Kelly is amazing. I immediately felt right at home upon entering her eclectic, artsy space. She is fun and easy to talk to as well as incredibly knowledgeable about what she does. My cut/​color is perfect!

Kathy worked with what I already loved about my hair and took it to the next level. As a new client she made sure I didn’t do anything too drastic with my long hair and suggested that I go middle of the road, which turned out to be just the right advice! Definitely a fair price for excellent service.

A great cut at a very reasonable price — what’s not to love about that?! Kathy is a wizard with her hair cutting tools and she manages to get more texture in my baby fine hair than I thought was possible. She can work off of pictures you bring of the style you’d like or she can come up with great ideas of her own. The salon atmosphere is very warm and friendly — it feels like you dropped by a friend’s house to get your hair cut. Five stars for sure!

Kathy cut my fine hair perfectly! Not everyone knows what to do with a ton of fine hair. She listened to my hair idiosyncrasies, and gave me just what I needed for my face, my frenetic life, and haircut. Supporting Independent, entrepreneurial women should always be this fun!

I didn’t even get a service from Kathy but she gave me 20 minutes of advice on the phone and in the salon and was super honest about the fact that she couldn’t really help me unless I wanted to spend loads of money which I really appreciated. So go to Kathy, she is really wonderful and will give you the best advice and help.

I found Kathy on Unilocal — Thanks to all the great reviews! She’s the stylist I’ve been looking to find. I love everything about calling Kathy «my stylist». When I called for my first appointment, I knew that this was the person I’ve been looking for. It’s been three days since my cut and for the first time in a long, long time, I had a stranger come up to me and say «Great haircut!». I am thrilled!

I’ve found my hairdresser! I’ve always been a little fickle but I’m going to stick with Kathy as long as she’ll have me. She is SO talented, not to mention a ton o’ fun to talk to. And no surprise that her jewelry is also fabulous.

I made an account on Unilocal just so I can leave a comment for this awesome woman. I went to see Kathy for the first time last night. I hate my hair every time I get it cut. I waited until I washed and dried my hair today to see if I can style it myself. Let me tell you, this woman knows her stuff! Best hair cut I have ever had. I absolutely love it! This is a one on one experience with just you and her and she’s extremely talented and shares awesome conversation and tips! I finally have a hair dresser!!! Yay!!! Can’t wait to go in for my highlights! I highly recommend her!

I am in love with Kathy! I have seen her twice now for a cut and color. The first time was for an all over color and a mini highlight. I had been blonde for so long I needed to tone it down. Kathy knew exactly what I meant and got me all squared away. When it came time for my hair cut I explained that I had been growing my hair out and just wanted the tinniest trim. And that is what I got. This last time I decided it was time for a change and got a partial highlight and cut close to 6″ off of my hair. It looks fabulous! I have gotten so many compliments on my hair over the last few days. I am in love with this cut. Kathy also carries Pureology hair care products and sells the shampoo and conditioner by the Oz. Which if you use Pureology, you know that is a steal. So BYOB. She also carries Moroccan Oil products. This stuff smells like heaven and is great. If you are prone to frizz or static, I highly recommend it.
Kathy also designes some of the most beautiful handmade jewelry. I have an odd birthstone, which happens to also be hers and asked Kathy if she would be able to make me a pair of earrings. We talked about some ideas of what I was looking for and we came up with what I was looking for. She said that if she had some time over the weekend she would try to work in them. I can’t wait to see how they turned out.
Lastly, her prices are out of this world. A highlight alone at any other salon would cost you over $ 100. But my last visit for a highlight and haircut, $ 115! You can’t beat that.

Update: Wish I could give MORE than 5 stars. I have referred friends here in the past year and all have been incredibly pleased. I’m STILL get compliments on my hair and she cut it short for me a YEAR ago :) So great! At $ 45 its so affordable — and her cuts LAST. Even her music selections rock — this place is ‘one of a kind’ in the best possible way! I’m telling you: go and let her make you cute! :)

Kathy’s jewelry designs are beautiful. She makes all of the jewelry herself, and it is lovely. She is incredibly talented, nice, and funny. I love her little store! A great place to get really lovely gifts for not that much money!

I go all the way to oak park to get kathy to do my hair. It’s actually not so far, and it’s close to the blue line as well, so i can CTA it if necessary. Kathy does the best cuts i’ve ever had and awesome highlights too. She also makes and sells jewelry right in her beauty salon, so you can buy and dye all at once!
She is less expensive than the salons downtown and i get tons of compliments. For me a cut with highlights is $ 90 – 110. Her shop isn’t super fancy, but it has local art on the walls and her cute jewerly to fancy it up. FYI, she only accepts cash or checks, so plan ahead. Bring extra to buy jewelry!
