Light Bulbs Unlimited

I went here to return a lightbulb which I had just purchased for $ 25.00. I found out the fixture was bad
They WOULD NOT refund my money because I didn’t have the store receipt I did have my visa receipt which showed the proof of purchase.
Really? How ridiculous. What ever happened to customer service? My electrician told me stop doing business here. Their inventory is lousy and they are not customer friendly at all!
Don’t buy here! There are other places in town much more deserving of your business!

If I had to give no stars I would. I wanted to buy a flood light for outside he wouldn’t even get off his fat ass to try to figure out what kind of light bulb I needed and there was no one else there.

This store has the worst customer service ever! I wish I could give a ZERO here. I ordered a lighted mirror in August and its now SEPT 17 th. Still haven’t received my mirror paid over 1000 dollars for it … Called the Mgr yesterday was told it was shipped on Sept 10 th and said he would call me back with a tracking number he never did… I called today my salesperson Ernani totally incompetent said Eventhough I paid the money for the mirror they never paid the company to get it. I will never use this store again. Horrible!!! The worst. They are quick to take your money but they don’t deliver.

Buyer beware: What an incompetent business. I emailed the salesperson and the salesman’s email address redirects me to another person in corporate. I send email to the auto redirect and no one responds. Three day’s later I call and they have no idea what I am talking about. I ask if they received my email for a price quote that I sent on Sunday, his response is I don’t work Sunday. I said today is Wednesday, how about Monday, did you get my email Monday morning when you returned? He says no. I ask why their email link redirects me to someone else and he doesn’t know. After resending an email by manually typing in the long foreign name email address the salesman asks me what I want. I said «could you please read my email» he responds «oh». Then he asks me what I want him to do? I tell him I want him to read my email which is a request for a price delivered on two $ 500.00 lamps including model numbers, html links and pictures with dimensions. He responds with «oh, ok» I will call you back. I said could you please respond to my email with the quote? He says ok. So in summary, I don’t know how these people are in business.

Should a customer really have to put up with so much attitude… ever? I’m sure that this is a fine national chain but this Fort Lauderdale store is the pits at customer service. Hard to get waited on, resentful toward questions, and terrible follow through on special orders. They have great stuff… but order on line and spare yourself a disappointing in store experience.

I have always had a positive customer experience at this store. The ‘go to” store for any lighting issue.

I felt compelled to write a positive review for this store having seen all the negatives. We were sent here by our contractor who reported he had always had a good experience — the staff were excellent and incredibly helpful in helping us plan our lighting for our kitchen — especially Jeff.
I was very worried when we found out that one of our LED fixtures was not working — as we have had them for several months but have had a lot of delays waiting for inspections and approvals. But, could not have been more delighted with the response of «I’m sorry to hear that — we’ll order a replacement right away — please bring in the non-​working unit with you to exchange it.
I’m sorry to hear the experiences other people have had, but have to say we could not be more delighted.

Total disappointment. Needed a simple bulb for my bathroom, they didn’t carry it or ANYTHING that the sales clerk could recommend that would work as an indoor flood. I begged the guy to not make me look someplace else, and he said he could order me something but it would be hard to find. I went down the road to Lowes and they had exactly what I needed by bucket full.

Upon entering there was a sign which said «Excuse Our Mess While We Get Better.» Indeed, the place was a mess, which I could have excused had there been any indications that they were in the process of getting better, but there weren’t. The general displays were rather crappy with much of the merchandise having the appearance of just having returned from the Afghan wars… damaged, holes punched through lamp shades, and having little order or system about them.
OK, I’ll forgive them for the mess but what I won’t forgive them for is their unmannerly less than helpful staff. I was only there to purchase a light bulb, nothing exotic, just a simple two prong 1142 or similar bulb which I later picked up at Ace Beachside Hardware. Their rather surly clerk who seemed more annoyed by my presence than pleased to have customer advised me that they didn’t have any but if I wanted one (which since I was there asking for one I obviously did… Duh!) they «might» be able to get one if I would pay for it and order it in about two to three weeks. Really now, TWO TO THREE WEEKS! I could probably contact Nefglow and have one custom built sooner than that.
«Light Bulbs Unlimited?» Seems like a rather «limited» selection to me.
I followed up my initial question by further asking the clerk if he had any suggestions as to where else I might find such a light bulb which elicited the simple response of «No,» but as I was leaving he added «You might try a hardware store.» Well I did try a hardware store, Ace Beachside to be specific, where I got my light bulb without any problem. Overall it just seems odd that a store that specializes in lighting and light bulbs doesn’t carry an ordinary item that is commonly found at any hardware store. But then again, I’ve seen far better lighting displays along with a much greater variety at any Lowe’s or Home Depot than I did here; plus the fact of not having to put up with a rather unfriendly unhelpful staff.
With a limited inventory, damaged goods on display and a less than friendly staff, I see little reason for anyone bothering themselves with going to this place. Besides that, your customer presence might annoy the sales staff.

Let me just say, the new management that has taken over is such a HUGE difference and refreshing change!!! The new design and layout of the store is amazing. I’m not sure what happen but boy this place is different. Thank you for making my Saturday shopping easy and informative. I had no idea about choosing a fan, but Jeffrey was so helpful. Thank you guys, keep up the good work!

If customer service were a homework assignment this place would get a D-​. Placed an order for a fixture on 5÷9÷13 that was paid for in full. When you’ve worked to earn the money to spend, you shouldn’t have to work to get your hands on what you’ve bought after you’ve paid for it. Fifteen days after ordering, I had placed my third call to check on the status of the fixture after being twice told I would be called back with an ETA (I was NEVER called). I was told the fixture hadn’t shipped from the manufacturer and wouldn’t be in until the end of the following week, which equates to my having to place more calls. When asked why the fixture we were led to believe would be in within five days was taking so long, I was told «I don’t know». This is not the first issue we’ve had with this store. My electrician had fixtures on order and was told they would be in by a specific date, only to find the day of the install they weren’t in and in that case too, no one called to let him know. The end result is an inability by the customer to get the work done and the headache associated with having to chase the store staff around. Bottom line, I wouldn’t give more business to a store that’s twice demonstrated an inability to fulfill in a reasonable time frame or return customer calls associated with their orders.
