I believe in borderline hibernating during winter. Especially during single digit temps. Thus, the reason I decided to give this place a try. Pretty disappointing. Ordered delivery. The Salerno specialty salad was watery which suggested it had been refrigerated for days. I drained at least 3 ounces of water from the container. The lettuce was definitely from a package of some sort. As for the main entrée, i requested meat ravioli and was given cheese ravioli which tasted microwaved. It was drowned in marinara and I did not like it much either. Pros: The complimentary bread was good, the delivery time was less than 30 minutes and they are open until 11p on weekdays. I will give them another try one day but it goes without saying I will order something different the next go around.

Pizza was bad to much Doug and the sauce was tasteless. On the bright side the person that took my order was great. Lol But willing to try them out again and hope they were just having a bad day.

Water– wish I took a picture but the bus boy brought water to the table and there was a dead fly floating in one of the glasses! Pizza– It’s definitely quantity over quality. Large pizza, cheap price and no flavor. If you want mostly dough and a very thin layer of sauce and cheese then this is the pizza for you. Fettuccine Alfredo– pasta wasn’t cooked all the way and was served swimming in a very watery and bland sauce. Paid extra for chicken to be added and instead of a piece of chicken breast it was very small cubes mixed into the pasta. Bread– almost the best part of the meal. Little roll of bread that is warmed up behind the bar. It’s hard to mess up store bought reheated bread and they didn’t. Service– Slow waiter. Didn’t refill drinks in a timely manner and I asked very nicely for some paper napkins which I never got. It isn’t a large dinning area but there were a few tables. Guess it was asking too much for extra napkins while I ate the extremely watery pasta.

Do not order from here unless you have 2 hours to wait. We placed an online order last night at 6:30 p.m. The site said the delivery time would be 7:53 p.m. which wasn’t great, but we decided since it was Halloween we could deal. I started calling the restaurant at 8:00 p.m., when our pizza had still not arrived, only to have the phone ring off the hook with no one ever answering my call. At 8:20 p.m. my husband drove to the restaurant to see where our pizza was. At 8:25p.m. The driver arrived at my door asking me how I was. Was he kidding!!! I’ve been waiting for 2 hours for a pizza, how did he think I was? So, I explained that I was pissed because of the long wait. The driver regaled me with a tale of woe about how the restaurant didn’t plan to be so busy in Halloween and there wasn’t anything he could do. I called my husband to tell him to come back home. The women at the restaurant told my husband they unplugged their phone because they were so busy. WHAT!!! That’s their idea of customer service!!! When we open the pizza that was mostly crust, it wasn’t even what we ordered. I will never give Salerno’s one more cent for their overpriced, crappy pizza.

I tried to call after the 60 minutes of scheduled delivery time. I call over 20 times and no one ever picked up. This has to be the worst service I have ever received from a pizza place. Needless to say I will never order from Salernos again. I should have gone to Paisans.

Hands down this is the best pizza in Chicago. The frappuccinos are better than where most of you buy them ;) and the ingredients are top quality ice cream and fresh espresso. Also I am a marinara snob and have yet to find a place with better marinara sauce

service was pretty poor last time we went, waiter brought the wrong pasta and then acted like I ordered something else, made me feel bad about asking them to make what I ordered. Then to get my pasta was like another 20 minutes. Because they«rushed» to get it to me, it was very watery and lacked any flavor at all. I am ranting but they usually are right on with these things.

If you like deep dish pizza that is 95% crust with a small coating of okay sauce and cheese, this is the place for you. It’s very reasonably priced for what you get, but it’s definitely not the best pizza around. I’ve been with friends who tried various pasta dishes and salads. They were satisfied but not eager to return again.

Used to love this place, took them an hour and a half to deliver mediocre food. Wasn’t hot, just ok

The food and atmosphere were both good my only problem with my visit would be one of the advert programs Salerno’s used and how difficult the front cashier /host made the process … Belly bites is a great method to draw in new guests such as my wife and i. We came in and mentioned that we have belly both my wife and i … And that we wanted to utilize the free bite that was advertised … Mine was on my phone so utilizing the free bite was rather easy my wife does not have the app yet and the script online said all she needed to do was check in with belly … After about 10 min they finally agreed to giving us what the bite had promised and only after making both my wife and i feel like fools … As if we were some how being dishonest … I may give them another shot … The food was decent … But that is why i gave them a 3 star.

Ordered pizza online and they messed it up, but whatever, even the right order couldn’t have saved this review. The pizza was so mediocre and not worth the price. The crust is too thick and lacks any flavor – they need to salt this thing. The toppings, while fresh, had no seasoning so it just tasted like slightly cooked tomatoes and mushrooms. I’ll add that the positive reviews on Unilocal are likely from people in the area that maybe have had this pizza since they were kids because there’s no way this pizza is objectively a four or five star.

I will say that the delivery was right on time, and that is the only positive. We ordered two pizzas, one thick and one thin, and what a disappointment. They were both bland and unimpressive. Extremely pricey, and in my opinion they were not worth the money. Don’t see us ordering from here again.

It’s a nice little spot in the neighborhood to visit. They have a place outside to sit and eat which is kind of cool. Feature request: please add APPLEPAY support for 5 stars!

It’s just not what it use to be. Had pizza last night and it had no taste. My last two experiences were similar. Not consistent.

This is a review for their pizza by the slice. Went in to grab a slice to fix my insane pizza craving. I’ll give the place 3 stars only because for $ 5 and 20-some cents you get one-fourth of a medium sized pizza and a pop. I’ll also give 3 stars because the kind elderly man at the register won my heart. But the pizza itself is very ‘meh’. It’s not NY style, nor is it Chicago style. It’s more like pizza bread rather than a slice of pizza, with a thick layer of bread through the whole slice(not just at the crust) with sauce and cheese. The bread overpowered everything. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but it was a little reminiscent of what Sbarro’s pizza used to be a few years ago. I’m guessing their other entrée items and pizzas made to order are better because there were quite a few walk-ins despite me coming in at a rather odd time — so if you have some time on your hands, maybe check those out instead!

I really like their martinis! I was wondering where the bar was when I walk then it seemed weird but it was tucked in the middle. It is a really nice cozy place the pizza was good! However their martinis were really good. Would like to come back again and try something else.

I gave them one star and that is being very nice. My company orders from here all the time. OMG… The pizza is so dried out and very little sauce on it. Its like they just put a tablespoon of sauce on each pizza. The fried chicken is so over cooked and dried out and hard. The pasta is ok needs alot more sauce. Idk what is wrong with this place you would think if they cater to a large company on a regular basis they would take some pride in their food. I would NEVER pay for their food or goto the resturant on my own person time. Im sorry I am just speaking the truth.

I wanted lasagna. A big chunk of it. Man, did this place deliver! I don’t go for Italian food often because I know I can make it cheaper at home… Lasagna however, a good one takes the right amount of love and considering my husband can’t really eat it… I just had to get it here. My parents ordered the supreme specialty pizza. They love thin crust(odd because they’re from Chicago… Right?!) and I like deep dish so they got to enjoy that all for themselves. Hence my lasagna order ;-) The pizza is cut into squares which is great for those who don’t care for crust, you get the inner slices. The toppings were quite generous and the sausage was my moms favorite. Really good flavors. My lasagna was the size of my head, seriously. I ate ¾ of it and took the rest home. The waiter was impressed, lol. The sauce was sweet and had tomato bits; the cheese was ooey gooey and the noodles really held up during the cook time. The pizzas come from a separate kitchen so our good came out a few minutes apart which is fine because the entrees come out steaming! As do the pizzas; so you’ll want time to let things cool. The front of the restaurant has gelato and other sweet treats. We were too full to get anything to go though. My dad has been coming here since his HS days; I think he enjoyed a trip down memory lane(even though it’s a different location). You can get pizza by the slice too.

This place serves really huge portions but the dishes lack that party in your mouth flavor. Dnt get me wrong, they hav plenty of sauce but I guess not enuf salt. At least it’s a cute lil fancy place.
