Abbraccio closed over a month ago and there isn’t another café in the area to take its place. The owner is wonderful and I hope she reopens; I could always count on an amazing cappuccino and a pleasant hello. Come back to us, Lexi!

Sorry to see this place close down last month after they lost their lease. The owner was super cool(and reminded me of Tooty from Dead Moon) and friendly. There was always something interesting on the walls by local artists that actually had some talent. I would stop by usually on my way home from doing laundry or grocery shopping on the weekends. Sadly Café Abbraccio was out of my way to catch the BART to work so I barely visited on weekdays. I saw a sign that said they were moving to a new location but there was not an address. I wish them luck and if I come across the new spot I will stop in for a mocha(which was always perfect!)

Abbraccio is a café in the fruitvale, off the beaten path. cozy, just a couple tables, abstract art adorn the walls. menu: coffee, expressos, bagels, donuts, cookies, sammies coming pour:(L.)1.75 –smooth brew, medium roast?, source not displayed eats: day old cookie(1.25) semifredd? –veryy chocolate chipped. cookie taste muted. –pretty good for day old. drips: –single person(owner?)running everything, slight wait –diversse patronage –ample parking on street. –just a block from international, a few from public market. –cheerful service, prompt acknowledgement.

I am one of the throngs of Bay Area folks who spend literal HOURS every week using a coffee shop somewhere as my internet-enabled«home office». Until recently I lived just outside Emeryville and did this in the various typical hipster/student spots in North Oakland /South Berkeley(Actual, Goodbellies, Nomad, etc.). I have since moved to East Oakland, and Abbraccio is biking distance from my house. I’m VERY happy it is here! The coffee is good and sanely priced, the bandwidth is more than ample, the location is great(across from Fruitvale BART, down the street from multiple taquerias and other food), the aesthetic and staff are pleasant and friendly, there are multiple comfy seating options(armchairs, sofa). Abbraccio is clearly early in its life as a business. I really hope they have continued success and look forward to a future with later hours(they currently close at 3:00) and more food offerings(currently only bagels, but sandwiches are supposed to be added soon). I will definitely become a regular customer here. If you live in Fruitvale or Maxwell Park or the East end of Alameda — or often find yourself, say, shopping at the Home Depot off of High Street — you should too!

Great little coffee shop. Cute, clean, yummy coffee & pastries. A sign says they will have sandwiches soon, so — even better.

I like this place. Its right near my home and they have good coffee. I wish they were open more often and had a little more color on the walls. Hopefully more people start coming through so this place can feel more homey. Just glad to have another coffee shop in the neighborhood.

The owner Lexie is sweet as can be. Abbraccio has delicious coffee and Lexie keeps it coming as long as you are there. A interesting group of characters are regulars there. The music is great. Abrraccio provides a relaxing environment to study, read or just enjoy a cup of java. I definitely plan to be back.

I wish Unilocal had the option of adding extra stars for those really-amazing businesses! Lexi, the owner is just awesome! You will never catch her without a huge smile on her face, ready to serve you an amazing cup of coffee… As the locksmith that works on the property I keep on stopping by and seeing how Lexi know’s almost every person who stops by on a first name basis. I have never seen such good personal interaction in any coffee-shop my life! I hope this place stays open for many more years — it really is one of a kind =) Thanks for reading, Gabriel.

best coffee shop in east oakland. The owner is friendly and welcoming and always there. I’ve been going there for a while now and she know my drink and my name and theres always a paper for any one on the table to read while she gets your coffee ready.

Coffee: Excellent quality, well-made, with varied offerings and options. Non-coffee servings: Again, quality, though could expand beyond pastries and ice cream. Atmosphere: Eclectic, with a variety of books to peruse and interesting art to view. Quirky but comfortable furniture. Well-lit interior and sidewalk sitting options. Staff/owner: Seemingly awesome people who want to offer and be awesome. Areas for improvement: Self-promotion and signage are lacking, closes @ 3, which. Is usually too early for me to visit.

This underrated café uses really good Four Barrel roasted coffee beans. The barista/owner makes great espresso drinks. She’s really friendly and creates a welcoming atmosphere. It’s not fussy or pretentious. It’s just a solid neighborhood coffee joint with good prices and great beans. A small coffee is around $ 1.25 whereas a comparable drip would be $ 2 elsewhere. Plus, they’ve recently started offering $ 1 a scoop ice cream.

Delicious coffee and iced-tea in this neighborhood shoppe. Interesting people stopping in and the owner, Lexi, was simply a delight to talk with. Her encyclopedic knowledge of dirty limericks and knock-knock jokes was truly impressive(kidding). She is growing the business right… from the grass roots of the community upward. Shining a light to the world and brewing a great cup o’ Joe at the same time.
