Love it here. Been going for 20 something years. One thing is I think they need change the dressings back to what they used to be and the salad back to the lettuce it used to be.

The Chile Rellenos are the bomb! especially the Ranchera sauce they put over the Rellenos. I would appreciate it they could give me the recipe for the sauce. All the food is great and fresh! I have never been disappointed!

Well, here I am on a family vacation in this sweet little jem of a town looking for something to fill my jibblets up and what fills a jibblet better than some Mexican foods. Me and my beloved family started off with the nacho appetizer plate and boy was it tastes. Even the nacho that had minimal nacho topping was delicious(a rare occurrence for any nachos). I then got to the main course, the carnitas plate. The second I put this succulent soft meat into my mouth it fell apart, as it was roasted to perfection. I had a moment of pure bliss as I enjoyed this scrumptious meal. I give Casa de Lago a 4⁄5 because the seating arrangements are a litte too close together personally, I don’t really want to be close to another family that they judge me for getting the meat sweats from a worthy meal. Nice ambiance tho.

Always good food, great when they’re busy. Prices make up for anything lacking in atmosphere, which needed a facelift 10 years ago. Staff is helpful. Your initial service needs are always accounted for & extremely prompt. Staff does have an unfortunate habit of getting lost in the shuffle if busy. Should you need a refill or check make sure you’re accompanied, so the wait doesn’t seem longer than actually is.

This restaurant catered an event I recently attended the food was delicious. Santa Maria style Tri tip, chicken, garlic bread, delicious bbq beans with a salsa kick. Can I tell you about the cheese and Chile tamales! Oh wow, you need to stop by this restaurant and sample it’s authentic Mexican cuisine. …you won’t be unhappy I guarantee it! It was a sad event, but the great food made it a little easier to handle the situation and the day.

Yummy authentic local Mexican food! Second time here and really enjoyed it both times. Old school style is sure fun sometimes. My husband had the chicken burrito and I had the bean tostada al a carte. Service is quick and polite. Chips were refilled promptly when the basket was empty. Margaritas were awesome. We will be back!

What a find. I explained to a local waiting tables elsewhere the best thing about food is when it is made with love. She has been going to Casa de Lago since she was a kid, she told. Go to the one in Oakview, not Ojai, she added. I ordered to go as I was leaving Ojai and pressed for time. The waitress lingered in the kitchen, and handed me a bag as soon as it was finished. I spoke with the owner who casually mentioned he was rolling tamales in back. A gentle man who cares about his business. And, yes, the food had that feeling of love and caring just as advertised.

We have a new Ventura Axxess card and what I love about the Axxess card is that there are restaurants on the card that we haven’t tried or want to try. We came across Casa de Lago because of the Axxess card. My husband had the chicken fajita burrito and I had the tostada grande with asada. Both of our meals were excellent! Service was ok. Refills on drinks were really slow but maybe it was an off day for the waitress? We will definitely return!

Yesss! Love this place. Great margaritas and chilles rellenos! Authentic food, very friendly staff, and just down the road from my house. Love that o have this option for tasty Mexican food. The general manager is the man! He came by to say hello and was extremely nice to my friends and me. I recommend this place for those passing through oak view!

The Oak View location has always been my favorite. I used to also go to the one in Ventura until it changed hands. I was always enjoyed what I’ve ordered weather for dine in or carry out.

Great find! One of the best little Mexican restaurants ever. Perfect margs, food, and memorable service. Enchiladas were great. The older gent that waited on us was classic. If you’re up in Ojai, give this spot a go and you won’t be sorry.

The food is excellent. The staff is always happy. The price is not bad at all. You can’t go wrong stopping in Casa for a wet carne asada and their chips and salsa.

They were okay to me. My first time eating here and I got the #10. I expected there to be meat in the enchilada but it was just cheese. a little diappointed! Staff was very nice though. They give you chips and two different salsas and I liked the hot better then the mild. They were very busy for being a little place.

Been coming here since I was little and it never disappoints. Not very authentic, pretty gringo actually but non the less still delicious. Always friendly and attentive staff and everything’s reasonably priced.

I used to come to this restaurant more often, but found they have a location closer to my home so now I visit that one instead. Anyway, I was at this one with some friends last week and it’s just as good as their other spot, though maybe more crowded. The restaurant feels pretty small and cramped, but once you get your table you have your own space and it’s not bad. Service was polite and friendly and the food was delicious, as I’ve come to expect from the Casa de Lago name. My friends had only been here a few times and that was mostly for drinks so I gave them some menu recommendations and they loved their food. I got my standard shrimp taco and my friends got the chicken wrap(it’s a burrito) and some sort of enchilada platter. I also ordered the fried ice cream for us all to share. My friends admitted they probably never would have ordered that dessert, and they were super full so they didn’t want more than a bite, but they liked it so much they totally helped me eat it. We’ll all be back!

Being an Oak View resident it would be hard to say you’ve never been to the OV staple simply dubbed Casa by longtime residents. Family run, Gabriel and his wife have always made the customer feel at home. Which of course is part of its charm. The waitresses have all been there for many years and they are always happy to see you and normally you can’t get away without seeing someone you know, even people who come up from Ventura(like me) to get our Casa Fix! Normally when it’s a non busy time you can seat yourself. But when it’s busy which is usually from 5:00 though 7:00, they will take your name and you’ll have a wait, and people do wait. The servers will bring you chips and salsa, white cup is mild, brown is spicy and they will ask you what you want to drink. Best Ice Tea ever(Farmer Brothers Coffee shout out), before they switched to bigger glasses they used to bring people pitchers of it because it was that popular… They’d see me coming and have it ready. Casa is best described as Mexican comfort food. It’s tasty and you always leave satisfied. The Cheese Enchilada and rice is by far my favorite thing to get. I also love their ground beef tacos, yum!
They also serve hamburgers for those in your party who might not feel like Mexican food when you do. On the weekends they serve breakfast until 10 or 11. The parking is tight, it’s my one gripe and seating is limited but it’s never stopped me from going. I’ve met a lot of great servers, waitresses and waiters over the years. A word of appreciation going out to Gwen, Penny, Martin(Mar-Teen), Pam, Yesenia, Travis and so many more, who have helped shape Casa De Lago into what it is! I gave it a 4 because of the parking, otherwise this place is aces to me.
