Beanscene is super cute!!! There aren’t really a ton of places out this way as far as cool coffee shops go so I’m really glad I found this place. It’s a cute little shop, and they have wine as well.

Never come here for open mic night, especially if you are young. There’s one person singing the entire time. I came here for open mic night and this guy sang for over an hour. He worked there. I told him that I was there for open mic night and he sang anyways. False advertising it’s not an open mic night. It’s a one man show and no other artists matter. Don’t waste your time coming here.

I love everything about this place. From their amazing coffee selections to their delicious breakfast items. Big fan of the triple B and egg in a cup. Thursday evenings with live music and a food truck is always a good time as well. The people who work their are just as friendly as the owners. Heck the only thing stopping me from coming other evenings is they don’t have a tap for a good local craft beer… I mean everyone’s doing it. ;)

My favorite place for coffee in Westlake by far. Baristas are super friendly and accommodating! Love their coffee especially the Jamaican me Crazy!!! So good! Definitely a local gem

The best coffee place in the area. The setup is rrally cute. Really good place to get work done, or meet friends or colleagues. Service is fast and baristas are kind. Always have to stop by when I want to treat myself and my family. They have a great beer and wine selection! Would choose this local place over Starbucks anyday!

This is probably the worst experience I have had. I ordered an iced latte and the beans were so completely burned my tongue hurt. Ladies who worked there were loud and obnoxious and I left my coffee on their counter and told them their beans were burned. Worst place. Never coming back to oak park again.

I want to give 2.5 stars or 2 stars but because they’re local small coffee shop in the same parking lot of starbucks I’ll give them 3 for effort. I totally understand if they forget to make my drink because it’s crowded or they’re busy — however — the shop was mostly empty. My boyfriend ordered first and while he ordered and paid for his I decided to try a drink special to them the beanscene. I ordered 1 minute after him, within a few minutes he had his drink while I waited and waited and waited. The guy who helped me would look at me and even though he placed my order he didn’t think that someone should actually be making it. after 10 minutes I finally asked, while they were pow wowing and assigning clean up tasks, «where’s my drink?» No one was making any drinks and the lady apologized and made it instantly. I walked over on my 15 minute break and was late. needless to say a lack of organization left me waiting for nothing; the drink was mediocre and not worth the 4.50 — I hate being a Starbucks user but at least they don’t forget about you(let alone being much busier). Again. if they were busy I’d give them another shot, but they weren’t busy, one person ordered after me and got their drink in moments like my boyfriend so maybe if they don’t forget about you and you try a cheaper drink and are trying to not support Starbucks go for it.

Beanscene is a FUN hidden treasure with yummy freshly brewed drip flavored coffee and a nice selection of food items. The local vibe is relaxing and cozy. Check out the Thursday night band and wine/food truck event… SOFUN! AND… pet friendly(outdoors only of course).

What an awesome neighborhood café! Very cozy, great coffee and delicious sweets. They also serve breakfast and lunch which is a great bonus to a coffee shop. I visit this spot every other day now. Thank you Beanscene!

I have to start by saying I actually didn’t order anything from here directly… But everyone around me was drinking wine and socializing seems to be having a good time. I stumbled onto this place because I noticed the food truck in the lot. Every week on Thursday from 6 – 9 they have live music and a food truck come here. I ordered from the food truck it was yummy lobster tacos and shrimp tacos! I could see coming her with friends or my husband and having a drink and yummy food… It’s on my list of come backs to try out! Be prepared this place was busy and took me 40 min to get thru the food line… But it was Main lobsters food truck… Kinda famous from TV and being on Shark Tank so I am sure that had something to do with the long line! Over all this place had a good vibe with the music and outside seating.

Nice little neighborhood coffee house that has an identity crisis. Beanscene Expresso is a coffee house during the day which morphed into a wine bar at night. Actually 2.5 stars. I’m not a big fan of there coffee it’s more of personal flavor profile and use of ingredients as opposed to clueless baristas. I like soy milk with a drop of mocha and toffee nut in my latte they use a funky brand of soy and there mocha is a powder instead of a syrup. It just doesn’t work for me. On the other hand my kids really like there Beanscene Blasts(think Ice blended or Frappuccino) which I will get for my kids but walk the 50 feet to there competitor Starbucks and get my drink… The things we do for our kids lol they have a limited food menu mostly heated and resold as opposed to freshly baked or made from scratch. More of a grab and go snack. The staff is really nice, friendly and eager. The location is clean and inviting with a warmth to it. Sadly I just don’t like the taste of there coffee when I really wanted to like… The wine bar concept at night while it is interesting nevertheless it’s a coffee house serving wine with some cheese at night. They have brought in food trucks on ocassion to liven it up but if i want a wine bar experience i would much prefer Stonehaus or even Bellavino as a destination for wine and goodies not a coffee house…

I have been going to Beanscene since I was a little girl and several years ago the owner changed. Since that happened there has been a MAJOR downfall. Beanscene used to be such a cozy family oriented place where I would love to go after school. I felt like the owner and employees cared for their customers. None of this exists today. The past three times I have gone to Beanscene with my boyfriend they have been out of major ingredients like bread for a panini! They don’t tell us this until after we have paid and are waiting for our food. They are completely unapologetic and do not care that this keeps happening. This past time they refunded us for the whole order and then charged us back for the drinks we ordered! This happened while the owner was standing right there. It’s very sad because I have always loved going to Beanscene but it’s just not the same.

Incredible staff. They’re always super friendly and make it so enjoyable to spend time there. I love supporting small local businesses and Beanscene is one I absolutely would recommend to anyone. There’s a Starbucks in the parking lot walking distance away, but why not support a local family instead and get even better coffee? They have an adorable porch outside to enjoy their food and drinks at. The cutest décor and the best part is that they’re not only a coffee shop, but a wine store as well.

Very disappointing; Will NOT be returning. However, in all fairness, I’ve given the BeanScene many chances. I really hope the OWNER reads this, as she has not been in the last few times I went there. For a neighborhood café that’s trying to compete with Starbuck’s(located 50 yards away across the parking lot), BeanScene will HAVE to do better than this. The owner needs to enforce much higher standards, and keep an EYE on her staff. First, we have found the service to be extremely poor & uneven. The counter staff did not listen carefully the last 2 times I was there,(once in February & the other in January) forgetting a food item and giving me the wrong drink twice. Sometimes they bring your food/drinks to you, other times not. I notice the owner typically brings the food to your table. Again, not a big deal, but little touches like this can add that personal flavor. Another night in January I stopped in on a weeknight with a friend around 6:30pm hoping to get a couple of paninis and sit for ½ hour. They place was basically empty. They are allegedly open until 8pm, but we were told by a unsmiling guy behind the counter«sorry we’re not serving any more food because we’re closing.» REALLY??? Again, I didn’t see the owner anywhere, and couldn’t help but wonder if she is even aware of this… More recently, a friend & I decided to check out the wine/cheese selections. When I inquired if we could get a smaller cheese plate, a counter staff person told us she could«make it smaller by taking some of the cheese off, but I’ll have to charge you the same price. «WHAT?!! C’mon.

Lovely little coffee place serving breakfast, lunch and smaller dishes in the evening. You can also order wine and beer from a fairly wide selection. We came here twice today, in the afternoon for coffee and tea, and in the evening for wine and lobster rolls and lobster tacos, the latter from a visiting lobster truck(which got financing from Shark Tank on MSNBC). An additional event for the evening was live music, guitar and vocals, for the yuppie generation, e.g. the music from the 70’s and the 80’s. A very nice evening!

Beanscene Espresso. The name is quite fitting in terms of the drink that I ordered. At the establishment, I ordered a doppio con panna hoping that the pull of espresso will go for 20 seconds which is actually a shorter pull than the average espresso. When I asked the barista working how long the shots are, he replied candidly with 14 to 16 seconds. A pull that short results in grinds ending up in the espresso, but I decided to give it a chance. I must say, he layered the whipped cream perfectly which I really appreciated; however, the ending to the espresso was extremely disappointing. Beanscene, please do not let the«beans be seen» in my espresso. If there are grinds in the coffee, you’re doing no better than the Starbucks 50 feet away from your business. Despite the mess up of my drink, the ambience is very nice and comforting. I really enjoyed the little pictures onthe wall as well as the wines displayed. The lights are fitting for a coffee shop like this, and I’m truly hoping to see improvements in the store. Another thing I enjoyed is the customer service which I believe is the reason it can sustain 3 stars in this review. He made sure to ask if the drink was okay and offered to remake it for me if I was unsatisfied. Some future advice for Beanscene. Further explore the true essence of coffee, how long shots SHOULD be pulled, tamping methods, etc. Other than the quality of coffee, Beanscene is a great place for a small get together or study session. Comfortable environment, friendly people, shabby coffee that has potential.

Beanscene has such a nice down home feel to it and I enjoy their coffee almost every morning! They also have a fun Thursday night wine and beer gathering with live entertainment. The only thing that ownership should work on is the length of wait time. Maybe keep one person on register to take the orders and not leave to make drinks, etc so that customers that want a quick cup of regular brewed coffee don’t have to wait an eternity!

I wanted to give a better review but I didn’t have such a great experience here today. I ordered an iced latte. I was given a hot drink. It was a medium and half of the cup was entirely foam. I should have complained but the gal who made my drink seemed in a hurry so I just went with it. I know, I know… my fault… should have said something. But eesh. Will give them another try again.

Please support this little spot. A big corporate coffee place moved in right next door and are totally trying to squeeze them out of business. They also have BOOZE and food; I had a very nice grilled turkey panini, I loved. Support the little guy.
