Fan favorite is the Pastrami Sandwich and Zucchini Fries. The pastrami is piled high, nice and moist, served with mustard and pickles, I love to add their house salsa when ordering. The Zucchini Fries are hand dipped, house recipe — YUMMY. Iced Tea is fresh brewed and yummy. This is a walk up counter that you place order and then they bring food to your table. Drinks are in soda fountain, or Iced Tea Container for you to fill up yourself and to refill at your leisure. Now, the reason I don’t have 5 full stars is due to the price. I feel it is over priced for what it is. I often head through the drive through and almost always get the Pastrami Sandwich, Zucchini Fries and Iced Tea. When I first moved back to the area 12yrs ago this place was recommended to me by the person that was cutting my hair — she was right it is great food. Just wish the price point was a couple dollars less on my normal meal. By the time I order and pay it’s about $ 14. for a drive thru meal. Now, the burger prices are much more reasonable but, that’s not what I want there…

One of the best burgers and onion rings I’ve ever had! Everything is so fresh including the coffee, lol But seriously the best restaurant I ate in near Yosemite.

We came here with a group of 6. The service was super fast and would constantly freshen up our coffee. The food was very good and will most likely come back when we return to bass lake

This place is phenomenal. Chili was amazing, the burger was huge and tasty. Great service, nice staff. I’d come here again and again if we lived near by.

Stopped for lunch on way in and out of Yosemite, and drove out of park to Oakhurst for breakfast(& supplies) mid-trip. Had Avocado BLT twice, and Omlette with Swiss, Spinach & Mushrooms. My BLTs and Omlette were loaded with veggies. Husband had Burger w/Chilli Cheese Fries, Philly Cheese-Steak and Biscuits & Gravy w/Scrambled Eggs. All were delicious. Staff was friendly & service was fast. If we drive from Fresno to Yosemite again, we will hit Pete’s Place for sure!

Extremely overly priced food for what it is. Place is an old dive, hasn’t been updated looks like since the 80’s. Food is ok, nothing terrific. Do not try: The onion rings have no taste, no flavor! Don’t waste your money on them! Do try: The gyro sandwich.

This place is so scrumptious!!! We needed an unforgettable breakfast to shake off some sore muscles from hiking in Yosemite. This seasoned country style place made hearty food and I wish I didn’t eat it as fast! I had the bisquits and gravy. Perfectly peppery and creamy and awesome sausage links. Mary the waitress was a beast and made everyone feel welcome. She checked up on us and literally the whole floor multiple times. I think the place would drop a few stars if she weren’t there. Go here.

Shared a pastrami sandwich and zucchini fries and small drink with Hubby for a quick stop before going into Yosemite Park. The service was great, the server bring out two plates/forks for us since we are sharing, they even come out asking if food was ok. The pastrami taste great and we both love the zucchini fries. We would come here again next hiking trip.

If you’re going to drive to this town the one place you have to go to is Pete’s. They make the best chicken sandwich in the entire state of California. And their avocados are to die for. I can assure you that you will not leave hungry. You can hike the entire John Muir Trail and never see a mountain that compares to the mountain that comes in one order of french fries.

Being my first time visiting oakhurst, i was very pleased with the hospitality in this area. Nearly every resturaunt i’ve visited these passed 8 days were all very freindly but Petes Placed managed to not only serve up some of the best smiles n attitude but the best food all together. I went in there expecting a simple small little family owned diner and while it did look like it, there quality in food was of pure excellency, or shall i say eggcellency. I went there 2 days ago ordered an egg sandwhich n zuchinni blown away yesterday i got a cheese burger, fries n chicken gyro blown away. Today i had the beef gyro, blown away so much that i ended up ordering another on the way out each visit gets better n better n my waist line gets bigger n bigger. If your out of town n want some hearty cooked breakfast, lunch, n dinner petes place is the go to place.

Since my very first visit and review, I have been back several times and everything has improved. The onion rings are much better so maybe the first time was just a bad onion ring day. Cleanliness has also improved. This last visit I decided to try the patty melt. I have always liked a patty melt but it is so hard to find one that is good. This was the best I have had in a long time. Real rye bread which is a must. I prefer dark rye but this was very flavorful rye. This really is a nice change from the food at the fast food chains we have in town.

Nothing like homemade food from a hard-working family-owned restaurant. We enjoyed our last meal in town over here and was greeted by the most cheerful people ever. The portions are huge and definitely recommend this Diner over the big chains such as Mickey D’s & Denny’s which are located just across the street.

Stopped by for breakfast the other day and the staff was so welcoming and patient with any questions we’ve had. We’ve ordered zucchini fries here before through drive thru but this will be the first time we’ve come in and dined in. Lots of options, simple yet satisfying, very laid back atmosphere and staff treats everyone like family. Definitely will be coming in rather than doing drive thru next time.

After many years of visiting the cabin in Bass Lake, I finally stopped in for a late breakfast, early lunch. My girlfriend was very disappointed that we apparently just missed the end of them serving breakfast. I really dont understand why a place like this couldn’t serve breakfast all day, but hey, maybe that’s why im not in the restaurant business. Anyways, ordered a BLTA and a chicken gyro… I find myself wanting to drive up to Oakhurst just to have the perfectly seasoned chicken with marinated tomatoes and onions and then there is the tzaziki sauce its chunks of cucumber in it. I have not been able to find a gyro with the great sauce anywhere that compares to theirs. the BLTA was stuffed with at least ½ a pound of bacon. All in all, after the disappointment of not getting breakfast, our two selections were fantastic and we will definitely stop in again…

Awesome diner style food. Portion sizes are large. We had fish and chips. Excellent and really fresh. The included salad was super fresh and a good size too. We were told the blue cheese dressing was homemade. Onion rings and zucchini fries were a delight. We also stopped in for breakfast and had the gravy and biscuits – included 4 perfectly cooked bacon and eggs of your choosing. Really, really good. Price is not cheap but worth it. Staff was very friendly. Highly recommended.

I was just returning from a week of camping when we decided to go to Pete’s Place on the way up. It was really delicious! I got a sausage breakfast burrito with avocado and a side of extra tomatoes. The tomatoes were chosen out of my craving for some fresh food after camping, and they were some of the freshest, most delicious tomatoes I have tasted. Pete’s Place definitely hit the spot and it was probably one of the best breakfast burritos I have ever had. So good!
