and your feet are under ground. That’s kind of cool, but again, only one party can do that at a time since there is only one table of this sort.

«Life is so very difficult. How can we be anything but kind.» ~ Buddha If you seek to experience adventurous sushi that rivals dishes found deep within the magnificent city of Chicago, then please… continue on that glorious journey elsewhere. God’s speed! I dine here as it is convenient, the fish continues to be fresh and flavorful, and the lunch specials leave some coinage in the olé’ pocket without the hassle of large crowds. And hey… I’m prone to fits of fondness for crowds, but there are days or evenings when I just want my sushi fix and no fuss… that’s when I swing by here. I realize this is run by «Sesame Inn» and I am not a fan of that establishment, but whatev. Everything in life doesn’t make sense, so logic. off you go! Sushi Thaime boasts mellow décor, generous cocktails, a wall of comfortable banquette seating, attentive servers and rear parking that is easy breezy. Love their Groupon specials, green tea is always a win and unlike many other local establishments, their cucumber salad is never dry or overly sweet. Dig that they will make my sushi rolls with minimum rice if I’m keeping the carbs low and serve up chilled water with slices of fresh lemon during my meal. They know me here… and all of the other regulars as well… and so we now engage in this personable, kind exchange of gratitude… minus meaningless verbiage. Nom Nom Nom 3 on the nose; Service and comfort mean oodles to me when I’ve been working or running about like a madwoman so I need to de-stress, YO. This is the Southside… land of magnificent stuffed pizza, gargantuan burritos, and saucy wings. It’s nice to have a chill spot. without lines and mammoth menus to grab a quick, healthy bite… often on my own. *fiddles with my smart phone* Ooo.it’s my turn in «Words with Friends»!
