I was greeted with a smile and a «hi welcome» upon entering the establishment. Awesome start. The place isn’t very big. It probably has six tables inside and it looks like a locals place.
I really enjoyed the waitress. I wish I had asked her name. She’s got the dyed blonde hair. She was so friendly and inviting. Thank you. She was always around making sure we were okay.
I ordered the happy hour beer and the Friday Special Saint Louis Rib. The ribs were tender and the rub was decent.
I like the relax ambiance and the fast and friendly service.
I don’t travel this way often but I’ll be stopping by again on my way to… Well, wherever the roads lead to.

The food is very good really enjoyed it however the customer service was a real disappointment. I purchased an Axxess card and called JJ’s to place a carry out order I SPECIFICALLY asked the order taker if I can use the card for carry out (because I know many restaurants do not allow use of the axxes card on carry out) the order taker on the phone stated yes you can use just be sure to bring it in when you come so we can make the adjustment and punch the card. When I arrived the manager said I could not use the card I told the manager the order taker had misinformed me the manager did not seem to care. I later was still frustrated and called the manager again and all he aid was sorry «how about I give a free dessert next time you come in. TOTALLY unacceptable good food but we probably wont be back for a long time

This was a last minute stop for us. Clean and nice sports atmosphere. The staff are friendly. I am giving it 5 stars understanding that this is a small town restaurant. The food was good. I would come again :)

I got very sick on a pork sandwich delivered by the bar tender, the Sheff is horrible I think he hates white people, the food is really questanable, please avoide.

Things have slipped a bit. Food service can be slow and the attention to detail in the kitchen isn’t what it was. I was there recently and my server ended their shift and left. Took me a while to figure out. I’ll give it another try in a few months. I hope they get it together.

I love this place, it’s my favorite place to go for a sports game, a causal dinner or lunch and great service. I absolutely love everyone who works there they’re all awesome people.

My father and I just had dinner here and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised! I used to date a guy that lived in Oakview and I remember asking him if JJ’s had good food and he told me no it’s just OK so when I moved to Ojai I never thought twice about JJ’s.
Boy was he wrong! I just had the BEST burger I may have ever had. I ordered The BBB, it’s a bacon BBQ burger with onion rings on top. The meat they use is so flavorful!!! Everything was cooked perfectly! My dad got the ribeye and he was extremely impressed as well! He also said that the flavor of the meat was out of this world! We also got onion rings as an appetizer and the onion rings are pretty delicious. I got sweet potato fries and they were just ok, nothing to rave about but wow! still a great meal! The burger was MASSIVE! I will definitely be going back and I hope you will consider trying it out!

Been there a few times. I’m not really a sports bar person and this place has all the games but they keep the sound down so people can talk. I go for the food and company. The ingredients are hand-​picked with local purveyors or just the better quality stuff. Definitely not the type of sports bar that thinks people don’t care about what they eat. Most menu items are about $ 10 plus or minus a couple of bucks. Cozy bar, big patio and a dining room in between the two. Due to the layout everybody can have their own space. Manager Fernando is a good guy and the staff is also friendly and helpful. People are friendly and conversation is not a lost art here. If you want a burger, skip by the Wendy’s and McDonald’s to get yourself a real one here.
It is easy to drive past but just slow down when you see the gas stations in Oak View along the 33, look on the other side of the street — next to the Boccalli’s Pizza [also good — they grow their own veggies at their farm on the far side of town used for their pizza and salads]

I love this place. Lots of TVs and every NFL game on Sunday. Great service. Natosha the bartender really has things under control. Great customer service. Clean. Look forward to coming here again both with friends and family.

When I’ve been in town visiting and stumbled across this place and the new owners fixed it up. I like it. Always for me is the tri tip sandwich and pasta salad. I liked it.

Great place for watching a game, drinks & friendly staff! We came for happy hour. For $ 5, the TWO lettuce wraps were huge & Loaded with chicken! Yummy. We are regulars & it’s our casual ‘go-​to’ place. Love it!

If you like to wait forever to be acknowledged and then not get what you ordered this place is for you! Consistently bad! We have given this place plenty of chances and they get a fail every time. We were waited on by the manager and she took the order but completely ignored us otherwise. Didn’t bring drinks we ordered. We even asked another waiter and guess what. Never got the drinks. Would give negative number if possible. Owner should be embarrassed to own such a poorly run establishment.

Staff was super friendly and helped us with beer orders and recommendation. We got our food quickly and everything was great. Lovely atmosphere.
If I lived here I would for sure be a regular.

My husband and I came here for dinner the other night. We hadn’t been in a long time and wanted to see if we’d have a better experience than we did when they first opened. There was a popular sports game up on the televisions but there were still a couple of open tables and the noise level wasn’t high. Good ambiance.
I had come in with a craving for BBQ chicken, but then saw they had shrimp pasta and decided to give it a try. I probably should stick to the specialties at a place like this but I thought it would be a good test — if they can do killer pasta as well as their BBQ they’d be a great place all around. My husband ordered their turkey club sandwich.
My pasta was prepared exactly as I’d ordered it. The shrimp were big and tender, though a tad dry. The angel hair pasta was good, though a little overcooked. The wine-​butter sauce was also good, with a strong, bold flavor. I’d order it with less next time but I always like less than my friends so I think they use a pretty standard amount here.
Husband liked his sandwich. It was like a regular sandwich, cut into quarters and then the quarters were stacked two on top of the other two so it looked like two tall skinny sandwiches. Made his meal look kind of small, but aesthetically appealing none the less.
Service seemed a little slow and my pasta dish claimed to come with garlic bread but I wasn’t served any. Husband’s side of sweet potato fries was a little overdone on the outside, though perfect on the inside.
We may return. If we do I’ll try something else on the menu.

We stopped in for lunch on our way through the Ojai Valley. The food, drinks and service were great. There were four people in our party and everyone raved about the quality of the food. Prices were quite reasonable and we would not hesitate to stop in again.

This place was actually pretty good when it first opened up but the last time I came here in July and all our food was overcooked, our waiter was slow even tho the place only had two other tables and there were two dead cockroaches in the corner next to our table. I haven’t been back since

I don’t understand why this place isn’t packed. The food is great the service is fast. Give them a try you will not be sorry.

Used to stop in here when it was a donut shop named Cuddle’s thirty years ago. Then it became the Oak Pit BBQ about twenty years ago Now it is a sports bar where everyone knows your name. Great food and a half dozen beers on tap. Cool place, 1 mile from home and they have a full bar which Oak View hasn’t had since the Hilltop closed.
